  1. Went from 44F to 34C-D on a 5’1” frame. I go back and forth on wanting a lift. Not interested in implants. They’ve always been droopy but now they’re empty-droopy 😅 We’ll see. Stomach is up first -then we’ll see how I feel after the healing from that.
  2. I lost 15lbs on the 2 week liquid preop diet. Mine was 3 protein shakes a day. It was a hangry time period for me 😹
  3. Keep at it! I too am finding it difficult to get the last of the pounds off. The stalls are long but upping my exercise and being vigilant on my food intake seem to be helping along with riding the stalls out. I’m hoping to be out of the ‘overweight’ BMI by my 2 year surgiversary in October.

    Non Scale Victories

A couple NSV’s for spring! I ran 11 miles today 🙌🏽 Still working towards that 13.1, but I’m taking my time and preventing injuries along the way. I also ran a 33 minute 5k. My next goal will be to run one under 30minutes. I’m able to run up 4 flights of stairs at work to get to bed meeting (I’m an ER nurse) and only be semi-winded. I used to dread walking up even my own stairs in my house (I seriously would avoid going upstairs at all costs) and now it doesn’t really bother me. Still working toward the goals on the scale at 18 months out so any little NSV keeps the motivation going. 🧡 Shout out to my slow losers, not getting to goal before 1 year post op doesn’t mean you aren’t working just as hard.

Six months post-op+ : The Sophomores Thread

I have my next check up in a little less than 2 weeks (17mos post op) and I was kind of down on my self about not being at goal yet. I’ve been working out/ IF but my body is hanging onto these last 20lbs for dear life. I know it’s just a stall and they get longer the further out you get but it’s still frustrating when you hit one. 😒
  6. Trying for a 20:4 today/ tomorrow. My difficulty is with diet drinks. I crave diet iced tea like there’s no tomorrow. 🙈

    Post Op Bra Size

Went from a 36DD pre weight gain to 44F at my heaviest and now a 34C and still shrinking 😭. All that’s left is pretty much sagged skin with very little breast tissue. I’m only 5’1 and small framed so I’m not looking for breast implants but a lift is in my future once I hit goal. 🤦🏽‍♀️
  8. I get dizzy when I have too many carbs. Im over a year out and probably could eat a small serving of spaghetti but if I overdo it, it makes my pouch feel like it’s going to explode and negative conditioning is very real so I stay away. 😂 When I make spaghetti for my family, I eat maybe 1/4 cup of noodles and a small serving of sauce/ sausage. Anything beyond that and the unpleasant dizziness kicks in... Just not worth it. 😅 I usually go to the gym or for a walk during dinner on spaghetti night. Desperate times calls for desperate measures.

Casually training 😅 I refuse to commit to one until I hit 10 miles with AT LEAST a sub 12 min/mi pace. The fall half marathon near me kicks everyone off who doesn’t keep under 14min/mi and I would be mortified/filled with rage if it happened to me. 😣

I understand completely! I felt great until mile 6 then I was like “okay this isn’t fun anymore 😭🤬”. It’s going to take some serious work to get to 10 and 13 miles and I’ll have to figure out at what point to start adding some fuel/water during the run and what won’t cause cramping. It’s been a fun/painful journey for sure 😅

    I ran 8 miles today! 🤮🥳

    breadBREADbreadBREADbreeeaaadd

I don’t allow bread in my house and if I buy it for the kids, I make sure it has raisins in it. 🤢 I understand the trigger. Mine is chocolate. I LOVE high quality, pure milk chocolate (or with champagne infused 🥴). I’ve come to realize that it just can’t be in my house. We all have our vices, it’s just a matter of drawing a line in the sand and not crossing it. 💚
  13. I make myself face the scale everyday to keep myself accountable. I may not log every weight in MFP, but I know what the number is. I also don’t count it as a true gain unless it’s there for 3 days and I don’t beat myself up for gains the week before my period. It’s not for everyone but it helps me. Part of the reason I was able to gain so much weight in the first place was because I was in denial about the number on the scale. Also I’m over a year post op, so it’s important for me to be more diligent in preventing regain.
  14. Mint flavored gas-ex chews. Life saver in the beginning! I used to get horrible gas pains that felt like chest pressure. I walked loads after surgery but still had the pains and those really helped.

