    Arm Lift and Tummy Tuck

Hello there! Congratulations! I had both done at the same time 5 years ago. It was hard. I did have help though for 1st couple days. If you take your pain meds you can cope. Just make sure you have everything you need close by when your hubby leaves for work: water ,meds crackers & pillow for tummy - having your Velcro wrap around you tight helps too! When the drains are removed you will feel like a million bucks! Best wishes:) PS Don’t shower till someone is around... I passed out & my husband was there to help. I was fine but my blood pressure dropped a bit! No regrets !!!
  3. I am hoping you get answers & can get back your life. I am sorry you are going through this!

    Nail bed lifting

Just a quick question ... do you get nails (acrylic) ? If so that can cause an allergic reaction and make your nailbeds lift and turn the skin around them white and peeling.

    Could use some support...

Hi there! Sorry this has you concerned but may be you can turn that into something positive.... this is for you and you are taking it seriously- sounds like you will do well because you are weighing all the consequences. My sister had gastric bypass 10 years ago& has had many setbacks... even knowing that I am taking the leap. I am terrified but I am positive too. I just remember I am not my sister & it’s up to me to do what I can with this tool .. it’s up to each one of us. I wish you the very best on your journey & peace of mind as you make decisions. There are fantastic people on this site that can help & listen:)

  8. Hi all& hope everything is going awesome on your journey:)... I am June 5. Just went to surgeons office today -next month is my last visit12 days before the big day . Before then I have to get ekg , chest X-ray blood work & approval from my PC to clear me for surgery. I am on the last leg of this trip. I was told today I am required to do a 10 day pre-op clear liquids- I think it’s going to be tough!!!!!might be asking some veterans on the sight for some encouraging input on getting through! I talked to the PA today and asked a ton more questions...she put my mind at ease regardless I am extremely nervous. This whole experience is better because of this great group of people ... so much good info & encouragement right when you need it! Thanks all!!! I will try to keep you in the loop it helps me when I hear others and how they are getting through!
  9. I was a bit concerned too.... thanks for that info!!

    Today is the day!

I wish you a fast recovery & hope this day goes quickly!!!!your post describes exactly how I feel...may be you can give me encouragement on my day !!!!! can’t wait to hear the rest of your success story!!!!!
  13. My sister had gastric bypass 10 years ago her recovery was much different than my lap band in recovery....I know she eats a lot less at a setting, She has dumping syndrome with sweets & can not drink alcohol at all. I didn’t have any of those issues with my Band in. So whether it’s sleeve or gastric bypass I know it will change my life more significantly even the band. I hope those have gone through it already can give you more insight after June 5 I’ll be able to tell you more :-) I hope the best for you!

  16. Hello... you may not have a choice???? My surgeon told me that once he’s in there and he sees what has happened since my lap band was removed 4 years ago he may have to do a gastric bypass instead of a sleeve -he said each person is different and it depends on the scar tissue and other issues that could be related to my stomach and such. I have the sleeve as my first choice and told him he can make the best decision while he’s in there as to what to do for me- I trust my doctor 200%. Just talking to your doctor he may help you decide what’s best for you:) best of health to you! Surgery Date 6-5-18

    canceled surgery 3 times

I can NOT tell you what to do. I can tell you that I am almost 47 ..., most of my life I have had ups &downs when it comes to my weight. Over the years I have wasted countless hours , days , weeks and months worrying about my health my future health how I will look in front of people what I am going to wear . how I get out of breath walking up a hill or just a set of stairs how my body aches & cant do what I want with my kids-how I have no control over what I eat at times it just consumes me ...on top of the added health issues of many many years of yo-yo diets there is just so much of my life wasted because of being overweight. Regrets absolutely-yes I wish I could go back in time & have done my surgery when I was better. Not now when I am suffering from so many things related to obesity. I am scheduled June 5th 2018 . I am terrified, nervous & hopeful - I hope this will help me make up some of my wasted time. I hope it gives me a chance to start over& work at being healthier .this is a tool & a gift. I wish the best for you !

    Self-Pay with a starting BMI of 35

Thanks for the congratulations! I am very nervous about my surgery but I feel it’s my last hope ... I have Bad family genetics is well several have died of heart problems my brother was 39 with the widow maker. My mom had open heart . 2 heart attacks , diabetic and Alzheimers she passed away recently, my siblings have problems diabetic as well my dad passed away with liver issues and he was not a drinker. So many concerns for my future health/ feel like this is the best decision even though I’m still nervous! As others have said though if you’re not nervous he probably wouldn’t be a normal :-)

    Self-Pay with a starting BMI of 35

I had one psych visit and all the routine bloodwork that needed done . Nutritionalist visits & also with the doctor and did a six-month routine as required by insurance. It was actually pretty easy. My general physician had ordered a endoscopy last year because I was having stomach issues to find out that I had a hiatal hernia and a small ulcer. My doctor didn’t require me to have another one because I had that one done.... in last 6 months. I was a mess the day I had to have it done so nervous but it was actually one of the easiest tests I’ve ever had done. I have had many surgery’s, back, neck , abdominoplasty, previous lap band in & removed & 2 c-sections fun!!!!! They put me out 15 mins later I was awake another 30 mins out the door & never felt or new anything happened. Easy:)
