I never had this problem either. Was 5 days post op with colace. I take colace daily and need a smooth mouth tea every other day to go every 3 to 5 days and I am 4 weeks out.

I am also going to take some miralax. Seems to not be moving along very well.

As far as your TMI question, it was a full WEEK for me. I started drinking Miralax at day 5 and had to do that for a couple of days. Just a warning, this issue can continue longer than immediately post-op. I've never had a problem with this at all but I'm 3.5 weeks post-op and I've had to take Miralax seeeeeveral times.

I found that the whey powders made me bloat and feel very uncomfortable. I switched to premade shakes, Isopure and genpro. Since then the bloating has mostly disappeared.

I believe it's ricotta, marinara, cheese, an egg, and Italian spices. Mix it all and bake it. Sounds amazing. I can't wait until I am on purees I miss food.
You can also make chicken/ tuna salad, hard boiled eggs chicken or tuna and mayo
Cottage cheese and fruit of choice
    Meatballs marinara and cheese
Chicken, Frank's wing sauce, blue cheese dressing.

These are just a few ideas I've seen

Home from the hospital in only 24 hours! Feeling pretty good on pain meds. Made my Protein and fluid goals for today. Last night in the hospital was pretty rough, so looking forward to sleeping in my own bed.

I'll be 3 weeks out tomorrow. My surgeon wants me to eat at least 6 times a day. I am not quite there yet, it's usually more like 3 or 4. But I am able to eat between 3-4oz at a time and have been focusing on Protein. I feel really fortunate that I don't have any issues with keeping things down or discomfort eating or drinking. Like Paddyski, I think I am at my first stall BUT I know it's temporary and I'll just keep pushing on! Good luck to everyone who is approaching their date. This is the best decision I ever made!

I was doing well until i looked over and my husband was teary eyed. bless his heart. I was terrified! This was my first surgery but you will do great!
Now i feel surgery is the "easy" part. you just wake up and its done! Recovery takes work
not that any of this is easy! but your team will take good care of you!

oh bummer i know that can be a real issue. Yeah i think i may have been a little dehydrated trying to catch up on fluids. But i am happy to report i had a couple bm today after not having one for a while.
Yesterday was the first day i met my Fluid goal so i am sure i just needed to use the bathroom.
    hopefully tonight is better

Ummmm....I am doing ok. I would say good but I don't feel like I've been doing good bc I've only lost 35llbs. I can eat solid foods already like 2-3 bites and I'm done. I pretty much hit fluid goals some days ...I don't. I have super good days and my stomach is calm and easy going lol and then I have some ugly days and I'm like WHY did eat thisssssss??? LOL Its all an experience and you'll get to know your body in ways you thought you already knew it but no...you didn't. hahaha.

May be too personal but have you gone to the bathroom recently? I had INTENSE cramping a few days after surgery and it was because of that reason. So. Maybe that?

Hey Everyone!! Congrats to all going this week, I feel like today is a big day for a lot of you! I am just shy of 3 weeks and I think I am having my first stall, so it makes sense if I am paying attention to everything I am doing, my calories have started to increase because actual pureed food over liquid, even though it is not a lot it is enough, so I spoke with my nutrionist the other week and felt like a failure she was saying I should be able to hold a lot more in and that I hadn't been eating enough, I also spoke to her about the issues surrounding the bathroom, to which she lowered my Calcium dose to only 500 mg and I did not have to start my Iron, biggest thing was she told me only one Protein Drink a day,but seriously the struggle is real in this area. In any case I am still walking more and more each day, and trying to get all my Protein in a day, I think I have been pretty good, over all getting in one shake and about 6 ounces of puree in a day, and not having any problems with liquids so that is good. People around me have started to notice the loss, I am not there yet but I am feeling better leg pain and the scale is telling me that I have lost about 44lbs from my highest weight so no complaining here! Keep moving forward everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

some people have trouble with lactose after surgery. Could that be it? (is that the first time you've tried a shake with lactose in it since surgery?)
