you will be thankfull when that first post op bowel movement comes and you dont pray to god to die cause that hurts so much. Dehydration is both dangerous and painfull post op. Hitting your Water goal IS a pain in the ass but so is dehydration.
After a while you will get a good feel for how much liquid you need daily and it will get easier. good luck
I know. I have set a timer for every 15 minutes to drink Water. I have surgery on March 22. I am really trying to set a schedule. Today was good except for headache. Not caffeine at all....

Day one of pre-op liquid diet... well I didn’t stop caffeine completely before I started. I did cut back a lot. So today since I’ve had non I have a headache from Hell! Hopefully by day 3 or 4 it will get better.

I just got my VSG done in Jan from Dr. Yu at the same clinic! They’re awesome!
Nice! How are you doing? My first consult was Jan 4. I just got insurance approval now waiting for them to call and set up everything. It has been a long wait. Finally have insurance that will cover it.

I try to avoid going anywhere downtown. Traffics really freaks me out! TLC is a straight shot for me from where I live outside of Houston. I do not even have to get on freeway. Alameda rd even though lots of lights...

I just received my insurance approval. They are suppose to call me either today or next week to set pre-op and surgery up. I am hoping for end of March beginning of April

Hey y’all. I have united health care choice plus. My deductible is $1750 and my max out of pocket is $5000. I have an endoscopy scheduled for April and the hospital told me I’ll have to pay $1900 because of my deductible and 20% coinsurance. So how much will I have to pay for the surgery up front? Will it all be billed to me because I’ve met the deductible with the endoscopy?
sorry if this is a silly question but I’m fairly young and don’t know anything about health insurance.

Ask your insurance company directly... they can tell you about the hospital and give you a ballpark figure of what it might cost you

The center I went to uses two different hospitals. One in network the other out. They asked me which one I wanted to use. I said dumb question I have to use the in network hospital otherwise I cannot afford to have surgery. Duh! Lol

Well at the end of 3 days I am down 7lbs. I have found that I like warm broth while family eats dinner. Makes me think I’m eating something good. I have cooked several big meals for the group (5 family members). I am proud to say I have not even cheated once, not even licking the spoon! Good luck to everyone. My surgery will be next week
