domi got a reaction from Kris77 in Ghrelin is back (and mad at me)
I feel the same. I'm trying to concentrate on drinking my Water first like I did in the beginning. If i really feel hungry, I drink some chicken broth. I worked too hard to let this voice in my head (or my loud stomach) control me. One day at a time, 1 meal at a time, 1 bite at a time.

I just told my boss I needed surgery and that I would be out 1-2 weeks. That's all they needed to know.

@SteveT74 try adding benefiber to your Water. It is flavorless and helps tremendously.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I am down 90 lbs and have stalled. I think I needed to let my body rest and get used to this weight for a little while. I maintained this weight for over a month and now it seems to be going down again. I am remembering to drink Water and continuing to walk during this maintenance time. Next week I am going to up my workouts again. This helped with my last stall.

Are you still drinking all of your Water? I had the same thing happen around 6 months. I increased my water and made sure I was eating Protein throughout the day (and healthy fats). Just be careful of snacking and taking bites here and there.

I agree with Fluffy.
If you are drinking wine and eating potatoes and rice you are actually eating a lot of calories for non nutrient dense foods.
Change your diet to lean Proteins with vegetables and you will see better results.
You can do this!

That is exactly your culprit. I was told no rice, Pasta or bread for a year. The potatoes i was given clearance on but only if i was still hungry and only a small portion. ( like a small piece of a baked, or boiled) I had to eat veggies before the potato. I think the rice and potato together are too much. Swap those out for green Beans or some other non starchy veggie.. Keep us posted, you can do this and you got this girl!

It’s not a failure until you quit giving everything you can. If you’re still working to change, you’re in the game!

you are 100% correct. The sleeve is just a tool. We have to work it, but dont beat yourself up. Change your behaviors. FInda therapist that can help you get to the root of the food issues. It will help. Also find an accountability buddy. One that is local to you and that can help keep you accountable and not enable you. RId your home of the foods you should not be eating. Start with a clean slate. You can do this! you have the knowledge of what to do, now just implement it. Make yourself incentive boards.. WAY TO GO Boards, motivational boards..
Good Luck

domi got a reaction from Frustr8 in 3 days post-op questions
Yes. I had this. I found it was less if I just had ice chips and sugar free popsicles. I let them slowly melt and then swallow tiny sips. After a week it started getting better and much better after 2 weeks. You probably have swelling. Just take your fluids slowly. Good luck.

domi got a reaction from Frustr8 in Inspiration from those who stalled and turned it around?
Remember you cannot take care of others if you do not take care of yourself. I too have been struggling. I just posted a sign on my desk that says. "You matter, take care of yourself." This is reminding me that my health and wellbeing is important. I then went back to all of the reading material that prepped me for surgery. I did the Protein and Water for a week and then back to my original post surgery eating plan. I'm keeping it simple and packing all of my food and Snacks the night before. Even on high stress days, I can only eat what is in my bag. If I need to stress eat, I grab almonds or another protein. It's not easy, but I am worth it and so are you.

domi got a reaction from Frustr8 in Major buyers remorse😭
The first week is the worst. I only sucked on ice chips the first week. Everything was painful and I could not take pain meds because they would come back up. The second week I lived on ice chips, popsicles and warm chicken broth. For some reason Water was too painful. By the 3rd week, I think the swelling went down and I was finally able to drink water. Just keep an eye on your Fluid intake. If you notice you are getting dehydrated call your surgeon. I no longer have buyers remorse.

domi got a reaction from Frustr8 in Need some advice
I was exactly this way at 8 months. I pulled out all of my nutrition notes and acted like I was prepping for surgery. I did Protein Shakes and fluids for 1 week and then started back to eating small meals again choosing Protein first and no bread. This helped reset my mind again. This is a journey, not a sprint. WE will fall down. Just pick yourself up and try, try again. You can do this!! Remember you are worth it!!

domi reacted to Lazarus Bishop in Numbness in Outer Right Thigh After Surgery
Honestly you might be onto something with the magnesium. The numbness comes and goes in terms of severity, but I did add a magnesium supplement and it seems to improve things but I need to conduct a more scientific test. It's still weird this started immediately after surgery. I have since started having a similar problem on my left side but no where near as severe.
I don't see my surgeon until mid-January, so I'll see then.

domi reacted to J San in For all who need a kick up the butt!
To me if I view it as a gift, it's because of the fact that these surgeries exist. The fact that we had the surgery was a choice. With making that choice we chose to do what we had to do to succeed. After the fact, what we have to do becomes the next choice. What I got from the article was if you know what you have to do to succeed, whether it be crushing pills or drinking Protein Shakes ( Other methods for those that cannot physically do that) get over your complaining/crying and make the choice to do them. Otherwise your making the choice to fail.
I personally found it motivational and again thank you @Neversaynever for posting it.

domi got a reaction from Healthy_life in One Month Breakdown
You are not alone in your feelings. Many of else have felt the same. I needed to learn how to live with food and not think of it as entertainment. Food is fuel. I went to a psychologist to help me work towards this new relationship. This was very helpful and insightful to me. That being said, I have found some foods that help me not feel deprived. I love sugar free big sticks. They sell them at Stater Brothers and Walmart. Their consistency is perfect and they count as Fluid.
