    January bypass buddies??

I’m right there with you @yes_anastasia, I also need to be more diligent with an exercise routine. Well... to be honest I do not have a routine anymore. I do good to make it to the gym at all in a weeks time. I know that my body needs it but I feel so mentally drained by the end of a work week that all I want to do is rest and do whatever I need to do around the house and nothing extra. On a side note. I am getting ready for a business trip and it calls for “casual business” attire... I have none... So I went shopping yesterday 😳. It is so weird for me to not go directly to the Big & Tall section. After getting some sizes together and trying on clothes that were to big 😬, I finally settled in to XL shirts and 36 waist pants! I was in denial at first and it took a while looking in the mirror to realize that this is who I am right now. Last July I was in 4XL shirts and 48 waist pants! To say I am happy about my progress is a little on an understatement! Just wanted to share! Happy losing y’all!! HW 370 CW 234.8 GW HEALTHY

    January bypass buddies??

Yesterday was my 6 month surgiversary. I didn’t hit the 100lb mark but I got pretty darn close! I’m down a total of 97 pounds as of today! To say I’m excited with this is an extreme understatement! HW 370 SW 340 CW 243 The big dude in the picture was me in 2007 😳 (weight unknown and didn’t really care at that point in time)

@MG1776 Amazing transformation brother! I had the same weight going in on surgery day as your starting weight. I hope that I can get close to your stats in a few months! Congratulations!

You also may need to increase your fluids, try to get in at least 64oz. If you are drinking protein drinks they also count towards your fluid total. I was using Miralax also, this helps to keep you somewhat regular. You will need more fluids if you take stool softeners like Colace.

Are you getting all of you protein in?

@deargh I’m not sure if twice in 5 weeks is normal, you may want to speak with your dr about that. Are you take Metamucil or any other fiber supplements? My first several weeks it would be normal for me to go once a week. I am now 6 months postop and I will have a bowel movement about 3 times a week.

    January bypass buddies??

Happy Independence Day to y’all fellow Americans!! I’m weighing in today at 245. That is an amazing 95 pounds down since surgery day! July 10 will be my 6 month mark. I’m hoping I can lose 5 pounds by then but that’s a lot to lose in a short time period. Wish me luck!

    January bypass buddies??

Sorry to hear about your marriage @MsTipps. I hope it works out for the best for you and the kids. I’m a firm believer in if you want something bad enough you will do whatever it takes to reach it. I guess all of us are in that boat or we wouldn’t have gone to drastic measures to lose some weight. I truly hope you make it over here one day. Who knows, your “Mr. Right” might be over here.

@MsTipps did you move across the pond to the States?

    January bypass buddies??

@yes_anastasia Are you walking and or exercising? I found that when I increased my activity level I naturally increased my water intake. When I officially started going to the gym I stalled for almost 3 weeks, that was extremely frustrating. Then when I started incorporating heavier weights I began seeing extreme slow downs. I realized I was trading fat for muscle but it was still difficult for me to accept this mentally. We will all see stalls, gains and other mental roadblocks along the way. I know you will push through this and will see much more progress in the future!

Well vacation went as expected. I ate more than normal and didn’t get my exercise in as normal. My weight has stalled and I am still the same as before vacation 😐. At least I didn’t gain I recon. hw 370 sw 340 cw 251

    January bypass buddies??

On vacation with mine and my sisters families at the beach, this has definitely been the most challenging week so far since the operation. I believe that I have done very well so far. We went to an ice cream shop the other night and I broke down and had a kiddie sized 🍦. It was kinda disappointing, it didn’t taste the same it was way to sweet. Yesterday I took everybody to Krispy Kreme and watched as everybody enjoy their 🍩 and I sat back and enjoyed a piping hot cup of decaf ☕️ . I find that the further I go on my journey, when we go out and I see/smell things that I use to go bonkers for, the cravings aren’t there anymore.

    January bypass buddies??

That sucks, I hope you can reel yourself back in. I went on my first business trip last week since the operation. I went to Texas for a week so I ended up eating mostly steak. I ordered the smallest filet cuts on the menu usually, I believe I did ok. Next week will be a challenge, going to the beach with the family. This will truly be a test of temptation.

    January bypass buddies??

Morning y’all! I’m sitting at 254 this morning! So that is a starting weight of 370, surgery weight of 340 with a total loss of 116 pounds as of today. To say I am happy is an understatement!

Sleeved on 1/10/2018. Down 112 so far.
  17. I am 5 months post-op and down 80 pounds so far. I am jogging on the weekends and hitting the gym for 4-5hrs a week. I am still slowly dropping 1-3 pounds a week. I feel as If I can do more and better if I focus more than I am on my diet. I am not following any certain type diet (low carb, keto, weight watchers...) but I do try and stay away from carbs as much as possible. I want to eat healthy and as clean as possible but still be able to not be tied to an app and a calculator. I am really bad at tracking my food via apps, to be honest I probably haven’t done this in two months. What are your favorite diet plans? Why do you like them? I have 60 pounds left to reach my goal and I would like to get there well before my 1 year point I am looking for something that can get me to my goal and that I can maintain after I reach my goal. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

265 for me today, 75 pounds down since surgery. It's been a long time since I've seen that number. I'd say atleast my sophomore year in high school... 17 years ago hw 370 sw 340 cw 265

That’s awesome to hear @MsTipps! Keep up the good work! I’m going to weigh in late. As of this morning I am at 271. That is a 99 pound loss for me since July 2017 and a 69 pound loss since my surgery on January 10 this year. I am looking forward to enjoying this summer with my family and actually getting out and participating in physical activities.

    January bypass buddies??

This past month has been super slow on the scale! I am guessing that this is due to hitting the gym regularly and lifting weights. I will trade fat for muscle, I’m ok with that. Anyways here’s my numbers... HW - 370 SW - 340 CW - 280 GW - Healthy

    2 week stall

I am hitting my water goal (64 oz) but I will increase it and see what happens. I do drink more when I am at the gym, usually 32-40 oz while there plus what I have during the day. I have considered eating more calories because of the cardio burning more but have yet to do that experiment. Thank you for your tips!
  22. I am 9 weeks post-op and down 40 pounds and feeling pretty good. The last two weeks I have been stuck. I dipped to 298 pounds one day but have maintained 301.6 for two weeks straight! I am wanting to beat 300 so bad!! I am getting my protein and getting 700-900 calories per day so I am not sure what the heck is going on. I have been going to the gym and doing cardio and light weights for about 4 weeks now. I was hoping it was just water retention, but for two weeks straight? What have you done to beat multiple week stalls?
  23. Tyson4834

    Water retention

Does the body retain more/less/not at all during combination weight training & cardio versus cardio only? Been struggling off and on with weight stalls/slow downs on the scale and was curious if my exercise routine may be to blame.
  24. 2 months out and 40 lbs down. I am starting to see a slight visible difference. My clothes are definitely starting to fit better.
