  1. The smell of food is amazing, but as soon as it hits my mouth, any food, it makes me so nauseous. It's almost repulsive.
I'm around the same stage you are and yeah, experiencing something similar. The first bite or two is pretty good, but then it's like my stomach and mouth team up and override my nose and I lose all interest in eating and feel something similar to nausea. It's very annoying, but I guess it also ensures I don't overeat?
My nutritionist says I may just have OD'd on certain flavors during the pureed phase. But I had some zoodles and bolognese tonight and it was pretty much the same - liked the first couple bites but then meh.

Yes! Exactly. A bite or two, then I'm done. Disgusted almost. What was your nutritionist suggestion?

  2. Hey guys, I'm a month and some change out from my surgery and I've started my selected solids diet with Protein Shakes of course. I have been noticing a pronounced dislike for the texture of food. The smell of food is amazing, but as soon as it hits my mouth, any food, it makes me so nauseous. It's almost repulsive. liquids are fine. Solids- not so much. Has anyone experienced this?

  3. I did and 2 weeks post op still do. I’m just so happy things are moving that I don’t care.

Earlier on I was only consuming liquids and also I think some of the medications I take have come into play as well.

I'm 3 weeks post op and I still haven't had a solid BM. But I'm not eating many solid things, nor am I eating a large amount. It's often straight liquid. [emoji21]

  5. I’ve been doing fat free retried Beans with little bit of salsa and little bit of low fat shredded cheese. Also made ricotta bake which is really good. It’s lasagna without the noodles! I’ve also done tuna with low-fat mayo and pickle relish(sounds weird but is pretty good to)!

Ricotta bake sounds tremendous!!! Where did you find that recipe?

Hey guys!! I had my follow up with my Specialist today. They did a body composition and showed how much not getting all my Protein in was hurting my body post surgery. [emoji21] My body is using my muscle for energy!!! Not my fat reserve. So I've decided to get serious. This little cup is what my body can tolerate at one time. That's 2oz. I mean- I feel like I could eat that in one bite BEFORE. What are some of your go to protein favs that you'd like to share? [emoji173]️

  7. Just left my 2 week post op visit with my surgeon! My food worries are OVER! I've graduated to pureed foods or spreads, eggs chicken salad things like that. I'm so excited. No buyers remorse today! My surgeon said that it's still important to focus on meeting my liquids goal and the rest will fall into place. Begin exercise as I listen to my body but hold off on ab workouts. Tomorrow is see the Specialist, hopefully they say the same thing! How is everyone doing, feeling, healing today?

  8. Hit the losers bench on 3/15. Had to stay an extra night in the hospital and was sent home with my drain still in. Can't wait to be rid of the little appendage! Hope to get it out next Wednesday. If I hold still I am not in any pain but if my tummy muscles are engages...still pretty ouchie! I am having no trouble with Water but all food seems pretty gross right now. We will see what tomorrow brings!

Congrats!! I didn't have a drain. Wowsers!!! Some foods are still yucky to me, but I am really doing well with super cold stuff! Maybe I'm Iron deficient??

  9. I had a hard time getting in the Protein and 64 oz of fluids. My dr told me the Premier Protein counts as liquid and protein. So if I drink 2 of those a day it 60oz protein and 22oz "water" then all I have to worry about is another 53 oz of Water. That took me all day to get in the first few days. If that's tolerable anything extra eaten is a bonus. Yesterday I had some fat free refried Beans mashed up with some salsa. I've tried a little bit of low fat ricotta cheese. Little by little you will get there

Thank you for your encouragement! I wish I could drink Premier Protein shakes. I can't have anything with sucralose, as I'm allergic, but I am sipping on a vanilla shake with milk. If I can finish it, it will be 27 grams of protein!! I like your other options too, mouthwatering!!

  10. Okay guys. I need HELP!! I am nearly 2 weeks post op (Tuesday) and I am having the WORST time getting Protein in. I'm supposed to be aiming for 48 grams and I'm lucky to get 10. Any of my Protein Shakes, unflavored Proteins, warm Soups just make me nauseous- INSTANTLY. I have found frozen yogurt Proyo that has protein and is cold, but I can't live on that [emoji30]. I'm exhausted, weak and CRAVING chicken salad-the goupy stuff. I'm ready for the next level, but I'm not cleared yet. What are some things yall are doing to meet your Protein goals?
