  1. Before surgery I was a lark owl (idk if that's a thing but I was just as happy to wake up early as I was staying up late.) Now that morning aspect is beyond gone. I struggle to get up and usually feel sick. Today I called in because I was sure I was going to pass out. I've been up for 2 hours and I'm starting to feel a little better.

Anyone else go through this? Do I just have to drag my feet through mornings now? I don't see my doctor or get lab results until the 2nd week of Feb.

  2. While I don't think the response to Peaches was ideal, and was a personal attack (which I feel is inappropriate), I don't feel this thread is appropriate either. To make a general and reductive diagnosis ("crazy people") is just as bad as the posts made about Peaches. Two wrongs don't make a right. Jmo

If my first post on a forum was met with the same harsh assumptions I probably would have posted the same thing about crazy people

  3. Ya know....
I was so depressed after and regretted everything. I had to get Iv fluids multiple times after. It might be too late and I might need a picc line.

But you know what? I'm a student and, for the first time in a long time, I fit in a desk. I rode a bike.

It's hard but focus on what you'll be able to do instead of what ifs and what you can't do.

  4. I’m not sure where the dehydration equals aversion to Protein? Were you vomiting from the Protein Drinks? Is that what caused the aversion?
More information may be needed to get you useful help. That being said you may just need to keep sampling products until you find high Protein items that you are able to tolerate that fit in with your diet. It is definitely a trial and error process and some people seem to struggle more with this, especially soon after surgery.
It does get better and hopefully someone will come along that is more helpful!
I hope you feel better soon and are able to eat healthfully!

Yes I vomited multiple drinks that o could handle before I got that dehydrated. I have problems sampling because I get bad anxiety just thinking about drinking them.

  5. Long story short, I was so dehydrated at one point that I couldn't handle Protein Drinks or puree. Now I struggle with aversion and the thought of consuming anything but Clear Liquids gives me major anxiety. Doctor is giving me 2 weeks (well now a week and a half) to start consuming at least 40 grams of Protein or I get a picc line. I've tried clear protein but I get the same hard core anxiety.

Anyone else been through this? Help!

  6. Don't forget to advocate for yourself. If you're not comfortable or in pain, speak up!
I remember one nurse asked my pain level (Standard 1 through 10) and I was like F***ING 15! I didn't leave them alone till I got some help.
