  1. This week my diet was relaxed as i ate a slice of cake, a slice of pie, a tortilla chip (lol) and a few pieces of fruit. so the scale decided to move again. After a month. No rhyme or reason to stalls I swear. If I was perfect on plan , no change....

Doesn't that blow your mind? I've had this happen time and time again. Makes me shake my head. I think sometimes a shake up to the ole metabolism wakes it up? Who knows....just glad once in a while we can have our cake (within reason) and lose weight, too:)

  2. Had an interesting experience at Patient First... went in with symptoms of a UTI and discovered I'm extremely dehydrated, with protein in my urine, and I also might have gallstones. Frustrated but glad I ended up getting tested so I could be aware of this stuff.

Drink, drink, drink. Sorry if you're getting gallstones...that stinks. Had my gallbladder out a decade ago...it's not bad, they can do it outpatient if you end up needing to.

Glad you're seeing the doc and staying on top of things. Keep us posted!

  3. Today I hit 299. Feels really good to be below 3 bills!

  4. 6 months difference. Not great, but could be worse.
The suit in picture one is too big. I have another bathing suit 1f642.png:)

    Dec 11 (surgery) 321lbs
    Today: 6 mon out: 264lbs
Concentrating now on my arms and stomach. I've lost a ton on my legs, starting to look lopsided. I never wanted to be top heavy with bird legs Lol

Some who have had this surgery are blowing me out of the water but.. who cares?

Slow and steady wins the race!

I love vegetarian stuff, and incorporate a LOT of vegetarian recipes into my forever diet. I still do eat animal protein, but much less than many of my bariatric peers. I try hard to get at least half of my protein each day from plant sources.

If you run into any recipes you just love...please share:)

  7. Good morning, everyone. I know I've been gone for a bit but I am doing so much better now. It seems as if I am healing right up. The nausea is completely gone and the only time I get an upset stomach is if I eat too quickly. Alas, this is still something of a learning curve. On the upshot, I am ready to return to work and I am going back to tractor trailer driving because it's the best path to make a decent living given my skill set. On July 3rd, I will be starting for Schneider. It's been a few years since I've been behind the wheel of such a big vehicle so I chose the free training (and I don't have to sign an agreement either) offered by Schneider. The particular driving that I got hired for is all Mid-West lanes dedicated to Home Depot so there is no East Coast and no West Coast. In fact, just four states ... CO, NE, MO, and KS. The job is 3 weeks on/1 week off and they fly me between my home in Philadelphia and Kansas City. All in all not a bad deal.

  8. Sorry I've been missing for a while! I've been swamped with work and other responsibilities. Just know I love all the supportive messages and comments <3 You guys are the best! I recently found out I was accepted to a film preservation school this fall so I've been getting ready to move to Rochester, NY!

  9. Okay, I'm done.  I'm being myself and apparently offending people left and right.  I'm mortified by that.

I am very direct when dealing with facts, and I have a very warped sense of humor.  Neither translates well on the internet unless you know me personally.

WHY can't I delete this profile?

BAN me, whatever.  Just get me off this f#@ing site. (Even Facebook lets you quit, for God's sake.)  I promise I'll still visit your store.

You won't always be right and people won't always agree with you. And sometimes you will be right...and people still won't agree with you. LOL:) Sometimes you'll say the most innocent thing...and ten people will think you're a jerk. So what?

Netiquette is weird and sometimes it takes time to figure it out. Some of us never quite figure it out and must suffer a little scorn due to our abrasive manner. Meh...so what?

At the end of the day, you have to grow a thicker skin and say...Meh, who cares?

So, stick around....or take your leave if you prefer...it's all good. Of all the things in life worth feeling angsty and stressed about....the bariatricpal board ain't one of 'em.

Reign in the drama laama and stick around if you get a kick out of the place.

      Or don't. Up to you:)

  10. It was like a scene from The Exorcist tonight.  Pizza was involved.  And hanger, lol.  I stayed strong (somehow) and made my planned Curried Lentil Coconut Soup (soooooo good) and let my guys eat their #@$%& pizza without me.

    1. Creekimp13

      Creekimp13

Truthfully? The Curry coconut soup sounds so much better to me. I love that stuff!

  11. Hello to everyone. Hope all is well! I am still battling the nausea and trying to figure out what is causing it but at least I feel cheerful, not despondent.

  12. I had a setback yesterday. I went to the ER in severe stomach pain and nausea. It turns out that I had a stricture so the ER stabilized me and then I was transported to Wilmington Hospital, where I had the surgery to begin with. They did some emergent repairs. I am doing okay but in too much pain to get around. Anyhow, the surgeon emphasized rest and not getting up and moving. I will be discharged on Friday morning as they want to keep me for observation. Life happens but we keep moving, right-o?

