2 more weeks, I'll be re-sleeved. I started my 2 week pre-op diet to "shrink the liver" before surgery. So far, so good. It's been really difficult to consume so much Water. I have a hard time getting 2/ 16oz. bottles down but I know how important it is. That said, I also need to begin my nascobal (vit B12 spray), multi and Calcium. I'm so fortunate to have this opportunity, AGAIN...and get my health back on track.

Jodi1980 reacted to TakingABreak in Does peanut butter make anyone else sick???
I couldn't handle regular peanut butter until about 3 months out. But I did use PB2 powder in my shakes and had no problem. The sugar is very little, at 1 gram. It adds 5 grams of Protein per serving, with only 45 calories. Its also low fat compared to regular peanut butter. They have this in chocolate powder as well.

I have my pre-op "liver shrinking diet" starting 2 weeks before my scheduled surgery of 7/25/18. It basically consist of 3 high Protein Shakes less than 200 calories, 2 high Protein Snacks and 1 high protein meal. If I were to do the meal for dinner for example, it should be something like 6 oz. of lean protein (chicken, fish or pork), 2 cups raw or cooked non-starchy veggies and then 1/2 cup of starch like a potato. and if wanted 1/2 tsp. pf fat.
Went to Jenkinson's Boardwalk in Point Pleasant, NJ yesterday with my hubs and 2 year old son and had my own "food funeral" of the bad beach foods! The struggle is all to real!

@jodi1980 thank you! :) it is, and it is literally done through one incision in the belly button....so no visible scar! I am going through the New York Bariatric group and Dr. Garber is doing my surgery. He is one of the most experienced in the single incision sleeve surgery.

Its completely normal to feel this way. I was sad at first too but it does pass. Right now you have FOMO. All I can say is the food will always be there. Now you have to find other ways to occupy your time. Its just now becoming clear that food was the center our worlds revolved around. I'm 6 weeks out and 32 lbs. down. This is the best decision of my life. Believe me it does get better.

I'm 12 days out from my surgery, still in full liquid phase, and understand what you are going through. I've definitely had moments of despair and regret, but we'll get through it.
I had my surgery done through Kaiser, had to take a three month class, then follow it up with 2 months dealing with the doctor. One of the things I've found most helpful, even with all the information I was given, was going to a bariatric support group. Kaiser has one free to the public, and hopefully someone has something similar in your area. It's been a great source of information, advice, and encouragement. You get to talk to a lot of people who have been in your situation, and can offer different advice on getting through certain things.
Don't give up yet. 3 days out I really was wondering what on earth I had gotten myself into. I'm 2 days away from my next phase and know that will make it so much easier. Stick with it, you didn't go through all this for nothing.

I also regretted my surgery for the first few weeks. Now at week 4, I feel great, I’m losing weight, learning to eat what’s right for my body, exercising. I’m in a much better place than I was at 2 weeks post op when I had a total meltdown and just cried my eyes out.

@Skinnygirl04 I'm getting a revision. I can tell you that my initial surgeon had tendency to push for the stages sooner than other patients. The warning signs are your body's way of telling you ENOUGH. In my case, my nose would run and my heart would beat fast...sounds strange but they are effects with some people. In regards to Soup as more of a puree, the thickened ones I did the sip shots out of a medicine cup like the Water after your surgery. It worked and usually after 3 to 4 sips, it was game over and my nose would run. Hope this helps.

Pirate booty---every damn time. My kids eat it and those sneaky little bits off cheddar goodness keep wandering into my mouth.
But holy weight loss Batman! @BruceWayne 63 pounds?! I was sleeved on 4/27 and have lost 42---this does nothing to change my opinion that men suck.

What's really wild? My great grandparents (Slovakian immigrants) planted a poppy field JUST to make this old world bread (and of course planted it by the road to share the pretty flowers with their neighbors)...and got visited by the feds because their dozen children were out there barefoot working the fields and neighbors driving by got concerned. LOL
No, officer, our children are not opium slaves, we are making tasty sweet bread.
That said....this is some addictive freaking bread.
