I’m doing great , thanks . Just stared real puréed foods after liquids for 2 weeks . Love my scrambled egg in the morning . I put a little Water in the scramble and add 1/2 slice of American cheese . Makes the egg so soft and Delicious!! Goes down so easy !

Today is my 4th day post-op and now I can have non-clear liquids (includes nonfat yogurt)! I had nonfat yogurt this morning and it took me an hour to finish a cup of it, I didn't feel overly full or anything, is this normal?
I am glad I seem to be recovering, but the incision pain is still very much real.

    Hi all.

I survived! Friday was my sleeve day and today I'm home. The Dr didn't find a hernia after all, so that was good.

The first couple days were rough, but after the pain meds were adjusted, I'm doing much better. I was also able to get in the whole 8 ounces of Protein Drink over about 40 minutes.
I am so glad i never have to do Day 1 ever again. Ugh.

It's good to see so many of us doing wel.

Had sleeve this morning. Not as bad pain as I expected but very sore. Walked the hall & in room. Eating ice chips every 15min. I hope I continue on this path of low pain & that I don't wake up in the am with bad pain.

Hugs and prayers to all who've had surgery already. I pray you are feeling better each day and able to accomplish post-surg goals with ease!!
To all who are still yet to come in February! Remember the liquid diet from hell is only temporary and we can endure anything for 2 weeks! I can attest that once you're on the other side, the Liquid Protein phase is a cinch to undertake. No hunger, easy satiety with the liquids, no feeling of deprivation or food angst! It's hard to imagine such a severe about face once post-surgery but it's true!!
I'm doing great. It's now 4 days post and I'm up walking, drinking normally, yesterday got in 98oz of liquids including Proteins. This morning had thinned down yogurt for brekky and did great. Now having Protein iced tea and loving it. So all is well. Have already walked 2 times today and will do another stint here after lunch. Naps are my friend! Oh how I love mah naps!
    Cheers everyone!!

Thank you! From what I was told (anyone please correct me if I'm wrong) at the beginning they check to make sure that weight loss surgery is covered by your insurance plan and what requirements you will have. After you have completed all the the required appointments they submit all of your office visit notes, lab tests, etc to see if you specifically will qualify and be approved for the surgery.

That we are and it’s so nice to see everyone surgeries go off without any complications. At first I was bummed about being the last day of the month. But watching everyone else be successful is just the encouragement I needed!

The Isopure Zero ones are ok - 40 grams of Protein. Sucralose though - I had to stop drinking them, due to 'inconvenient' consequences.

Hello, all. I haven't been "here" in a bit. What are some of the better-tasting CLEAR Liquid Protein supplements; also which others? [I don't do well with sucralose, but I know it's in practically all of those things, so I'll deal with it for a bit. But usually, I do NOT lose with sucralose/splenda.]
I had my VSG Dec. 2013 and have done very, very well. I am totally THRILLED with my surgical results, and my life hence!!!! ALL GOOD. But this past year, I gained a few pounds; not because I could eat a lot of anything, but I admittedly, had more carbs, sugar, etc. So I gained ~ 14 pounds. Not bad, but not wanted.
Overall, I've gone from 272--->180; now hanging at 195. But I'm wearing a size 12, feeling good, and not camera shy at all. Still sexy, etc. Yes, I can say that. But I don't want to be anywhere near that 200 mark!! So, I need to get serious again and get to 175--my overall goal weight. [I thought I wanted to be 160, but I don't want my face to look much thinner].
I want to do the hard turn back to some liquids for a week or two. Any thoughts on which ones are tasting good these days? Thank you in advance.

My Nutritionist said to try and get 400-500 calories a day for the first week but mostly to focus on getting in enough liquids. 48-64 Oz of liquids a day. I reached my calorie goal easily when I ate Cream of Wheat. I waited about a week after surgery to eat that though, but it is high in Carbs and calories but delicious and pretty easy to get down. I am now in my second week and am told to get in 500-600 calories a day. My surgery was on 2/12 and I just got back to work today. I work a desk job. I am still in some pain and wish I could take some of my harder meds, but I will wait until after work so that I can stay coherent.

Well I am a week out from my sleeve, I think things are going well, still some pain and discomfort but gets better everyday, I’m getting up in the morning and having a 10oz cup of Decaf coffee with caramel Protein as a Creamer, takes me about an hour to drink it. I’m having a cream Soup or lunch which I can get about 8 baby spoons full down before I’m stuffed. Then maybe a little yougurt at night, I have been walking some and using the nectar Protein in Water so I can get close to my protein goal
There have been some emotional breakdowns especially since my wife has gone back to work but I’m not regretting it.

I find it interesting how everyone has such different diet plans. I have a friend who had surgery 3 months or so after I did, hers was at a different facility, and her plan is so different from mine. My plan is pretty strict with no bread, Pasta, white rice, white potatoes. Her plan allowed her to have mashed potatoes for her pureed stage and they didn't stress to her not to have the processed carbs like pasta, white rice, and bread. My nutritionist recommends getting carbs only from legumes, fruits, and veggies, and some whole grains.
My doctor has stressed since pre-surgery that the rapid easy weight loss phase lasts around 1 year, +/-. You have to take advantage of it while you can, because then it does slow down, so good food habits have to be established before that happens. During that early phase, you may be able to get away with eating things you shouldn't and still losing weight, but once it slows down, it becomes fairly easy to out-eat the surgery and gain weight back.
I'm almost 9 months out and have experienced more lengthy stalls in the last 2 months, so I feel like it is already slowing. My last follow up I was given an exercise goal because I slacked off in that area and lost some muscle mass, and that is important in calorie burning as well.
Good luck to all, it continues to be a struggle most days, and I can only hope I can maintain the losses I have made so far.

OK so my Dr says I'm def an exception but I walked the nurse's station in the hospital 5 times around about 3 hours after my surgery and continued to do that every couple hours until my release the next day. Once I was home, I began doing Leslie sansone 1 mile walks in front of my TV with a belly band and also doing some squats. I'm now 19 days out of surgery and running/walking 2 miles on the treadmill pretty much daily. My Dr did warn me not to do any core exercise and that makes perfect sense cause when I do use my core I can kinda feel a tight pull like my internal stitches are "pulling" just do what feels right for your body. I worked out a lot before my surgery and I started out low bmi so everybody's gonna be different
