    Any April 2018 Sleevers?!?!

My liquid diet starts tomorrow for surgery on 4/4! I woke up yesterday with swollen gums and they are pretty painful in a specific area. Does anyone know if I can see a dentist and get a cleaning a week before surgery? Would this affect me at all? I definitely don’t want my surgery day to get pushed back because of something like this and I’m hoping it gets better on it’s own but what if it doesn’t?

    Any April 2018 Sleevers?!?!

Yesss! Bariatric pal makes a protein meal replacement and it’s soup instead of a shake and I think it would be nice to have that as a savory alternative. They have pretty good reviews too but I think there are other brands that make them too.

@olivia2018 the only thing I’ve stocked up on is premier protein drinks and I’ve tried a couple flavors that I liked but I want to find a good chicken broth protein supplement

    Any April 2018 Sleevers?!?!

Hi @brookeville777! Isn’t it such a crazy feeling! When do you start your pre op diet? I totally get how you feel my BMI is 59. But you just have to remember that the people who perform these surgery’s do it all week long all year and have very low rates of complications overall. The benefits outweigh the risks in my opinion. I’m sure I will be scared getting closer
  9. Hey guys! I’m having surgery in two weeks!! Looking for anyone have surgery in April that would want to maybe chat and keep in touch or share suggestions. I have my pre op and post op diets but would love to know what kind of recipes you all are planning to try or what protein supplements everyone is planning to have. Also anyone have to drink Gatorade right before surgery? I thought that was wierd. anyone know what vitamins we should have after surgery?? I’ve been waiting to hear back from my nutritionist because I don’t meet with her till after surgery but I want to know ahead of time so I can start buying some. thanks!

    Pre op diet! SOS

Now that just sounds nuts! I’ve been reading a lot online and I know the liquid diet helps to clear your system and make sure there aren’t any chunks of food in your system so I get that. A protein based diet with zero carbs and sugar puts us in ketosis and basically helps our fatty liver shrink so it’s easier to perform the surgery. If you don’t even know when your surgery is going to be than I think it’s crazy to be on all liquid! The crazy thing about the pre op diet is that everyone has such different instructions!! Some people do a liquid diet two week before surgery and I’ve talked to someone that only had a liquid diet 3 days before surgery! I wish there was a cookie cutter answer for this

    Pre op diet! SOS

Hi everyone! I finally have my surgery date set for April 4th! I set everything up with the surgery coordinator at my surgeons office and then asked what I should start eating and she said “ ask your nutritionist.” I was pretty shocked by this. I was expecting a packet maybe, with a specific plan but nope nothing. She was kinda rude about me not choosing a nutritionist at the same hospital. Anyways my nutritionist has really been more of a therapist and hasn’t had experience with bariatric surgery patients. Does anyone still have their pre op diet plans that they could text/ email me a picture of? I’m struggling to find info on the internet and I want a good plan to follow. also anyone here struggle with low sugar drops while trying to eliminate carbs/ sugar? This week I’ve tried to reduce sugar and carbs and feel a little dizzy, shaky in the afternoon so I end up eating something sugary to take the shaking away. Any advice?
  12. Hi! I’m Nicole. I have my consult tomorrow and would love a buddy to ask questions to and help rid me of some anxiety. The whole “forever” part of this surgery is really freaking me out and I’ve read all kinds of wierd reviews. I hope the benefits outweigh the struggles
  13. Hi everyone! I have a consultation for WLS tomorrow and I’ve always been terrified of surgery. I’m 340lbs 5’4 25 years old. I’m scared of what it’s like after surgery. I work in retail, how much time will I need off? Will I feel weak and dizzy like I’m going to pass out? Will I feel sick all the time? Will the benefits outweigh the risks? I have anxiety disorder and this has really stopped me from losing weight in the past and working out. Anyone with bad anxiety here? Any help, feedback would be greatly appreciated!! thank you!
