First person I've heard of going to Sweden. Belgium, Switzerland, the Middle East, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, we truly are World-wide. Oh I almost forgot Bariatric Pal MX and the other Mexico locations, Canada and my friend LillyBilly who lives on one of the ABC Islands in the Caribbean,( Aruba-Bonaire-Curacao), who's going to Columbia for her surgery. Thank you Rainbow Warrior for your return post. I truly value yours, you were one of the first I read and you've always been spot on. I think the thing was: they looked at my plump exterior and made no effort to get to know me inside. I could be more forgiving if it hadn't been a concerted effort on their part. The best I got from one of them " Ah she's little pretty in the face" like the rest of my body was a pile of refuse. I used to try to please everybody and sublimated my,own worth in the process. I'm finally making a firm commitment to health and a future for myself. I value your further consul on this journey I've undertaken. Its winter here but enjoy a beautiful Summer day in Australia.

Late Husband: You don't appreciate having,a good man.
Me: I would if I had one, I just know I would.
He liked to belittle me for my size and he was 3 inches taller and 35 lbs heavier , only ,thing small about him was his mind. But he firmly seemed to believe he was 185 lb like he was in high school. Sad isn't it, he came from a long line of chubby-haters, cut them out of my life after he died. Life is too short to spend mine being treated that way, took it for too long as it was. I'm a fine human being, truth is I've always been eligible for Mensa so why let them treat me like I'm the village simpleton? Thanks everybody for letting me rage, I feel MUCH better.

Once upon a time I had a doctor ( not my Bariatric Surgeon,not even my current PCP) tell me: I'd like you to weigh 148 lbs. My answer: I would too but I don't see that it Will be happening without Bariatric Surgery. If wishing weight away would work none of us would be overweight.

Just a few days before I would think. My buddy Fluffy Chix just had hers at the surgeon's Friday and her surgery is next Tuesday. I'm sure they weigh you again on the morning of your surgery. Always checking if anything changes so they can titrate your medication dosages.

I'm 90% sure the prediet she has you on will suffice, if not she would have made it longer. Many people have to do a month, 6 weeks or even longer. Don't sweat the small stuff you'll just tie yourself up in knots. I'd tell you my story but you' d have trouble believing,it, I'm living it and even I don't believe it. If you're following perfect,you'll have a perfect surgery. And I'll Celebrate with you.

Plastic chairs that don't make sucky noises when I get up. People saying "oh at least her face is pretty". People letting me on the furniture instead of bringing a bashed up wooden kitchen one. Shopping in the regular ladies or juniors department. Finding a nice coat instead of resorting to a mans jacket. Having people know I'm a female instead of a misshapen blob. Dressing in something bright instead of the mustard, black,or puky greens I found last week at Wally World. People not recognizing me.An occasional wolf whistle instead wondering if the guy has developed a wheeze. Painting my toenails, seeing my intimate areas without a mirror. Scratching,my own middle back.Looking in a single mirror instead of a triple. Taking a selfie without looking like a group,focusing a wide angle and having some scenery show on either side. Being tall instead of merely big. Having someone like me for myself not the amount of shadow I provide. Not being in the back row of every picture or having to be the photographer instead.
Also,i answer somebody,else I'm in Central Ohio.

We all are told at sometime in our life-- "do you know who you look like?"What famous person do you,think or have you been told you most resemble? As an example I think I look Like a love child of Mama Cass and John,Candy. Somebody at the time told me. I looked like John Hinkley, the guy who shot President Ronald Reagan. And my late husband was certain he resembled Elvis. I think my son-in-law looks just like Nicholas Cage.

Good luck on your journey, you have come so far already, I'm still a 3fer hoping for 2niceland and dreaming of onederland. My goal,that I've planned? 175 or a 15/16. will it happen? Only with surgery and then some serious dietary labor. Can it happen? It is my belief it can and I'll use every bit of my will, all the breath in my body and all the strength I can summon until it happens or I die in the attempt which at 72 Could occur. This I swear on a jug of whey Protein and a case of Muscle Milk, so help me Bariatric Pal.!!!

Hi glamgirl,@fireman in Greenville will be so,happy to see another North Carolinian on here. Where in that beautiful state are you located? My daughter and her husband lived for a short in Roanoke Rapids in Halifax County. I hope your stuggles,with BCBS are small and over soon. Hi there .I hope to be a success story myself at 73. I will be having a RnY early-mid March at Mount Carmel in Columbus Ohio.. I share many of your comorbities, no high blood pressure, but do have GERD and have had 2 knee replacements. Like all If the younger chicks out there -In it to win it. Plan to spend the remainder of my life --'thinner, happier and healthier. Join me on this journey, as the late Bette Davis said "it's gonna be a bumpy ride!"

But they may be having non scale victories, losing inches & exchanging fat for muscle, everybody has stalls and then start losing again without diet changes. It will all even out eventually.

My late Mamma ,when I was a little kakatkitten ,would pour boiling Water on my shredded wheat,pour it off and when it cooled add a little milk. Might make it even softer to swallow

Welcome Salazar. I flatter myself that I have all the answers since I'm probably the oldest chronologically on Bariatric Pal. I am actually 72, nearly old enough to date Methuselah. Now there has got to be someone in the whole Delmarva that would take your case. Let's take it out a little bit, i know you're in Northern Va, try maybe the Maryland suburbs. I know there's someone in Prince George county on here. If I remember her name I'll let you know. Golly,most,of us worry about insurance. comorbities, here you are money in hand and still having trouble., it does boggle the mind.Hey I noticed on my tablet one of the highlighted surgeons today was Dr Masoud Resvani in W oodbridge Va. Did you try him? Just wondering. I will be having a RnY in early-mid March , date is still labile at this time. All my prerequirements are done just waiting for a date from my surgeon. I will,have,my surgery at Mount Carmel in Columbus Ohio. I'm so grateful,they don't think I'm too old, many programs won't touch anyone over 60. I have low bp, no diabetes,,no cholesterol and a proper motivation. I am in it to win it just like all the younger people.

Well, welcome Dylpowers. Always nice to meet a new friend. What type of surgery are you planning, how far into the process are you and where are you located? And what fears can we allay? I'm still pre-surg myself but not by choice. THAT is a whole nother story. At any rate I've been on Bariatric Pal coming up on 3 months so sorta know my way around. Studied up on the types of surgeries, don't know quite as much about mini bypass or ESG as the others but both of them are represented here. I live in Central Ohio, a candidate for RnY just don't have a firm date, maybe March, maybe April if it's later than that, heads may roll.I'm a trifle impatient, remember Mother
Nature? I'm 72, knew her well and we might have graduated from High School together. World be warned--i am a force to be contended with!
