I didn’t get a list. That was just a suggestion. I’m usually good with dairy. Not lactose intolerant or anything. That wasn’t the first string cheese that I’d eaten that I puked up. Idk what the deal was. I had some puréed chicken salad that made my tummy go crazy, too. Puréed beef veggie Soup with soggy crackers was fine. It’s a learning experience.

I just got sleeved a week ago, so I can’t tell you everything from experience. However I have TONS of sleeved friends (hello! I’m a teacher! Lol!) and I haven’t heard them complaining about being hungry. Just like everyone else, when you’re hungry eat. Just be more mindful of what’s going in there. They eat pizza and anything else. (god, I can’t wait to eat pizza and tacos!)I think moderation is key.

Yes, per my nutritionist, all of my dairy at the puréed stage has to be nonfat, though I am allowed to drink 1% milk.

I’m at puréed stage, too. I think 6 oz. if you’re really hungry is ok. As long as you trust your surgeon and you don’t get too full. Who knows? You may stay really full for a while. Let me know how it goes!

Thanks - I was sleeved on 12/18, so we're kinda surgery buddies I guess. You're absolutely right - maybe three of those filets would have been enough, even with the band...
As for baby food turkey - how is it? I did pureed Beans and mashed up avocado for pureed - stayed away from meats.
Also, what's it like being the sausage king of Chicago?

I’m also on puréed foods and currently starving after eating a can of baby food turkey about 2 hours ago. I think you should ask yourself if that would have filled you up pre-surgery, and if the answer is “hell no,” then you’re still ahead of the game.

When I was first sleeved eight weeks out or so I had pork for the first time. I didn’t chew it enough and then 1/2 hour later drank Water. I was sick, stomach pains, foaming, vomiting. It’s happened a couple of times. You will remember.

I am still doing liquids too until the 22nd then my plan says I can move to soft if released by the surgeon. I was just trying to beat the system but all I did was beat myself into that horrible side effect. That was a valuable lesson I didn't need to learn since they already told me ahead of time. :-( just disobedient. All that glitters isn't gold.

My practice says "no" on Tespo -- not enough evidence yet for them to approve it. Just one POV.

I include my pre-op loss as well because I lost 30 pounds in 6 months and I worked my butt off to do that. Plus that's my total weight-loss from the day I entered the program to now.
    HW: 301 (July 2016)
    SW: 271 (12/30/16)
    CW: 188 (1/5/18- I'm currently bouncing again between 189-186)
    GW: 175 then reassess.
I'm 5'10"- Size 10/12 in pants. M/L in sweats because I wear them bigger and S/M in tops depending on brand and cut.

About a year out as well and pretty much in the same boat. I go out with friends but there are always leftovers. Do I miss pounding down some wings and beers with my mates? Eh...yes and no. I'm still having a good time going out with friends despite not eating a dozen wings and having 2 beers. Now it's maybe 2 wings and half a beer and that's it.

Head hunger is a very real thing. When I was on my 2 week pre-op diet I had a big come to Jesus moment in my relationship with food and how much control it had over me. I had the same questions/fears as you did. How could I ever enjoy Thanksgiving again if I can't eat 25 lbs worth of food!? Turns out it really isn't that big a deal.
As far as the stomach stretching thing a lot of that is myth. You're going to be able to eat more over time. That's supposed to happen. People can also fool themselves by eating too many slider foods. For instance let’s say you sit down at the table to a portion of chicken, some mashed potatoes, and some green Beans. Your Protein is the most important thing so you start on that. By the time you’re done you can barely eat any of the taters or greens. Now, if on the other hand I started with the potatoes I could probably get them all down and the chicken, and maybe some greens as well. Why? Because the potatoes are going to make their way through easier by being a softer food.
Head hunger is something that you have to learn to deal with. To me it’s no different than fighting other urges/addictions. I could eat something at work and feel stuffed, then get home an hour later and feel like I need to eat because I had a bad habit of always doing that. That still happens. I have to remind myself that I only think I’m hungry. It’s not true hunger. This is a lifestyle change. The surgery is just a tool. If you don’t it right then you won’t have success.

I'll share the foods that are on my list of pureed and very soft foods, but some that spring to mind are:
    Nonfat yogurt (regular and Greek)
Nonfat cream cheese (weird to think of just eating some cream cheese, but OK)
I've also been eating unsweetened apple sauce and enjoying it, may try sprinkling some cinnamon on top.
Also, I highly recommend this: https://www.amazon.com/Fresh-Start-Bariatric-Cookbook-Weight-Loss/dp/1623157730/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1515181665&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=bariatric+cookbook&psc=1

I've been weighing myself daily since I got home from the hospital (12/21) and I'm down almost 25 lbs so far.
edit: My weight loss sped up once I started the full liquid diet, but now it's slowed to about half a pound a day.

Good for you don't feel guilty. If you can do it. That would certainly be my advice for anyone in our situation. I am going to start resistance training next week. Nothing major just with the bands for legs and arms. I am walking every day 15 to 30 minutes and thats not a lot but it's a start. More time is good to get to know yourself good luck with the time off.

Here's an example of why I think this is bullying behavior....instead of well intended advice.
There's a thread on here about a woman throwing up clots of blood. Almost no one responded. I did. I encouraged her to seek medical advice immediately.
Then...there are posts where someone admits they've had a weak moment and eaten something high calorie...hoping for some encouragement....and the wrath of God rains down upon them like they're committing suicide.
It's bullshit. It isn't about helping others, it's about feeling self righteous. If it was about helping others, the blood clot thread would have dozens of urgent replies.
People who have been bullied often become bullies, and it's sad. Worse, they pick on those they secretly identify with.
Fat shaming is the last safe prejudice. "It's for their own good" is not an excuse to be tone deaf and unkind.

I had a doughnut 10 days after surgery and immediately puked it back up. Just had to test the waters, I guess.
Today (day 14) I had a quarter of a cupcake and kept it down. I’m tempted to eat poorly for dinner bc I’m starving, but the thought of puking up bad food is a strong deterrent for me.

It’s not all it’s cracked up to be! Lol! I looked forward to that scrambled egg SO much! It was disappointing. I puked up a string cheese yesterday. Idk if I didn’t chew it enough, or what. They have been going down alright. I’m sticking the super puréed food today. I had a Protein Shake for Breakfast and soupy mashed potatoes for lunch. I’m making it - slowly, though!

I have about a 3 to 4 for pain. My incisions look good. I am doing ok for hydration but getting the Protein in is still a work in progress. Thanks for the reminder of the Miso Soup I love that & will grab some soon. Now for confession time...I had a frozen wonton bowl last night and every intemotion of just having the broth but the wontons we boiled down so soft that they fell apart. So I figured what would be the harm really. Well when I tell you the few slivers of it i had came back with a vengeance! People I now know that Dumping syndrome is real and better you not do it to yourself. A hard head makes a soft behind as my Gram used to say so going forward I will be listening loud and clear. :-)
