    Pro-stat

Has anyone used pro-stat liquid to get your protein in? It contains 15 grams of protein is sugar free and fat free with 10 carbs in a single 1oz serving. Im having such a hard time getting any protein in because of my severe gerd and have been looking for anything that might help. Please share if you have any experience with this product. Thanks! Im 9 wks post op and have lost 50 percent of my weight but fear some is muscle loss [emoji17] Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app

    Struggling and Regretting

I have had a horrible time with this surgery and feel like I've made a huge mistake by having it done. The GERD has been sooo bad that I hate eating and sometimes drinking fluid. I am having an aversion to milk based Protein drinks. I have H. pylori and need to take these horrible tasting antibiotics and can't keep them down! I wish I could just swallow the capsules and call it a day. I've already had to get IV fluids once and I know that my body is wasting away and not in a healthy way because I can't get my Vitamins and protein in. I just don't even know what to do anymore. I'm so depressed that I don't even want to get out of bed because of the thought of having to eat and drink. (Yes, I'm on antidepressants). I feel like I'm failing big time. The reason I wanted this surgery was to get healthy and I feel like I'm less healthy now. Am I alone in this? I can't give up or it will seriously harm me. I want to enjoy my life and not live with regret and pain everyday.

    H pylori positive

I was never tested for it prior to surgery, but they sent the portion of my stomach to pathology following my surgery and it came back positive for H. Pylori. I wasn't able to start my antibiotics until a month post op. I have had severe GERD and am hoping that once my H. Pylori infection gets cleared up that it will help with that.

    Eating is not as enjoyable!

Im 6 weeks out and hate eating now. I think im hungry and then after 3 bites i start hurting which i guess is me feeling full. It doesnt matter what food it is either. How in the world will I ever reach my protein goals?! I also have a hard time with the shakes. The milk based ones are hard for me to drink and ive kinda developed an aversion. Im just adding protein powder to flavored water drinks. I forgot to mention that im fighting an h pylori stomach infection and hope that this is what part of the problem and my severe gerd stems from. Got fluids. Talked with my surgeon and he called me in another PPI and zofran. He also put me back on warm clears only for a few days. Not feeling the greatest and have no energy. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app

2 plus weeks post op, zero weight loss

You might want to talk with your nutritionist about how much protein you should be taking in. Mine told me between 70 and 80 grams a day. She said if i have too much i could gain weight. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. I had my gastric sleeve on 10/23 and am on a full liquid diet. However, I mostly just drink my clear protein drinks since I started back at work. I've been feeling really full since I started my vitamin supplements and have a hard time getting in all my protein/water. I now feel that there is a constant lump in my throat (full feeling). I am trying to drink past it, but sometimes I get nauseated. I only urinate once a day and its very dark. I know I'm getting dehydrated, but don't know what to do. Any suggestions?
