Loss rate generally doesn't pick up over time - it usually declines over time as one has less weight to move around, one burns somewhat fewer calories in their everyday life. We generally see a big drop the first 2-3 weeks of a weight loss program (starting at surgery, or a pre-op diet) due primarily to Water weight loss before the actual burning of our fat stores begins and things slow down a bit (fat burns more slowly than the carbohydrate based glycogen that we burn off at first.) Those who maintain a more consistent loss rate over their journey are typically those who get seriously into an exercise program (as in marathon training, rather than an extra couple blocks of walking) to counter the declining caloric deficit. They are the outliers of this world (as in the "*results not typical" fine print in the weight loss ads.)
You can certainly meet your goals if you keep at it. As you are about half way there, figure that it may take about twice as long as you have already been at it to get that second half of weight loss done, but it can be done if you stick with it and don't let a lot of crap back into your diet.

I am so happy for you on your progress! Sounds like you are on a great road toward your goals. I had sleeve surgery on November 29th and lost 15 pounds in first week and none since then. I've been at a stall for over a week!

After surgery your body can be thrown into ketosis. Ketosis is a normal metabolic process. When the body does not have enough glucose for energy, it burns stored fats instead; this results in a build-up of acids called ketones within the body. According to the internet:
The most typical source of energy used by the body is glucose. This is typically derived from carbohydrates, where the digestive system breaks down complex sugars into simple glucose molecules.
On very low carb diets, however, the body is unable to utilize such a fuel. Instead, the liver utilizes the fat present in the body as an energy source, producing “ketones” in the process(2). This is known as “ketosis” – and is the process from where Keto diets get their unusual name.
These ketone bodies come in three common forms; acetoacetate, beta-hydroxybutyrate and acetone(3). In large quantities they are removed from the body in the urine or through exhalation.
Ketones can have quite a characteristic smell; they often make the dieter’s breath smell quite sweet and fruity, quite distinct from typical halitosis.
Excessive volumes of acetone, however, can smell rather different. Acetone on the breath is most commonly likened to the smell of nail varnish remover(4).
    Protein Excess
A second possible cause of ketosis breath isn’t directly linked to the breakdown of fat as a fuel source.
Instead, it is a side issue caused by typical changes to the diet. As those on keto diets try to minimize the consumption of carbohydrates, so the diet is often filled with other constituents; most typically fat and Protein.< /em>
A diet that is high in protein can have two impacts on breath. Firstly, the breakdown of protein in the body produces ammonia; this can lead to urine or breath smelling particularly strongly. If your breath has started to smell like a cat litter tray while on a ketosis diet then this may well be your culprit!
Standard bad breath is most commonly caused by bacteria in the mouth. This bacteria breaks down its food, producing volatile sulphur compounds (“VSCs”).
It is interesting to note that studies suggest that the most common source of VSC production is the breakdown specifically of protein, as opposed to other food sources. Higher protein diets, especially in the absence of suitable oral hygiene, can also therefore impact one’s breath.
Some advise to normalize this condition are:
    Drink plenty of Water.
Rinse your mouth with an anti-bacterial oral rinse.
Consider the use of calorie-free and carb-free mints or gum, or use a flavoured oral preparation such as a mint-flavoured breath spray or mouthwash.
One of the other suggestion it seems you are already doing. Studies suggest that cleaning the tongue is almost twice as effective as brushing alone at removing bad breath. As a result, investing in a tongue scraper can be a worthwhile exercise.
Ketosis often causes increased urination. This diuretic effect is due in part to your glycogen stores being emptied. Also known as “water weight,” one gram of glycogen necessitates around 3 to 4 grams of water in storage. This mass exodus of surplus fluids (aka pee) can cause dry mouth, and increased sensations of thirst. One of the other conditions that I encountered after weight loss surgery was dry mouth. I found that Biotène® Dry Mouth Oral Rinse helped with this condition.

Got sleeved today!! I had the absolute best OR staff, the last thing i remember before anesthesia is one of the nurses saying you are in really great hands which really relaxed me. Im also very thankful for IV pain medicine. I've been up and walking around as much as I can tolerate. I was only allowed ice chips today that have made me feel sick lately, so I'm nervous for Protein Shakes tomorrow. Also, I don't recommend hiccups the day of surgery

    Hi Lina!
I had my sleeve done 11/22 and have been recovering since then. I'd be happy to share some advice!
    1) It's really important to consume as much liquid (and protein) as you can after surgery. Stay on top of Water and Protein Shake consumption every hour, even though you may feel like sleeping all day.

    2) Follow your doctor's plan very closely. That's what matters most.

Hi everyone! I am having the sleeve done on November 29th. I'm on a 3 day liquid diet until then. I'm 58 years old, 203 pounds and 5'1". I'm very excited about it, but admit I'm a little nervous. Any advise?

Sleeved 11/21/17 at 2:30pm in Mexico. Feeling great, no pain, no gas, no nothing. I know tomorrow may be different but day by day it is. 210 HW, 201 day before surgery, 196 day of surgery. Eating ice cubes right after surgery with no problem. Hope it stays this way. Good luck to everyone else.

Yesterday I had my surgery, the first few hours were rough. Nausea from the anesthesia was rough and the gas pains were no joke. I tried to walk a few minutes every hour from about 5 hours out of surgery on and it helped. My surgeon is against using gas-x so I was not allowed to use mine. I passed the barium swallow and now I need 3 consecutive hours of drinking and keeping down 4 oz of either Water, broth, crystal light or Protein Drink. So far so good

    Have a great day!

I am pretty close to 60 . I just turned 58 on the 25th of this month.

I've lost all my weight and at times, I feel like a teenager.

    Hi Ginny,
I was sleeved at 61 years old in Mexico by Dr. Aceves. Love him and his staff, but I digress!
I was 3 months out on October 26th and I've lost 70 lbs and 33 inches. I feel absolutely wonderful and I'm off all my medications. I walk 2-3 miles a day and I don't think I've felt this well since, well, I can't remember!
Good luck to you and hope all goes well for you.
    Take care!
