Hi everyone! I am eight weeks post op today. I will be sharing photos and stats along the way. Really embarrassing and I hate pictures but I want to see my progress. So far from highest weight I've lost 44 pounds!! Below I took this pic today.

My name is Crystal and I am 38 yrs old. I have struggled with my weight my whole life. I thought I had a handle on it a few years ago when I was able to drop 100 lbs. But as usual I wasn't doing it in the most healthy way and it slowly started to creep back up. My surgery date is April 17th, and now that I have my date I am nervous! I have questions though. Does anyone know of some Protein Drinks with no dairy or whey, where I can get them?? Also if I have a hernia that the doctor doesn't know about, will he fix it when he does my vsg??

Two weeks before surgery they usually do an EGD scope and can tell if you need a hernia repair. Good luck.

Yes usually they do, check GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, even my local health food store Down To Earth carries soy and other plant-based varieties. And check at Target because I know Wal-Mart handles a vegan type variety, if they do Target or Meijer probably does too. Might take some searching to find it but your health and YOU are worth it![emoji12] Shoot K Mart might too, not sure because our local one pulled up stakes and left town.

Every insurance company is different. It seems like they want five years worth of proof that you are morbidly obese. Can you gather all of your medical records from the last five years and have them resubmit the authorization request?

My surgeon says I'm twice as big as I should be for my frame. Shoot that's nearly a quarterback I've been lugging around. Doubt I lose that much but I'm gonna give it a try. I'm pretty inside, time to redesign the outside to match. Tom Brady or Brett Farve, bye bye.

Hi there. Im sore. And lightheaded a little. But do feel different .. the just being on liquids is starting to get hard and I still have a wk left.. trying my hardest to get Proteins shakes in and my water...

Looks good. The bandages aren't holding them together (they're glued and there are sutures underneath). So no issue with them pealing off. The timing is about right, so nothing to worry about. if your shirt rubs them and hurts you can put a regular bandaid on, though i would take it off at night so that you don't create a moist environment on the wound. Looks good to me!

My Bariatric Solutions Dr. Heath Smith did mine in Decatur/Fort Worth, Texas. My insurance doesn't cover bariatric services. I paid $8500 for mine. He is amazing!!!!!! You get a full support system too with a nurse, nutritionist and exercise specialist. I highly recommend him!!

My surgery was September 26, 2017. I had gastric sleeve and a hernia repair.

When I started I was in size 2xl. I went shopping today large size 11/12.
