    Flying after sleeve

My surgeon said he was okay with me flying two weeks after surgery.
  2. My sleeve surgery is set for 4/30 and I was wondering how many days I should ask my family to help me watch my 8 month old. My husband has to work but I can ask my parents or in-laws. I was thinking like five days. What do y’all think?
  3. Took three weeks for my doctor to submit and then one week (5 business days) for Cigna to approve. Now I wait to schedule a pre op appointment to get my date HW: 240 GW: 150
  4. I just got approved today by Cigna for the gastric sleeve. I was told I’d be scheduling a surgery date for May or June. I’m so ready to start losing now that I know I’ve been approved. I started at a 40 BMI and couldn’t lose or gain for the past five months. What is the best way to lose before my surgery? Any tips or advice? HW: 240 GW: 150

    Anyone from Connecticut?

I’m going through Hartford Hospital. I just had my final weigh in after two support group meetings, a psychologist appointment, 4 nutrition appointments, an ekg with a cardiologist, blood work, and approval from my PCP. I had my initial consultation 4 months ago and I feel like this is honestly taking forever. I was told my insurance would take up to three weeks to hopefully approve and that I would get a call from the surgical group to schedule a pre-op appointment to get my surgery date which I was told would be 2-3 months from that approval call. I feel like that’s an excessive wait between approval and surgery. Besides the wait I had to not lose or gain anything because my initial BMI is 40. Trying to maintain the same weight for the past 4 months has been hard because all I want to do is lose already!
  6. Had my final weigh in today and my documents will be sent to Cigna for review next week. I was told I would be called within 3 weeks to hear if I was approved and that surgery will happen in about 2 to 3 months after that. I’m a little bummed that after my 4 plus months of waiting to submit my insurance documentation that I would have to wait another 2-3 months. How long from submitting your insurance requirements for approval to your surgery date did you have to wait? Does 2-3 months sound like an excessive wait after approval or is that average?
