I was sleeved on the 28th too walking definitely helps with the gas but since you’re still feeling out of it I’d try some medicine. Everybody swears by GasX strips but I wasn’t able to get my hands on any pre-op but what I did get was infant gas drops which worked wonderfully for me on my first day in the hospital when pain and nausea didn’t allow me to get much walking in.

That's still not bad at all! It's above the average of 1.5 - 2lbs per week. Your average is actually 3 pounds per week. You also have less to lose than a lot of other people. The less weight you have to lose the harder it is. Just keep at it and you'll get there. Remember, you didn't gain this weight overnight.

Hi. Were you sleeved on Dec 11? That is my date and we share almost the SAME weight loss. I JUST posted something similar today. Others who were sleeved after me, my buddy Seahawks, for example, has lost 40 pounds since surgery and his surgery was in mid/late January
Me. Since Dec 11 surgery, I went from 321 to 287 (current weight) I've hit a lot of stalls, valley's, It's a crazy ride. Total loss since surgery 34 pounds since surgery, 57 since preop diet 2 weeks before surgery

Me, my preop diet was Nov 27 to Dec 11 and I lost 23 pounds in that time

Maybe we aren't so far behind afterall.
My aunt told me last week to chill and just enjoy this journey.
It's not a race, it is a journey

Hello my name is Ladydeenj and I am addicted to coffee!!! So..... having to stop it was so difficult! The choice was Decaf or nothing and for a week I chose nothing!!!! However, the feel of a hot cup of coffee early in the start of the day was greatly missed! So.... I decided on decaf, 1/2 cup with Carmel premier protein!!!! There is a God!!!! Holy smokes that was delicious and fulfilling and yes folks it’s a love connection !!! 3 cheers for living la vida loca.

I recently had my gastric sleeve surgery on the 28th of February. I am hurting a bit but I think the storm we had last night made the pain even more severe can anyone tell me something on this. Also I should I still be having pain which is causing me not to be able to do as much or should I just keep resting and walking as much as possible. Right now I feel useless😢

    Hello,
my name is Sarah and I completed all the steps that are required to get bariatric surgery(psych evaluation, classes, nutritionists) and my surgery is scheduled for March 12, 2018. One problem... I’m having some major second thoughts and fears... I’ve been overweight my whole life and have been 300+pounds my whole adult life. As of right now my family is against it but they don’t know how it feels to feel trapped in this body. I think the overall fear I’m having is just going under the knife that’s my biggest fear. As of right now I’ve been hitting the gym 5 to 6 nights a week since January of this year and lost 15 pounds but I’ve tried pretty much every diet out there with no significant results. My doctor who is doing the surgery said I have a possible 2% chance of losing weight the conventional way and keeping it off. My insurance is good but a possible career change very soon may mean this is my only chance to do this surgery. I just need advice I’m just scared about surgery....

Well I told Panda I'd tell, I'm 72 years old, I am the adult child of 2 diabetics, no diabetes but I'm probably a ticking time bomb to develop. I have moderate to severe GERD, gastritis and Hector, my baby ulcer, who decided to show up after prolonged NSAID use, I was taking 3-4 at a time because of arthritis pain. I have been arthritic since I was 25. I've had 2 knee replacements and probably need more joints replaced. I have a BMI of 47, I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I also have sleep Apnea, it runs in my family and my weight isn't helping either. I want the quicker weight loss of RnY, I don't mind the rerouting of my intestines as much as the thought of losing 3/4 of my stomach forever. God made me and would rather not lose more of my anatomy to some pathologist's jar. I know all the limitations I will encounter but they frighten me less than the thought of not having surgery, shortening what years I have left until all my organs fail and I die. Rough truths but valid. And those are most of my reasons.

Do you have diabetes or GERD? Those 2 conditions your doctor will suggest a RnY, in the long run you'll lose a tad more with RnY(which is another name for gastric bypass). I think on Bariatric Pal there are a few more sleevers than bypasses but it's like 53% to 47% by my guess so really pretty even, I could tell you my reasons for RnY but it truly is a decision for you and your doctor to make. Sometimes it relies on your age as well as other conditions. He/She will know more of your physical condition and other factors than I do. I'll make you a promise, I'll tell you what made my decision but let's let some other people weigh in, then if you want still to hear, I'll tell you, okay? At any rate welcome and we're here to answer any other questions you may have.

Lol you’ve given me hope I have had some gas so I’ll keep the faith that it’s leading to something but from my other sleever’s advice I did pick up some Miralax just in case. Been getting in a lot of Protein water tryna keep hitting my goals, thanks for everyone’s responses and we’ve got this!

We have a whole orchard of Big Apple people on here. One whose, postings I enjoy is Danny Paul, he's a veteran WLS person who has a lot of good advice.

Hey Everyone! I'm new to the community and this seemed like a good place to put my first post. Like many, I have been obese my entire life and luckily at this point while my BMI is high, I don't have any significant health concerns (e.g. diabetes, high BP) and am hoping that getting this surgery and losing the weight will help me to avoid all of those in the future. I first visited my WLS center in December and I am supposed to have my last pre-op appointment this month with the NP. I've completed all my pre-surgery appointments (e.g. endoscopy, echocardiogram, psych eval, and labs). Everything came back normal except for a couple Vitamin deficiencies for which I am taking supplements. I am meeting with the NP and the nutritionist on the same day this month and from there they will send all my info into my insurance company. So, fingers crossed that everything is smooth sailing.

Hey Sleeved! Glad to see your post! I'm a 2/28 sleever and I'm still on clear liquids but have slowly incorporated sf pudding and thin cream Soups. I can keep everything down okay, but it takes a loooong time to finish an ounce or two. Probably not hitting my Water goal but it's tough! (Especially when we sleep 8 hours a day.) I was wondering when my first BM would be too. Okay, no one read further as this may be TMI for you. I have been sitting here at the computer and all of a sudden I felt like I had to pass gas. YAAAAY! So I just let go! Wooohoooowwaaaaait a minute. Uh oh. Oh boy. That wasn't just air. I ran to the bathroom and yes, I sh*t my pants. So NOW, lesson learned, I have to sit on a toilet to fart. I'm just glad my body finally moved some semi-solids out of my system. Surely you won't have to wait too much longer for a BM, but if you need to fart, it could be what you're looking for! LOL

Today my 4th day post op I’m still on Clear Liquids until I see my surgeon on the 8th. I’m not bothered by it cause honestly I’m not hungry. I’m still waiting on that first BM. How many days out was everyone when they had theirs and at what point should I start to be concerned???

Sleeved on 2/28. Lost 5 lbs so far. Have an alarm set on my phone reminding me to drink 1 oz of Water every 7 minutes. Every 3rd oz has been Protein Drink (premier Protein or nectar). Surgeon want me to have 800 calories per day. However, I’m really only getting 400-500. Walking feels good and napping every afternoon. Keep up the good fight, everyone.
