Yes....I did...and I did again on my 2nd day post op...(that was my worse day)...but starting day 3 till now (day 13) I don't regret 1 min.... I'm down 28 lbs (including the 6 lbs I gained in hospital from all the IV fluids...you pee this out quickly).... You won't regret your choice in a few more days... Hang in there... YOU got this!!

I'm 3rd day post op.... I had coffee in the hospital with fake sugar..and at home with a touch of half n half..as long as it semi warm, my doc said its fine... Nothing really hot...and it will help with the stomach cramps/spasms....which I get occasionally.... Also a tepid cup of hot tea helps.... Good luck with your surgery...

My PCP encouraged me, and even coordinated my plan of action with my surgeon.... Get a new PCP....she sounds very uneducated, and that alone is reason to switch ASAP..... Good Luck!!!

Getting a little nervous, but still excited to start this journey.... My 10 day pre op diet is going well...lost 8 lbs as of yesterday... Today is all liquid....I'm good with that...I had fiance take pre op pics tonight...(not my favorite thing...) I also downloaded the Baritastic App to track progress, tips etc... Good luck to others who go in Monday...(Baptist East, Louisville KY. Dr. Oldham.)... We got this !! .... 😀😀

Thank you KCRN.... I know 1 piece of chocolate is not going to blow my entire diet, but the feeling like a complete failure sucks. I called my Dr. office, and they said I will be fine, just stick with it from here on out.... Glad to know I'm not the only one.... And you're right...this feeling will definitely be my guide....

I feel awful... I cheated on my diet....granted it wasn't a lot but still. I have a 5 days left plus the all Clear Liquids on Sunday.... I know I will be ok...but I feel terrible...

Hang in there....it does go by pretty fast.... Hard to believe mine is only 9 days away now... You got this!!!

LineCoach, I don't mind it, but I did it on and off during my 4 month supervised diet... Have you added flavorings to them to help?.. 1 tbs peautbutter, or 1/2 a banana and mix in a blender with a few ice cubes??...

I am in Kentucky, and due to a job ending disability I am on Medicare and KY Medicaid/Passport. I had to do a 4 month diet. (I lost 9 lbs.) and once my surgeon faxed all paperwork in I got approved the next day. Granted its not Colorado but I hope its quick... Just keep on doing what doc advises and you should be fine...

Hi... My surgery is alsov12/18/17.. I'm on day 1 of pre op diet...(3 shakes and 1 high protein low carb meal daily... I'm still full from the shakes....but will get my grilled chicken in somehow.... My Dr told us that his pre op diet depends on BMI... I am using the bariatric advantage brand shakes from Dr. Oldham's office... Not overly sweet... Best of luck to you both... We do indeed got this!!...

Your Dr. Should have given you a diet start date, (usually 1-2 weeks pre op). Give them a call to see. Some people don't need it from what I've seen on here....

I'm using Bariatric Advantage, vanilla and banana flavors. Per my Dr., I can add 1/2 small banana or 2 tbs PB2 peanut butter with chocolate protein powder. (or 1 tbs natural peanut butter) I add 10 oz 1% milk, blend in blender, add 4 ice cubes...blend on high 1 min and its a pretty good milkshake... I'm on 3 shakes daily and a small high protein LOW carb meal daily .... I've not yet had my meal today, as I'm stuffed from the shakes....

While my surgery isn't a secret, I just don't broadcast it... My hubby and children are very supportive, but...my best friend who went to all the appointments (until recently) is not. She is trying to discourage me and attempting to sabotage my pre op diet .... I don't understand her behavior, or her reasoning for it... (She says its too dangerous.) and she send me links to articles on anything bad or negative about it... I told her last week to stop and if she couldn't be supportive of my decisions then we would need to reevaluate our friendship... Surgery was scheduled yesterday for December 18th, and I'm not telling her.... Just making a FB post that I'm going to take some time to myself and recuperate.... I don't care what other's think....but I just can't deal with anymore negativity over it....

I'm scheduled for December 18th.... Dr. Oldham, in Louisville KY at Baptist East Hospital..(my first appointment was the end of June 2017. Insurance approved after 4 months supervised diet.) Surgery was put off a month due to a trip out of country at the end of November.).... I'm on my 10 day diet (3 shakes and 1 small high protein, low carb meal daily.).... I'm excited and nervous all at the same time... But ready to win this weight loss journey once and for all.... Best of luck to you all!!!