  13. I seem to be in one helluva stall. I thought it had broken, but alas, I was wrong. Although to be honest, I think this one is my fault as I got away from careful tracking so today I am getting back up on the horse. Need to watch calories as well as make certain that I am getting 100g of high quality protein.

  14. Hit 90 lbs down today... so close to my first 100 lbs down!

  15. The scale started moving again. I'm down 2lbs in 2 days.

  16. Tonight's experiment: wonton wrapper lasagna (made with ground turkey and a Greek yogurt cream cheese/mozzarella/cheddar/spices mix instead of ricotta, which I don't like) and tacos (made with taco meat pilfered from my sister's supper). In the oven now!

  17. So, getting finances in order, I managed to sell my 2016 Toyota Avalon. It was a beautiful car, of which surprisingly, I’m doing fine without and I actually don’t miss it; and also of which resulted in having a one-vehicle household, which resulted in me HAVING to walk 2.2 miles everyday 5x a week to get my daughter to school. I’m actually quite glad, I’m feeling better/stronger again, and I dropped almost $20,000 of debt. WIN-WIN!

      Creekimp13

Car debt is the bane of my existence. Wont do it. And I love Toyota...I drive (and LOVE) my 2015 Camry...so I know how hard that was. Absolutely awesome you're getting the walking in, instead. Love that so much! Also teaches good habits to the kiddo....which is brilliant.

Speaking of kiddo and cars..I've spent the last three months combing the web for a used car for my daughter. She has a summer job lined up here and needs a car to get to various labs and sample sites....and I won't let her go into more debt. (she has minimal student loans and will graduate next year with her microbiology degree)

I found her a 2008 Malibu from Tennessee, clean inside and out...with just barely 100K on it...and I'm feeling incredibly accomplished. $3000, we paid cash :) CarFax is clean, mechanic said it was in great shape and she should get a few years out of it yet. Very common car with cheap parts if repairs are needed in the future. Previous owner did a valve job and replaced timing chain, and all maintenance was done at dealership. Brand new tires and brakes.

It's parked in our driveway as we speak. Runs and sounds like brand new.

I can't wait to see her face:)

  18. Anyone else just eat the powder from the crystal light packets? I had a craving for something sour so I just had a little bit of a sample packet of the sugar free kind my doctor gave me. Now I keep it on my desk with a clip on it so I can just have a little bit of the powder when I crave it. WLS makes you do weird things, man! :D

    1. Creekimp13

PS...avoid the commercial sugar free gummy bears. They make you poop explosively.

I used to love to suck hard candies while working. Someone on here posted a recipe for sugar free gummy bears.

      1/3 cup water

      3 packs of unflavored geletin

whatever koolaid flavor you want, half a pouch

      no calorie sweetener to taste

(or just use sugar free jello in a flavor you like!)

You boil it, then drip it in little molds or small ice cube trays...whatever you want

then you let it cure for 2-3 days in the fridge.

They really do taste quite a bit like gummy bears....and you get protein in the gelatin win-win:)

  20. It's funny; I was really worried the past few days about how easy it's been to reach 1,000 calories, and today I was barely able to reach 850 despite having eaten some good meals and worked out. I just need to be more conscious of what food choices I make. I'm learning more about what makes me feel satiated every day! Definitely tuna and chicken, for sure. Dangerous foods for me include roasted chickpeas, cheese, and nuts... They just don't fill me up much.

I also do a lot of dry meat in the oven.

Just marinate a lean meat in anything you like...I like hot pepper juice, soy, garlic..

Then hang it on the racks with a drip pan underneath. Set the oven for 180 and let it go half the day....

Like jerky....but lots better for you!

I slice my apples up with a crank slicer, dip them in lemon so they don't brown...spray the racks with cooking spray so they'll pop off...and essentially just let the thing run until they're crunchy. Takes hours and time depends on humidity.

For cherries, I like to slice them in half, remove the pit and get them drying. They're a juicy mess...but there is nothing better. There are tons of tutorials online for different kinds of dehydrators.

My huge danger food... Frozen yogurt fudge pops. I like them entirely too much, and it's way too easy to say...but they're only 80 calories and you get 6 grams of protein! Very easy to be naughty with them. Cause in truth....one is probably not gonna hurt me. But two is trouble... and sometimes they sing to me a little. Hush!

  25. Hit Onederland this week.  This morning I hit 197.2!  OMG.  I'm pretty sure I was never this light in high school!  I'm so happy!