I’m taken aback at how many more clothing choices there are in nonplus sizing. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions finding clothes that not only fit, but I actually truly like. It’s been fun finding my own signature style!

    Missing you

Honestly? I miss Pepsi. I loved the bubbly-ness of it. And REAL sweet tea. The diet tea is ok, but it’s not the same. But I’m finally ok with that. If that makes sense. 🙂

    Highest weight

I’m 5’1” and while I dream of being out of the overweight category (132), I’ll be content with the 140’s. I’m in the 160’s currently at 14 months out and I have definitely had to clean my eating back up and be mindful of everything I take in. It’s definitely had to realize that this is a marathon and not a race! I also had my BMR tested and it’s at 1400 calories. It was kind of a reality check for me that: “okay.... you are essentially the height of a large child. You NEED to eat like you’re 5’1” for the rest of your life”.

    Let's Track Our Miles!

Last week I clocked in 28.7mi of walking/ running. So far this week I’m at 20mi. Today I plan on running 1.25mi and waking at the park with a friend for 2.5mi. Yesterday I ran 10k so I have to be kind to my body today 😂

I ran 10km yesterday. Last year around this time I couldn’t even run a mile without stopping! Next running goal is 10miles. 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️
  20. Total foodie here! I still eat out although the thrill isn’t what it used to be. I’m also much more selective. Hubby and I share plates a lot or I pack it up and have leftovers for days. I still cook my family’s favorite meals and experiment with Pinterest recipes, but I notice I’m not as set on the kids/ hubby finishing their portions. I also stick to my 1/2-3/4 cup portion. When I finish it, I’m done eating, regardless if I feel “hungry” or not. And if kid say they’re full, they’re full (and if they ask for a snack 5 minutes later, the answer is NO 😂!) I had RNY and I also do not dump. Strangely enough, I’ve always been insulin sensitive and had dumping syndrome prior to surgery but I have not dumped since surgery.

    Non Scale Victories

Two major NSV/ surgery victories today! I got my swabs to become part of the bone marrow donor registry. I had a friend die from cancer a few years ago who was unable to find a bone marrow match and he asked that friends join the registry so that other cancer patients could find matches. I was over their BMI limit and it really upset me that I couldn’t donate. I finally meet the BMI requirements and was able to send my swabs in today! Second NSV. I tried to get an IUD two years ago after my son was born but the doctor was unable to locate my cervix for insertion due to my obesity (we’re talking BMI of almost 60). Today I finally had my consult appointment for IUD placement!
  22. Broccoli. Last time I ate it, it was stuck for 3 hours until I drank warm Water and immediately threw it up undigested. It was well cooked too. Random things give me the slimies. It’s more about how fast I eat as opposed to what I eat.
  23. Finishing up my first week of IF and I can’t thank you guys enough! My stall seems to breaking (after 1 1/2 months). Anyone else get diarrhea after a 20:4 day? Not complaining at all since I’m usually at the extreme other end of the spectrum but I was just curious. I did eat half of a 6 inch meatball sub from subway (still will be under 50g carbs for the day) so I’m thinking that was the trigger.
  24. Been doing some IF for the past week (wasn’t expecting the headaches *whines*) and decided to break my fast with some Tomato and mozzarella salad 😋. Ignore the writing, I still weigh my food to log it in MFP.  No afters! Craving fulfilled.

    October 2018 Sleevers

My scale stopped too. I’ve been stalled for at least a month and a half. I’ve been running a lot more so I suspect if has something to do with not taking in enough calories. I also started some intermittent fasting so we’ll see if that helps any! My clothes have felt better during the stall, so that’s something!
