Yeah- I think I have a slightly larger pouch, but it’s still drastically smaller than what my stomach was before.. so I just try to focus on filling it with healthy things and try to be mindful of calories.

I’m still kinda stalled in the low 220s. I can’t wait for the weather to break so I can get outsidddddde. Hoping to find a local hiking buddy to hit some trails with once it warms up.

My bff is having surgery next week. I’m nervous and I’m hoping her journey goes as smoothly as mine has, otherwise I’m afraid she’ll resent me for inspiring her to go through with it. We’ve had some pretty open/honest conversations about my journey so it’s not like I’ve pressured her or told her I thought she should do it. However, I am positive that, barring any complications, she will absolutely be successful, because my girl can commit to things. Just wish she didn’t live 3 hours away!

I forgot to take a before, but it basically had a few pieces of that chicken and a little more cucumbers/tomatoes. But the chicken (pictured in the pan was amaaazing)! It’s food cart (halal cart) style chicken, with s
White sauce (some concoction of Greek yogurt and spices) and a little Harissa over a salad.

The dressing was 1.25 cups plain whole milk Greek yogurt, two table spoons of mayo, a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, a teaspoon of sugar (could probably use a sugar replacement, but I didn’t because it was so little), a teaspoon of salt, pepper, a little garlic powder, a teaspoon of rosemary, like 2 table spoons of tarragon, and a dash of tumeric.

I didn’t have dill weed so I used tarragon in the dressing. Really wished I had dill weed!

Ooh I like the look of that. I might get some plain non fat not Greek yoghurt (so it's runny) to have a go at making a dressing like that.

I don’t have much to add, other than I’m super sorry for what you’re experiencing. The first six months my bp was on the low side (100/60) but now that my weight loss as slowed, it’s been around 110/70.

How frequently are you eating? Have you tried carrying some snacking almonds or a Protein Bar to help you when you start feeling lightheaded? I only mention this, as I’m pretty sure digestion increases blood pressure.

If it helps, I can tell you what made me pick him out of a lineup on Bumble: good photos (not mirror-selfies, with good lighting, photos that had been taken by another person or possibly by a tripod I guess), self-confident conversation when we texted, good sense of communication boundaries, seemed witty, we had similar interests. That’s what made me contact him. The number one thing I avoid in these profiles is any sense that I am going to have to spend the date cosplaying as the guy’s therapist. Stuff like “I just got out of a long term relationship”, “hoping someone will see my true value”, any vibe of self-pity or “prove you’re worth it”? I run like the damn wind. I have enough issues with the patriarchy without having to coax someone along during a first date.
He probably does have other dates lined up. Good luck to those ladies, because I had no qualms about throwing this particular fish back. But seriously - don’t focus on the other guys. They don’t matter to you, at all. They do not stand between you and women, and it’s not a good use of your time to focus on them.
I can’t speak for all women of course, but I do not open my dating app and think “I will contact five of the men on this app” and rate them against each other to select those five. I just select the guys who appeal to me. There’s no competition between the guys for me, never crossed my mind to think that way. I just contact the guys I like, based on the contents of their profile. Focus on presenting the most appealing (and truthful, obviously) version of you. And then be confident that you are likeable just the way you self-represented.
    Make sense?

Some stores do. J Crew and banana Republic both sizes them that way. Pants were still listed in ladies sizes, but the jeans were like men’s.

The fun thing was (aside from the Jean dilemma) that I basically could fit in clothes wherever we went, which is pretty neat for someone who at one point was getting close to being too big for the plus size shops and had to do most of my shopping online. 😁

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Glad it is treatable!

So I have a rather superficial gripe. Now that I can shop in normie stores, why the heck have the changed how ladies jeans are sized? Why the heck would I want to go from wearing a plus size 28 to a regular size 33 jean (actually- not sure if that’s the size I should be because I have no reference point for these hip sizing methods!) On that note- still too fat for jeans at some places. Not sure why it seemed stores went to 16 in basically everything but jeans (the largest size I found in most stores
was a 32, which google tells me equates to about a size 12).

Otherwise, I tolerate most things (in moderation). The only things that get me sick are when dry meats get stuck.

Can usually eat two small tacos.. basically either chicken or beef.. or sometimes chorizo.. Chicken can sometimes be a little tough for me to digest if it is over cooked. But I usually top them with salsa Fresca (tomato, onion, jalapeño, cilantro) and some low fat cheese. I’ll use shredded lettuce if we have anything.

The craziest thing is before surgery I was super picky... but now? Not so much.

I just wanted to share how absolutely ecstatic I am to have had this surgery.
I was never deeply unhappy with my weight pre-surgery. I mean, I wanted to be thinner, but lived a happy, successful, fulfilling life. For the most part it was the little things that annoyed me about being overweight, not being able to wear cute clothes, feeling self conscience when I order a non-salad at a restaurant, etc.. The only time my weight truly bothered me was while vacationing. I hated not getting the most out of my travel, and holding my friends back with the physical limitations my weight entailed.
I just returned from a fantastic vacation, and it occurred to me how dramatically happier my weight loss has made me. I didn't have any thoughts at the back of my head about being the "fat American". I walked for miles and miles everyday and it didn't phase me a bit, no foot pain, no exhaustion, nothing. I was the one suggesting to walk vs. take an Uber.
Thinking about it also made me realize how having all those negative thoughts about my weight being gone from inside my head has improved my daily life as well. I don't feel guilty when I sit next to someone in an airplane. I don't have to switch to flats as soon as possible after a meeting. I can wear pencil skirts and sheath dresses. When I see a stranger looking at me, I now assume it's for a good reason, not because my size makes me stand out. I no longer snore, and don't feel self conscience sleeping with my bf. Sooo many little things that really add up!

Spot on with questioning motives. I think mostly the surgery has had a positive impact on my marriage, but that hasn’t come without some self-work with being more open about my feelings and needs. I noticed it seemed like he was being more affectionate post-surgery than he had been before... and it was really starting to get under my skin.. the possibility that he might like me more now... However, when I brought this up during a “discussion” and mentioned it was a bit of a mindf*ck, he told me it was really due to changing jobs and being a lot less stressed. So yeah- glad I finally opened up about it and didn’t let it just fester (which I’m prone to doing).

I feel about the same. Any time I get attention makes me feel super awkward. But I’m pretty sure I did score a free tea two weeks ago for being cute, so that was neat.

I certainly fall into ruts. Breakfast is always coffee and a Protein Belvita bar. I know the bars aren’t super healthy, but it’s 10g of protein and the carbs are good morning energy. Plus they’re tasty and I can enjoy it while I go through my morning work emails. I try to go low carb after that.

lunch is always basically meat. There might be a little veggies involved, but I typically try to fill up on the protein parts of whatever I’m eating. I like getting the freezer lean cuisines or smart ones and basically eating everything but the carbs in them. It ends up being a good portion for my pouch once the carbs are removed.

Dinner’s always meat and veg. Usually chicken. I live for taco day. I could eat Mexican food and dishes (minus the rice or shells) every day and be a very happy girl.

I am seriously buckling down on the head hunger battle. Has anyone tried therapy for specifically this? I know the answer is “find something else to do” or “don’t do it”... but I’m wondering if anyone has had luck with therapists in finding strategies to not cave.

Oh man. My taco love is so strong I participated in team lunch, because they were going to a Mexican place. I never go to team lunch, because I’m a total “lunch bringer”, but the tacos were calling my name! Had taco al pastor refrained Beans and a beef enchilada. I’ve go the enchilada left and some beans for tomorrow.
