    NUT Question

Yes. As long as you have 6 consecutive months of weight management appointments within the last 2 years you should be good. I’m going through that right now. My surgeon was so confident in my case and history they scheduled my surgery while we waited for approval. Well got the call today it was denied simply because in my 6 months of my appointments the doc didn’t dictate “weight management” in the notes they won’t approve it. So they are working on it but I may have to do it again. Which sucks. My surgery was in a week and a half and to have this pop up is super stressful.
  2. Has anyone else had a hard time with BCN?

    Pre-Op Diet

I am actually doing Premier Protein shakes and drinks. Not sure what my taste buds will let me get down after surgery. I hear a lot about how things taste afterwards. But I have some propel and other little things to try just to help get fluids down afterwards. I started my journey a couple years ago. I was going to do the sleeve. But I backed out. Didn't care for the surgeon or facility. And nerves. Recently I found my surgeon on YouTube. Dr. Matthew Weiner he makes a lot of informative videos I started watching to get info on what surgery I wanted and what to expect. Then realized he was near me and I made an apt for Feb 23rd and I am scheduled for my surgery on March 21st. Everything has just gone perfectly.
  8. My surgeon and I are in Michigan. I do not have to do liquids. Only shakes for breakfast and lunch with a sensible dinner for the week before surgery.

    RNY Vitamins

I actually went to Celebrate.com and order the sample pack. It’s 10$ I believe. Free shipping. I got it within 2 days. And it’s gave me some of everything they sell to go over with my doc and see what flavors I like and what not. When if you RNY? I ordered a 90 day supply for 40$.
  12. I am waiting on my clearance as well but they really don't see any issues so they gave me a date and having that date makes it so real. Once you get that I swear your life changes right then and there. I hope you get to join the March losers club as well What make you choose the sleeve rather than RNY just curious? I was originally going for the sleeve when I first went to see a surgeon about 2 years ago but talked myself out of it. And now that I am following through after I found the perfect surgeon for me I choose the RNY with him help of course.

    RNY newbie

Yeah that is my hope as well. Less weight less problems. I have three plates and 21 screws holding my ankle and leg together. That is my biggest hurdle to keeping weight off now. Since my injury I’ve put on 100 lbs. I was extremely active and now can’t do anything. Hope all that changes here soon

    RNY newbie

I shattered my ankle and broke my leg in 2015. I have no range of motion and only thing I can no do to get some relief is have an ankle fusion. Which with me being younger the doctor said to hold off as long as I could. So I manage with large doses of gabapention which I hope to ween off a lot of that with this surgery.

I def will be taking photos here rather soon and I try to walk as much as I can. I have a orthopedic injury that restricts my walking so that is extremely limited at the moment. We are hoping with weight loose it will take a lot of the pressure off my joint and help with arthritis. My surgeon is ok with caffeine. I only drink coffee and have never been a soda drinker. I have been trying to cut cabs now just to get in that mindset.

My surgery will be at Oakland Hospital. My surgeon is Dr.Matthew Weiner. I originally found him through his YouTube channel. I am located in Michigan. My date is set yes but waiting to hear back from insurance which they don’t think is a problem at all so they went ahead and scheduled me. Are any of you doing a YouTube journey series. I’ve started but my video is private atm just because until I have the surgery no one really knows. My fiancé and my mother know but that is it right now. Not sure how I feel about telling people. I’m really struggling there. I feel like I’m not prepared in the sense of having the things I need. I am thinking of choosing the Celebrate multivitamin. Any opinions or reviews from anyone taking them is more than appreciated. And yeah I just don’t want to be in a mad dash to get thing I need right before surgery. Also been trying to decide what my lifestyle of eating will be after surgery. I’ve decided to be a lacto-ovo vegetarian. And I know my fiancé and some family won’t support that fully or will make harsh comment and doubt my decision whiling I’m struggling with. So that’s where I’m at in my journey.
