Ps: yes I’ll ask my doctor at my next appt.
I think I read somewhere that is a Vitamin C issue.... but cannot remember where it was that I saw this.

Nice job. I am 5’2” started out at 260lbs down 100lbs 6 months for surgery. Doc says I can get down to 130-135lbs that seems really skinny to me.

My weight loss has slowed down to 2-3 lbs a week now. I have not started a weight lifting/cardio workout yet. Should of done that in the beginning because of the loose skin.

I am 5’2” and I weighed 260 and BMI was 47.6 before I had my surgery 3/22/18. I now weigh 168. I take it day by day and weigh once a week on Thursday which was surgery day. I am 47 yrs old. My doctor say I can get down to 130 but I am shooting for 145/150 because I think i’d look to thin at 130

I had to start taking meds 3 weeks after surgery for reflux. Now 6 months after I take it daily. Doctor said it will be my new normal... so I doubt you’ll get to stop taking meds. He told me it is one of the side effects of the gastric sleeve.

As surgery anything I drank had to be room temp. Nothing cold because it hurt. 5 months later I can drink cold drinks.

Change to another dr. If your dr is not with you then he is against you. But you can always ask him.... and he says no then ask why. My pcp has been with me for over 28 yrs. they know everything i’ve Tried!!! And failed

I waited a week to look (this morning) after my surgery. I found the number exciting, but I know it wont always be this substantial. . .
Does getting on the scale daily/weekly/ect get anyone down?
Or do you find it motivating?
Is there a sweet spot frequency wise?I weigh once a week on Thursdays (which was surgery day).

It depends on how things go and if you have a problem with anesthesia. However I had no issues but I think it took them more than an hour to release me after the procedure with recovery and filling out paperwork. They also tell you not to drive or make any important decisions since you were under and to go home and rest with someone watching you for the rest of the day.

I can usually get 3 oz of lean ground beef in before I start hot flashing and sweating! It’s intense. Lasts about 15 minutes.
Anyone have a reaction like this to any other foods? I’m just glad there are other Protein sources! 😂
I feel like that every time I eat. I do not feel sick or anything. I lay down to rest for 15 to 30 minutes then I feel fine. I wonder if my body is just working hard to digest.

I had the same thing happen. Mine was acid reflux and nothing to do with the hernia. It happens often with anything I eat or drink. I’ve talked to others and they say it is one of the side effects of have the sleeve done

I knew before surgery. He did a scope and found it several weeks before surgery. From what he said it is very common. Best of luck

I've also seen that some surgeons differ on when alcohol can be consumed after surgery. I only have to wait 6 weeks, but have seen that others say 3 or 6 months.
My surgeon said 6 months so I have a few months to wait. End of Sept beginning of Oct. looking forward to a Sangria

I think it is the not knowing how it will effect you. How fast it will be absorbed since you are really not suppose to eat and drink at the same time...

Eat grilled chicken if possible. I would of ate the mashed potatoes. Smooth easy to chew. I tried fried chicken but it made me feel horrible. Try Whataburger grilled chicken salad... Wendy’s also has salads

Mine started 3 weeks after surgery and it is a daily thing. I heard from others who have had gastric sleeve that it is one of the side effects.

I got up and walked and walked. My first time around the hospital floor I did either 3 or 4 laps. The next time I added 1 or 2 more laps to those. Felt good to be up instead of laying in the bed.

I never pushed the iv pain meds while in the hospital. The nurse would push it after she said your not using your pain meds. She would say you’ve paid for them since it is in iv Fluid so no refunds. I quit taking pain meds after I got home. Only took them the day of surgery and the next day. Once I got home I really didn’t feel I needed them.

Definitely go get fluids! Dehydrated for sure is my bet. You look great but not being able to eat 1 grape is not good. Need more Protein intake. Really need to talk to Dr maybe you have an obstruction that is restricting you food and drink intake. Glad to hear you get your Vitamins. I struggle getting mine.
I had surgery in March 2018. I have lots of Hair loss now. Which starting out with thin/fine hair already is disheartening.
