Dietician Stuff...help me not be a jerk...
toodlerue replied to 🅺🅸🅼🅼🅸🅴🅺's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Just curious, what sort of things were in the diet pack that you don’t agree with? It sounds like you have been paying attention to your body and know it very well. Share your concerns with your nutritionist & trust that they will listen. -
Wow. I was Only at 700-800 calories 2 months out. Measure your food so you aren’t eating more than 3 oz at a meal.

Seems like I lived on GasX & nausea pills for the 1st 2 months!

You need way more protein! Right now the protein drinks are counting towards your liquid intake. You should be getting 60-90 mg protein a day! I know It is hard at first but that’s what you should be shooting for. It might take you 1/2 hour to drink that much, just go slow.

Eating at a bar... a new experience.
toodlerue replied to mousecat88's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I get Water just to make the server feel good. They can’t believe someone wouldn’t even want a glass of water with their meal. My daughter and I both Had a RNY this year. I love Going out to eat because we can share a meal. We got a 6oz steak this week at Black Angus. It was the perfect size for us to share. -
Almost sounds like kidney stones. But you really should see a doctor. If it is an obstruction in your intestines & they rupture it will be a whole lot worse!!!!!

Oh man! BTW I love your username! Made me 😂

Alternate between hot & cold water on your head in the shower. Or hot and cold on the back of your neck using a hot rice bag & an ice pack.

Laying eggs is a natural process for birds. If there is no rooster around the eggs are not going to grow into a chick. And nobody likes the smell of rotten 🥚!

pain control 1.5 years after GBS
toodlerue replied to virginiaRN's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Wow. You just wrote my pain story! You have tried everything that I would suggest except lidocaine patches. They are expensive but I can't live without them. I also wear an neoprene exercise belt around the house when I need heat & ThemoPac when I need heat when I’m not at home. I also take Norco. Some days I take 2 & somedays I don't take any, just depends on the day. So I know I’m not addicted to them. Best of luck finding out something that works for you! -
Amazing ! I love it when people pose in the same clothes! Really shows how far you have come!

Accutane (isotretinoin) after RNY?
toodlerue replied to maggie354's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Both of my daughters did acutane as teenagers. I did not look at all the risks. They just wanted clear skin. Looking back I would only have put them on it if they had cystic acne. It almost ruined one girls liver. Do your research & take with caution. -
Wow! That’s crazy! Did the dr save the cancer port for proof? Or take pictures? Going after him is something to look into. As for the pain you are in today, I can relate! I had The horrible gas pain in my shoulder for 3 weeks.! I have Had lots of different surgeries and this was the 3rd worse!

Do you still have your gallbladder? -
I’m still here! Just been busy & enjoying life 50 pounds lighter! How are you doing?

I bought some but didn’t eat it. I just Puréed whatever I had made for the family. My puréed chicken with made with broth was way better then premade baby food!
-
I’m just over 5 months out. I’d say it took me about 2-3 months. When others started to notice or family members told me how good I am doing.

This surgery takes a lot out of you. My daughter had a hard time going back to work in retail at 10 days. She found it hard to get enough protein in to have enough stamina to make it through a 4 hour shift.
