  1. Never stopped & never did anything different with my hair routine of blow drying & curling.
  2. If you are drinking your protein this can count as your fluid intake (this is what my nutritionist told me) for the 1st couple of months. Try adding something like Drip Drops or Liquid IV to your water. Set a time for every 15 min to drink, even it’s a little sip. I’m over 5 years out & I still have a time set with the Baritastic app yo remind me to drink.

  4. Good for you! Try adding an electrolyte water to your fluids like Drip Drops or liquid IV. That really help me when I was feeling “punie”

    Noisy stomach

When did you have the surgery? Take a deep breath to relax. Maybe your body just needs sometime to work into your new routine. Your stomach had been through some major trauma! I’m sure it will be alright.

    Reheating food

I haven’t heard anything like that before. If you reheat in the microwave maybe try the stove top instead.
  7. I’m over 5 years out. I eat about 2oz protein & one oz veggies for dinner. I have 5 small meals a day. When we go out I eat about 1/3 of the protein & about 3 small bites of veggies. If I go over that I know I will put on weight. If I eat more then that I end up throwing up.

    Juicing or Blended drinks

I drink about 3oz of fresh juice for a snack. I love carrots, cucumber & beets. I juice up a bunch & freeze 3oz in breast milk bags (they are much stronger then regular ziplock bags) and have one every couple of days.
  9. Congratulations on doing so well. I had a bypass over 5 years ago & I still weight my food at home. I never go over 3.5 oz. I do 2 oz of protein & the rest in veggies or fruit. You have a great attitude & will do well.

    CPAP users

After you loose a considerable amount of weight you really should have another sleep study. I lost 70 lbs & still have to use one! I’ve been using one for 18 years 🤦‍♀️

Eating too much 6 days post op RNY

Wow! That seems like a lot of calories so soon. I think I didn’t have more than 800 for the 1st 6 months. I was told to concentrate more on protein. To have 60-90 grams a day. Good luck to you.

    Type 2 Diabetic

I’m not pre diabetic but I would suck on a mint when this would happen. I’m over 5 years out & this only happened during the 1st year.

    Overnight Bag

You can wear the same clothes home that you wore to the hospital. You won’t be in them for long.

    Exercise Before Surgery

Starting to exercise 3 weeks before surgery isn’t gonna change much of anything. Besides you can’t exercise for 6 weeks after. When your six weeks are up ease into something slowly. Hopefully loosing weight will make it easier on your body to move more without being in pain. Best of luck on your surgery & weight loss!

    Surgery Date 08/07/2023

This pain is a be time thing after it is used to blow up your abdomen.

    Surgery Date 08/07/2023

The only pain I had (and it’s always really bad for me) is the pain in the left shoulder from the gas used to inflate the abdomen. Nothing helps that pain as mine always lasts about 3 weeks! I do see a pain specialist so I can’t remember if my surgeon gave me pain meds or not. If something just doesn’t seem right, call your surgeon’s office, they are the experts, not us! Check with your insurance about a nutritionist & therapist.
  21. Take a deep breath, it’s not the end of the world but please follow the food guidelines that your doctor gave you! Start again on your next meal.

    Always Low Energy

Try using an electrolyte drink like Drip Drops or Liquid IV. I was feeling this way & a naturopath suggested that for me. She said I looked & felt “punnie” (sorry don’t know how to spell that). Using one stick of Drip Drops a day has made such a difference for me!

    Gastric Bypass Aug 16th

I haven’t had any regrets. 5-7 days after surgery is when you think “what the hell did I just do?” But then you are able to drink a little more protein each day & then you progress though all the food stages & you slowly start to feel better as the weight starts falling off. Then you feel amazing & wonder why you didn’t do it sooner! I think most of us were scared before surgery. It’s a natural response.
  25. Not sure what is going on but please check in with your Surgon/bariatric team & your primary.
