    June Surgery date

That's great, I bet you are excited. I am not in Sydney I am in Tasmania, but I will be coming to Sydney for my procedure (ESG) which won't be June but October (I hope). Who is your surgeon and what procedure are you having? Well done on the loss so far, that's a long preop hope it goes well for you.

    We need Fat Moderators

I gather what is being requested is for more Group Support Leaders? May I ask what the role or expectation of a Group Support Leader is? I have my own thoughts about what they are but in terms of bariaricpal forums I may be wrong. I volunteer (moderator) on a fairly popular forum. It's hard work and can a lot of time but I gather the role of group support leader would be much harder. It would require a greater time commitment along with the abiiity to be able to engage positively and with empathy with a diverse member base.

    Hoping for ESG

I spent three hours at the pathology lab on Saturday morning doing my oral gluose/insulin test, only to get a phone call today saying I needed to redo as they didn't collect enough timed samples....aargh. My surgeon asked for a urea breath test and the lab is now going back and forth with the surgeon to confirm he wants a breath test not a fecal test. The surgeon asked for a breath test, I'm pretty sure he knows what he wants. But anyways, I continue to make small changes eating better, eating less, walking more. Feeling better for it.

    Goal accomplish

Great achievement, you are looking wonderful!
  8. I work with someone who had a sleeve about 15 months ago, she is 40 and has lost about 35kilos (77lb), she is out dating, she has mentioned that her partner(s) in that time have never mentioned her excess skin or scars. If someone genuinely cares for you they won't care about some excess skin or scars, and if they sex on their mind I doubt they would even notice.

    Diet

Dlturn do you live in Thailand or was your surgery medical tourism? If medical tourism are you able to link up with a WLS dietician or nutritionist in your home country?

    Satisfaction?

I'm no expert, but I would have thought that would depend on your type of surgery, for instance if a gastric bypass I believe processed foods that contain sugar (or perhaps high in sugar) are a no no as they are likely to cause dumping.

    Hoping for ESG

I had my phone consult with Dr Sartoretto yesterday, it was a good consult I thought. He asked a lot of questions based on my personal/history, allowed plenty of time for me to ask my questions. I like his approach to weight/fat loss with the focus more on body fat percentage / body composition than scale weight. Dr Sartoretto has done approx 160 ESG which is quite a good number given its a relatively new procedure in Australia. While I had already done a range of blood tests, I now have a referral for a breath test and oral glucose test. I was pleased to see that there wasn't a change in the Australian government budget with regards to early release of super for WLS (unless its still hidden in the fine print somewhere).
  15. I enjoyed the Fat Doctor and was disappointed there wasn't a fifth (?) season. Dr Shaw Somers came across as the most caring doctor. I don't have access to 600lb life.

Boss Wants Me to Delay Surgery

Do you mean just talking in general about the surgery or specifically about delaying the surgery?
  20. I know dietbet has a maximum that can be lost in a period of time, if someone goes over a certain percentage they are disqualified.

    BMI 33 - Excess Skin Post-Op?

I would think with a lower BMI that it will more likely come down to genetics, but staying hydrated, exercise, good fat intake will help with it. It can take a while for excess skin to reduce anywhere up to one or two years. Oh and being a little younger will very likely be in your favour.

    VSG candidate, boyfriend NOT onboard!

I wonder if it's him who is actually wanting 'an easy way out', using the WLS as a means to force a break up? FutureSleevie read your own post back a couple of times, now what would you ask/tell or advise a close friend or family member after you've watched them struggle with weight gain and maintaining losses for a long time, struggling with obese related health issues, struggling with making what is one of their most important decisions in their life? I am guessing you wouldn't be telling them they are taking the easy way out and that you would be a hell of a lot more caring than that.
  23. You are not losing weight by respiration, you are losing weight because of calorie deficit and probably other metabolism mechanisms, respiration is just how the body rids its of the by product of fat loss.
