  1. Thanks! I’ll keep this in mind. I’m only allowing myself one in the morning so I don’t consume too much and have all day to hydrate
  2. I feel like I’m going to hell because I am a relapsed coffee addict who discovered mocha latte muscle milk rtd shakes 8 days post op and am loving the energy that 120mg of caffeine is giving me! I didn’t realize or check for caffeine when I bought them.. I just checked protein/fat/carbs/sugar... 😬
  3. Flat on my back with a few pillows behind my head/ shoulders. I am a side/stomach sleeper, too. I am 9 days out and can sleep on my side somewhat comfortably now...

    Food Before and After Photos

Oh man! I wanted to make the ricotta bake, but I’m not allowed red sauce yet! This was my consolation prize. 😊

    Food Before and After Photos

I didn’t measure it exactly when I put it in. It was likely closer to 2 tbsp, but may have been up to 4 tbsp (1/4 cup). It’s really dependent on your taste. I like strong cheeses.  Lol oops!  Just noticed that I left out cup in the original post and that you were probably just asking for clarification and not questioning whether or not it was too much Parmesan cheese.

Soft Proteins, yes. I used my own recipe. 2 eggs 15oz part skim ricotta 1/4 cup grated parmesan 1tsp ground garlic 1tsp black pepper Dash of basil 1tsp Italian seasoning 1tsp salt Mix all these well. Spoon 1 to 2 teaspoons into each spot on a mini muffin baking pan that you’ve sprayed with Pam. Sprinkle a touch of reduced fat mozzarella on top of each. Bake 20 minutes at 375. I’m thinking of making a bariatric cooking/recipe blog. I love cooking and being inventive and really want to stay within my approved foods. So it may be neat!

I can finally participate!!!! I made some low-fat ricotta bites and they are ahhhmazing! Also- I made so many, because I’m bringing some to my surgery buddy to try!

Best way to introduce eggs into the diet

For me- after only drinking protein shakes and water for two weeks- nearly anything would be appetizing. But yes- it is delicious! Also- I really, really love seasoning things and am not a fan of bland food!

    Pre-op diet question. Please help!

The high protein pre op and post op diets left me constipated (never had an issue prior). I’ve picked up some smooth move tea and that seems to really help move things.

Best way to introduce eggs into the diet

My first soft food this morning was egg salad. I made it with light mayo, mustard, paprika, onion powder, white pepper, black pepper and salt. It was the best teaspoon and a half of egg salad I have ever had in my life.

How often do you weigh yourself?

Every morning I weigh my “naked weight” first thing. Sometimes I’ll do it through out the day... since I’m home now. I really need to get back to work so I can stop obsessing. 😂😂
  12. Also- you look great and remember- how people treat others usually has more to do with how they’re feeling internally.
  13. I wonder if she’s insecure about your new figure? Like is she worried you won’t love her now cause you lost weight? I have heard this surgery can do a number on marriages, because of all of the emotional stuff we go through.
  14. Had my post op appointment today. They said everything was great! I have some weirdness from having a surgery like toe numbness- but they didn’t think it was from this surgery specifically and may be from laying on the table weird or whatever. They prescribed some b1 vitamins in case it is due to a vitamin deficiency. I am down 17lbs since day of surgery, 29lbs down from when I got home from the hospital. Has anyone else not been given a goal weight? I forgot to ask if they had one for me. Personal goal would be 170lbs (which is probably still overweight for my height!). I can have cottage cheese, yogurt, ricotta, and eggs starting tomorrow. I just made up some egg salad and had a teeny taste and can’t wait for my teeny tiny teaspoon of it tomorrow!!! 😬😬😬
  15. @ylime so sorry for your loss! My condolences and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
  16. I had gas pain in the hospital as well and mine did not give out gas-x either. I used some when I got home, though. The days in the hospital were tough, but I am 9 days post op and can tell you it gets better soon!
  17. Have you tried the protein waters? My surgery buddy struggled with shakes at first and was able to handle the premier protein water better.

It’s hard to look at these. I can’t wait until I’m onto real food again! I’ve been dreaming of chicken salad.. and of getting to the stage where I can do ricotta bakes.. and maybe even rice-less burrito bowls...
  19. Good luck to those joining the post-surgery club today!

    Tracking app suggestions?

I had used the complete diary button, because it will tell you your projected weight in five weeks if you continue eating that amount. It’s a neat little bonus. I am one week post op and have no calorie goal per say, just a list approved foods with protein and fluid goals.

Thanks so much! I’ll check out Baritastic!

    Vitamix

I, too, have a Ninja that I bought either as a woot or amazon deal last Christmas. I looked at getting a Vitamix when I saw everyone raving about them, but honestly it’s a lot of money for something that that would only get used heavily for a short term (in my case). That said, my Ninja has been killllllling it. Oh- I also put a ban on us buying any more Kitchen gadgets, cause we don’t have the storage.

How often have you gotten sick?

One week out and I threw up/dry heaved on day 2 in the hospital. After that, they loaded me up on nausea medication for the rest of my stay. Haven’t had any issues at home.

    July Gastric Bypass?

Best of luck to you and you’re going to do great!
  25. Thank you! My post-surgery lack of hunger has faded. I’m now on my 3rd or 4th sugar free popsicle of the day. Soft foods can’t come soon enough. 😂
