I made the ricotta bake. It was hands down the best thing I’ve eaten in weeks. Melty cheese, bubbly cheese, so. much. cheese. I portioned out my 2 ounces, happily ate it, and thought “a little more won’t hurt.” I ate maybe another 1.5 ounces. That 1.5 ounces is still sitting in my throat 30 minutes later. I am miserable. I can’t decide if I should try and make myself sick or just sit quietly and suffer.
I know I shouldn’t be beating myself up, but I’m screaming at myself inside. Why did I do this? I knew exactly what was going to happen, but it didn’t deter me. I know it’s only been a few weeks since my surgery and my mentality won’t change overnight, but it’s scary to see how self-destructive I am.
Tell me I’m not the only one who’s gone through this? I need a little pep talk.

There's a lot in here, so if I can break it down. The above posters covered a bunch, but this is what jumps out at me.
    * 20-32 oz of cream of rice? Is that a typo? If not that's way too much of anything (though to be honest I'm not sure what cream of rice is).
    * 16-20 oz of chicken broth - This counts as liquid.
    * 5-10 1oz no sugar popsicle's - This also counts as fluid, though 10 of anything is probably not ideal.

If on top of this your wife is also drinking water then I wouldn't worry to much about her fluids, that said she may want to revisit her meal plans with her nutritionist, because she seems to be eating a volume of food that may be more than her pouch can handle at this point (which I think on average is about 4oz per meal, but everyone is different).

Are you familiar with the concept of head hunger? It's when your brain says, "Feed me!" even when your body doesn't need more fuel. It's a huge contributor to weight gain. MANY of us have experienced it. My suggestion is to really understand the concept & be prepared when it arrives. That will give you a huge advantage before & after your surgery. Good luck! You are not alone.

Sunbrezer, I am scheduled to be there March 9th with Dr. Ilan. I am very nervous about it. I’m flying with my husband. I hope I have chance to see you.

harmonyoflife reacted to Creekimp13 in I'm still not sure. What got you past that unsure feeling? Help!
What got me past my fears:
    1. An endometrial cancer scare (obesity increases odds of getting this cancer)
    2. A pre-diabetic blood glucose A1C
    3. Arthritis that was limiting how far I could walk or how long I could stand
    4. Wanting to do adventure vacations with my someday grandkids
    5. Wanting to do more fun active things with my hubby and bestie
    6. Wanting to live.
    7. Wanting to be off medications instead of adding them.

Everyone is scared of the "what ifs" involved in having weight loss surgery.
Statistically, you should be more concerned about the "what ifs" involved in remaining obese.
Obesity related cancers, heart disease, diabetes, mobility issues, stroke, etc.... scare me a hell of a lot more than a two hour surgery that I've done my homework on and have had safety tests to prepare for.

harmonyoflife got a reaction from orionburn in vitamins? For how long?
Thank you Orionburn for responding. I was just really curious if any one stuck with their original Multivitamins. I love the ones I am currently taking, so I’m glad to read your response.
