Polymorphing reacted to BayougirlMrsS in SEX, SEX, SEX!!!
@MNgirl1234 I experienced the same thing years ago. We were married for 26 years. The last 5-6 were hell. When we first got together i was about 100#.... (5'2") So i was very tiny. I started gaining in my 30ies and put on 132#. In my mind the reason we stopped having sex was my weight. I now know that it was not. I thought if i only lost weight he would find me attractive again and want to be with me.... NOPE. If anything it got worse. He would say the most horrible things after i lost 89#. I was too thin, my face wasn't pretty anymore because you could see some wrinkles, I looked like a "bag of bones"..... and of course i was losing weight to "find another man".... I could stand naked in front of him and he would look around me or tell me to move. It was devastating...... I started getting attention from other men/woman and it became intoxicating.... I was finally getting the praise and reassurance... but not from the ONE person i wanted it from..... We only had sex maybe 1-2 times a year. I was starved for affection, as i am a very touchy person.... I craved attention from him in every way. The last few years i strayed from my marriage. I told him that i needed him, needed attention, needed affection, and yes..... NEEDED SEX. Honestly, i was "self-satisfying" every day. He didn't care..... so i told him, if he didn't i would find someone who would.... and i did.
Not saying it was the right thing to do..... but what's done is done and i own up to it. We tried counseling, but honestly, it was too late... I had shut down and checked out.
We divorced...... I dated..... I found the love of my life. Happier than i have ever been. I think i was around 47-48ish when i decided i was not going to live the next half of my life like that.... so i "got off the pot" so to speak.... so glad i did.

I'm absolutely SHOCKED at how many times I get hit on now vs before weight loss. Is that how normal people have to live?! It was nice at first but honestly it stresses me out and distracts me now. HOW DO I FIX THIS. Anyone else going through the same thing? It took me a while to realize all those people have been mildly flirting till my friend pointed it out because I just thought everyone was nice (I recently moved to a new city lol). It's ridiculous because I never thought my looks had *that* much to do with it. Jeez. It's not like I'm more confident now or anything either.

I've noticed this too, unfortunately not any welcome attention. :c Mostly just men sending me pictures of their genitalia on Facebook, to which I reply with pictures of hot dogs being sliced up.

Sleeved on the last day of Feb 2018, and hit 70 pounds lost! I know there are people out there who lost more in the same period of time but I am honestly super happy about my progress. I've been wasting a shitload of money though in buying new sizes of clothes because they look terrible on when they're one size too big, except for certain items of clothing.

Polymorphing got a reaction from jacon in Sweet potato buffalo chicken cheesy fries!
From the title, it sounds like the most unhealthy thing ever, but it is NOT! It is the equivalent of baking sweet potatoes along with poached chicken topped with a little cheese LOL.
I bake sweet potato fries in the oven till they are crispy, I get the crinkle kind from McCain. The serving size is 3 oz (160 calories) but that's enough for two meals (if not more).
I then cook some poached and shredded chicken (no more than 2 oz) along with a few tablespoons of Buffalo wing sauce till it's nice and coated.
In a nice individual serving baking plate, I layer as follows:
1- The crispy sweet potato fries.
    2- Finely shredded sharp cheddar.
3- The chicken with its sauce.
4- Mozzarella cheese and sharp cheddar.
I broil it till the cheese melts and it's ooey gooey and golden, then drizzle with a little bit of homemade greek yogurt ranch dressing. This would be amazing with bleu cheese crumbles too.
    IT IS SO GOOD!

The hospital I go to doesn't even recommend a pre-op diet. My doctor said that no amount of restraint pre-op will prepare you for the new lifestyle post-op and honestly eat whatever you want, maybe you'll call that bad advice, but he was right. I'm a little over 3 months out, lost 48 pounds. Don't fret it. What I do now, and the type of restraint I do now is vastly different from anything I've worked with before.

There is definitely a difference, but please, do not be discouraged. I had almost ZERO people comment on my weight loss till I hit EXACTLY the 3 month mark, then everyone was suddenly like "Oh you look like you've lost some weight", like, everyone said it to me on the same weekend hahaha. It took them almost 45 pounds to notice Just keep on keeping on and I promise it'll happen.

I have had a fantastic week!
My weight loss is finally becoming noticeable. Three colleagues I had not seen in over a year this week commented that I’ve lost a lot of weight. It was all separate meetings, so it’s not like they could discuss amongst themselves.
I’m finally getting too small for my clothes. First I had to get work slacks the next size down. This week I was on a trip and packed a couple of dresses and jeans that fit just a week or two ago. The jeans were way baggy and the shirt was too long. The dresses looked ok, but it were quite loose on me. I ordered some jeans in 1 and 2 sizes down. There were here when I got home, and the ones 2 sizes down are what fit! The only downside is the thought of the expense of replacing or altering my wardrobe.
I misconnected on my flight home and instead of getting my upgraded seat, I got stuck in a middle seat, exit row. Not only are middles always awkward. Exit rows have solid arm rests, instead of the moveable arm rests that can be raised and lowered. And because the seats have the solid arm rests with the tray table in them, it makes the seats even narrower. I usually avoid these seats at all cost, but today I had no choice. I was so surprised and happy when I fit in the seat and was completely comfortable!
It’s getting much easier to lie to people about WLS. I don’t know if lying is a good thing, but at least I’m not stressing about people asking why I’m not eating.
    Oh, and this happened!

