I can't seem to get an answer about converting from the Sleeve to the RYN. I am needing it done do to GERD I also have a hiatal hernia. I am curious to know what the weight loss is like with a revision. I have already lost about 160 lbs but would like to lose 60 more. I need to lose 80 to be a healthy BMI

I had VSG surgery on 3/18/19 had one week of smooth sailing and then all hell broke loose had every complication you can think of. I was subsequently converted to a bypass of 4/11/2019 and I am grateful that I have had no issues at all other then I still am having issues meeting my Protein goals. The good news is i have lost 53 pounds and I am probably only another 30 from goal weight.

Hi all! So I had the sleeve done in Nov 2015 and due to GERD and some weight regain, I am having my revision to Bypass in 2 weeks. I've started my pre-op diet and was wondering for anyone who was sleeved then revised to bypass..is there anything I should know before surgery? I want to hear any experiences, success stories, regrets, etc? Thanks!

Had revision in February due to GERD and narrowing esophagus. Absolutely no acid reflux anymore.

They never pay what is billed out.
But, 350k seems a little crazy!

I have the same due to my sleeve 3 years ago. I go on Monday for my revision for the gastric bypass.

Thanks! My journey started a little differently. My gyno referred me to the bariatric clinic when I saw her in October and I was at my highest weight, 230. I have pcos and went off birth control for two months...instant 15 lbs.
I called my insurance before my consult and found out about the 6 months. I made an appointment with my primary 2 weeks before the consult in November and have been seeing him every month since.

Why did you pay out of pocket, are they in network?
I have Anthem BCBS and they have paid for everything. I still had to meet my out of pocket max first of course. My surgeon’s office was able to get the nutritionist and exercise consults covered. My endoscopy ended up costing me maybe $1200 because I hadn’t met my deductible yet. It’s been a smooth process so far.
just waiting on this 6 month rule... anyone know if it actually has to be 180 days?

I think that happens to all of us. I am starting to see before and after pictures of women 4 months out that are my size and it’s asking me realize how quickly the weight will come off. A little nerve racking. So much change so quickly

Surgery getting close and I have to admit I’m a bit nervous. I find myself wondering if this is for me, if I should just hit the gym and get really focused on healthier choices. [emoji848]

Hello all, Im Dionne, as a newbie here. Im currently on my last required visit of 5 of 6 months required by insurance on 4/25. So looking foward for my approval date of May 21 or 22, 2018.. so far so good. Good luck to you all.

i heard from my insurance company on friday that i have been approved...just waiting for the surgeon's office to talk and schedule!!
