White tongue? Thrush? I'm struggling too. I think it's pretty normal because your body is in ketosis. I got a script for Thrush and it's getting better. Everyone around me seems to have the worst breath [emoji30]

Totally normal. I vowed not to weigh for a full week because I knew it was common to retail lots of Fluid. Try not to stress, and stay away from the scale until Friday. Please!

That's a scare! I'm jealous that you were awake after surgery! I could not wake up. Except to dry heave!

I know this post is old but hi! I'm in Broomfield and 8 days out from my sleeve with Dr. Snyder.

I have a 2 day clear liquid diet and surgery on Monday. TOMORROW!!!!!!! As said previously, all surgeons are different. I asked mine why his was shorter and he said in lower BMI patients he doesn't see a difference in a long vs short liquid phase so the shorter is adequate to shrink the liver.

I had a rash too. I think from the betodine wash...let us know what the doc says!

I had to watch a seminar put out by my surgeon before I could schedule a consult. I had my consult, met with the nutritionist, saw my PCP, had a psych consult, then my coordinator submitted my case for approval. It took 3 weeks (which is uncommon) for them to approve. I scheduled my surgery date the day my coordinator called to tell me I was approved. I attended a required 2 hour group course with the nutritionist. I have my pre-op appt on Thursday and surgery Monday.
* my insurance required proof of non-surgical attempted a weight loss for six consecutive months occurring in the last two years. I already had that but the meeting with the nutritionist, my PCP and the two hour class would've counted toward the six months. They just need to be spaced properly.

Hope this helps! It seems pretty standard. Some insurances/patients/practices require more extensive pre-testing.

I woke up super quick. I was alert and oriented in the recovery room for over an hour before they had my room ready. Sitting up, feeling pretty good, begging for ice chips. Man, your mouth gets dry!!
As soon as I got to my room, I was out of the bed using the bathroom and roaming the halls. Had half a dozen visitors that night and took a walk with all of them:)

I just went in for my 1 week postop and was given Diflucan for Thrush.

Good job everyone! I'm 5 days postop and feel exponentially better today! No pain getting out of bed anymore! 🙌🏼 It was my mom's birthday this week so I just got back from lunch at Texas Roadhouse. My favorite 😩 I expected to leave in tears after watching everyone eat ribs and steak but you know, I was just fine! I was able to enjoy time with my family and not feel deprived. I felt victorious!

I got sick of Dawson's Creek and makeup tutorials in my daily 10 hours of recovery You Tube so I started searching out food to help me down the road. I implore you, check out Fit Men Cook. He. Is. Legit!!!! And because I'm oddly emotional I cry through all the videos.
You won't be disappointed!

Someone in my FB group said that her surgeon did an internal stitch to help avoid a hernia and a pop could be felt when it breaks. It's supposed to break. Could be that!

I'm a fairly new sleever, and i'm extremely happy:)
I love that I can continue with my pre-surgical diet that I was having a lot of success with...while eating smaller portions and feeling great. I love that 4 ounces feels full and satisfied.
I love that when I get stupid and eat a cookie or some other sugary crime (pretty rare thing, but it happens)....I feel a little gross. I don't get full on dumping syndrome...but I get a touch of nausea that reminds me that refined sugar and I are not friends. Also...if I'm smart and just have a bite of that cookie instead of the whole damned thing....I can really enjoy that bite and not feel crappy afterward. It's changing how I handle those situations, it's changing my preferences, and really helping me to stop a bad habit....or at least employ serious moderation:)
I love that I'm off my meds and my health is better. I love that I have good energy to get my seven miles of walking in each day.
I love that my clothes are getting baggy and that I look (not skinny...but) normal in a swimsuit, again.
I love my sleeve:)
