Katty got a reaction from Dii in Regain
    Hi everyone
hope everyone is doing well as they can in the current pandemic situation. I have been absent for a while, due to personal circumstances, I’m currently facing another difficult situation, and I would really appreciate some advice
I had a sleeve in January 2018, (abroad paid privately so have had no support or any help post surgery on return to the UK) initially I lost about 20 kg slowly over the year (from 95kg to 76kg) my weight loss stopped after the first year or so, however 3 years later im now 83 kg hungry all the time and feeling incredibly stressed and emotional and really worried where this is going, I have spoke to a few surgeons abroad, my options are a gastric bypass but im so worried that is this the right decision for me, my sleeve didn’t get me to my target of 55kg from 95kg, I only lost half and slowly regaining I’d really appreciate some advice /help/ experiences of other members
    Thankyou x

This may not sound like an answer about weight loss surgery to begin with but it is: are you familiar with ACE - Adverse Childhood Experiences study. Its a pretty amazing concept and I am going to dumb it up just to shorten this post. Basically its a few questions you answer and it gives you a numerically score and that score tells you how messed up you as an adult should be. I should have childhood amnesia (I do) and I its not just you.
If you are interested in a few books about healing your inner child and allowing yourself to heal as an adult I would love you send you some ideas. Private message me if you a reader or an audio book fan. Its pretty amazing how the body builds protection mechanisms as small children and adapts throughout life some in healthy ways and some unhealthy but all to survive ..... the human body is amazing.

first picture was me before I started my six-month supervised diet (2014). I think I was at my highest weight ever. Second picture (from 2017) is of me when I was two years out of surgery (this was before I had my skin removal surgery, though...I had that in Aug 2018 and March 2019). Last one was of me on my 60th birthday (last year). I've put on some weight since the 2017 picture - but excess skin is gone!

Katty reacted to goldenbarbie in Head hunger...
I was in hospital for 2 nights, so when I got home after surgery and started seeing commercials on tv I was craving everything. From wings and pizza to ice cream and cake. Honestly I think the head hunger was only there because I couldn’t eat and barely sip Water. When I got to my soft foods stage which took much longer than expected (month 3) I didn’t even think about bad foods twice cause I know I couldn’t eat it or I’ll get sick AND because I lost so much weight already I didn’t want to slow down the progress

Coping wise I just kept telling myself this is all temporary. I will be able to eat again soon and honestly now that I am able to eat anything I don’t look twice at those types of food. You’ll see with your sleeve how your body reacts to certain things. It will go away soon!!!! Stay strong [emoji4]