64 days post op, and 35 pounds down. I feel like my weight loss is slowing down but when I somehow get busy and forget all about it, my weight seems as if it is suddenly dropping. Two weeks ago I started planning a weekend trip and picked out the outfits, and now one of the dresses is TOO big! LOL. I dug in my closet to find another outfit, saw something that wouldn't even button up back when I was pre-op and thought that there's no way it fits. It fit like a glove with some room to breathe! This surgery is truly a miracle. There are many ways you could slip up, sure, but it does 90% of the work for you.

Mine was 3 days clear liquid, a week of full liquids, 2 weeks of blended foods, and 2 weeks of soft foods. After the full liquids stage, I was 2-3 days early to every stage because I'm impatient. For what it's worth, I consume now less calories on solid foods (that includes gourmet foods from restaurants and snacks) than I did on blended foods. I was one of those who some foods felt incredibly easy to eat, and other foods truly showed me how restricted my sleeve is. Foods like yogurt, Soups, any beverages including thick Protein Shakes, I could have endlessly, luckily I am not a fan of any of those things now ever since my post op diet.

I haven't felt the need to log anything since surgery, but I am now almost 8 weeks post up and calories are starting to creep up... especially because I've been terrible and having liquid calories and frozen yogurt and slider foods. Today was the first day I felt out of control, and I retroactively logged all of my food: 1500 calories. Yes. Only 8 weeks in. I could sit around and think of myself as a failure or I could just pick myself up and realize that I don't have the insane restriction I had anymore and that food choices DO matter. Coincidentally, it is my lowest Protein % day. I am going to adhere to that protein first rule from now on. Despite being at a 500 calorie deficit I feel terrible. It feels even more terrible than my 4000 calorie binges back in the day.

I have to say I pretty vehemently disagree with you on this. I do not have a goal of eating perfectly. I do not need to eat perfectly in order to be successful. Being perfect is unrealistic for me, and I think unrealistic for the vast majority of people.
I am succeeding in my goal of making much healthier choices. I have been craving mac & cheese for weeks. I have been tempted by it on a dozen different restaurant menus (I eat out very frequently for work). I resisted those because I knew that restaurant versions would be particularly unhealthy. The version I made last night only had 3 ingredients, and 2 of those, fat free evaporated milk & Protein Pasta, were better choices then I would have made in the past. The three ingredients also let me know exactly what the calories and macros would be. I also knew that I had the calories to spare. Before the mac & cheese I had only consumed 290 calories that day, so I had 414 yesterday w the mac & cheese. And in the 7 days prior, including work travel and an Easter buffet, I averaged 236 calories/day. Once I was full last night, I then threw out the rest of what I had made, so I couldn't go back to it today.
@FluffyChix I read the meal plans and pics and recipes of what you are eating, and I think, "oh that would be a bad idea for me" For ME, the portion sizes are too large, and the timing of meals is too frequent. But I didn't get on your threads and tell you "you will become a statistic and will be back here in 2-3 years saying, "Help me Obiwankenobe. Help me! I've regained 60lbs and I am eating large portions and am hungry every 2 hours"". Because I know that just because something wouldn't work for me, doesn't mean it wouldn't work for you.
There is no one size fits all answer to losing and maintaining weight. Everyone has to find what works for them, and what they can maintain long term.

I've had good days and bad days, now that I am starting to get busier and that I am back at work, it is SO hard to 1) remember to eat, 2) be able to eat more than 200 cals in one "meal". I thought it was going to be as easy as it was when I had so much free time at home and I would literally eat all day. All of my foods are soft and on the borthy side of things, despite me having no problem with solid food, but solid food seems to fill me up from one tablespoon and that is ridiculous.
But honestly I am enjoying this. Makes me feel less guilty about eating that 110 cal energy bite I make at home using calorie dense ingredients like dates and almond butter.

Polymorphing got a reaction from GreenTealael in Tempted to consume less protein shakes.
I am in my sixth week post op. I've finally found a Protein Powder I can tolerate and I've been starting every morning with a 280 calorie/36 grams Protein beverage, and that really helped me hit my protein goals. However, yesterday I did not have time to make my Protein Shake yesterday and I ended up feeling the same way (i.e. energized and not fatigued) and not overeating after, eating only 600 calories instead of 900. And I like that. I cannot help shake off how easy it was for me to consume 900 calories with the Protein Shakes so early and it made me panic.
Anyway, the day after, I've had a smooth bowel movement (I was constipated before), broke through the weight stall, and woke up feeling lighter. I was thinking maybe the protein shakes were making my problems worse. Does anyone else have the same thing? Would consuming a protein shake every other day instead of every day help even if I am not hitting my protein goals every day? Also I severely dislike Premier Protein now and anything that comes premade, I know it's less calories I just cannot stomach it anymore. It's too sweet.

I CAN FINALLY HAVE pureed FOODS! My NUT emphasized that all foods must be put through a blender or a food processor for two weeks. So when I google search for "pureed" foods I get "mashed with a fork till soft", oh well.
I just made a pot of autumn carrot and sweet potato Soup following this recipe and replacing the butter with coconut oil: https://www.onceuponachef.com/recipes/autumn-carrot-and-sweet-potato-soup.html
I also squeezed a lemon after it was done and added some smoked spanish paprika.
AND IT IS TO DIE FOR. I had 4 tablespoons though and got completely full. Did NOT experience this with yogurt or other liquids. Wow.
