Put on shoes and socks without dying. Wipe my azz without having to bend and contort into crazy positions. Stand for extended periods of time. Increased sex drive. Not having to question if a chair can support me. No shortness of breath.

Your feet will shrink and maybe even go down a size! I used to wear 9s now they’re all too big. I’ve been trying on 8 and 8.5 in shoes.

I'm a civilian working on a military base. This week, two of the soldiers I work with commented "you're looking thinner" and "you look like you've been losing weight". Yay! I'm sure it didn't hurt that last weekend I found a new pair of black pants that fit instead of just sagging all over. 26 pounds down since surgery....

No no lapband, too many people have failures and have to be sleeved later. Very few surgeon's still are doing them these days. I am a BMI,47 and I will be having a RnY. There are many people who have backed out of attempt #1. to a man they all say they wish they had done it the first-time and regret the time they wasted waiting. Do it, you know you want it. Sure you love your family, most of us do. But you are not doing it for them, you are doing it for yourself. If you don't it will be your body and your health that will suffer. Cool hard bottom line. We love you also, but listen to someone who has drug a fat painful body around for 72 long years, it ain't worth it to wait! I'm going to have surgery myself, it will be a lot easier for you and you'll bounce back quicker. You probably won't have the loose skin I'll have, my skin is also tired and worn. But I'm going forward, please join me?

Remember this is about HEALTH. If you had to have surgery for cancer would they be against it. My brother died a year ago. he weighed over 400 lbs. refused to go to the Drs. I was having breathing issues and had many times I thought I would die in my sleep. I was band failure and had revision to bypass. I'm not sorry. 7 weeks out 35lbs down.

You fit in a size 18! I havent been in 18s since 1998! Finally out of the 20s! I was probably about a size 28, or even 30! For once I went to the clothing closet at my weight management center, and everything I got fits except for 1 dress! Usually i am able to wear 1 or 2 items! I did also get a vs nightshirt and a LLR Randy style shirt. I got a dress for Easter. The top doesnt fit! I dont think my boobs would ever fit! A very successful day!

Eskarlet reacted to LittleLizzieLilliput in How do you keep from regaining weight and stretching stomach?
My surgeon said stretching was pretty unlikely as they remove all the stretchy parts of the stomach.

I just follow my protocol of focusing on Protein first. Then I fill up on chicken or Pork, majority of my calories and nutrition are obtained because I focus on Protein, then veggies, then complex carbs.

I made a decision at my first post-op follow-up appointment not to share numbers with people. I told my family that I wouldn't be sharing that information so they now know not to even ask that question.
They can see my progress and I am pretty open and frank about every thing else. The number on the scale is no one else's business, and really isn't even mine.

Why must we turn all threads into Tsk! Tsk! threads...instead of LISTENING to the OP who specifically said....NO JUDGEMENT PLEASE? She clearly just wanted a little support and encouragement.
I think the reading comprehension of those of you who feel you MUST correct people is lacking.
We're all adults. It's not your job to correct anyone. Particularly when you've been specifically asked by the OP not to.
    To me, that's disrespectful.
And don't tell me it's about protecting her safety or protecting the newbies or whatever other bullshit you use to justify your piousness. If it was about that...you'd have said your piece once and walked away. This is a pissing contest. And it makes it unsafe for others to express moments when they feel discouraged.
I think you're shitty to do that.

All of you are risking your health if you are cheating like within a few weeks of surgery. 'Treating yourself' is fine but why does it have to be with food? This is not to judge but to let you know this is not a path to success with the surgery. Yes, it will stop you from reaching your goal. And if you were sleeved 2 weeks ago, you are literally putting your life at risk. Seek out a good therapist to find out why you are sabotaging yourself.

Haven't been here in a while. I just had my three month check in with my Doctor and I'm under 400 lbs for the first time in a while! YAAY! I also joined a Gym in November and I have a personal trainer that I visit weekly. I'm noticing the weight loss and I'm just excited for more. WAY more lol.
My only issue is nosey co-workers who are trying to push me into revealing that I have surgery but I'd much rather not talk about it with them. It's so awkward.

I was sleeved Oct 23rd. I am down 22lbs since my day of surgery. Had my two week check up on Wednesday, and it went well. Thankfully, I haven't had any pain or complications other than soreness. I feel so normal as if nothing ever happened, until I start eating at my "old normal" pace, and suddenly I'm thinking "oh ****" lol. All is going well, and I am glad to hear you all are doing well too. I am excited for our journey! Keep up the good work.

I was sleeved on the 24th and my 2 week post-op appointment is this Wednesday. My surgery went fine but I was in a lot of pain, had no appetite, became dehydrated and developed a kidney infection (a rough 2 weeks I know). Now I still have a little bit of discomfort at my incision sites but other than that I’m doing a lot better.

I’m so ready to be off liquids and actually have some food. My only problem is I dropped 13 pounds last week and the scale hasn’t moved since last week and I’m starting to worry. But everyone around me is telling me I look so much smaller than I did before so that is my NSV.

41 lbs in 8 weeks is amazing! I was sleeved 10/16 and am down 42 lbs. 20 lbs a month is great. Continue on your plan, make sure you are moving, and the results will come. Slow and steady seems like a better approach than quickly for skin purposes. It's a lifestyle change. We didn't put the weight on in 3 months, so we can't expect to lose it in 3 months. Just imagine where we will be October of 2018!!! Keep up the good work

Hi everyone! I was sleeved on 10/10 and I just hit about 7 weeks out. The picture on the left was me the day before my two week pre-op diet and the right was at my 7 week mark. I feel incredible. I have more energy, my chronic pain is virtually gone and I am no longer pre-diabetic. I have no regrets about this surgery. I had a really rough time in the beginning but it got so much better after the first month. I was stuck in a two week stall but the scale is finally moving. I took measurements through the process and I strongly encourage others to, because after awhile the scale will not be your friend lol. I just wanted to post some encouragement this morning for someone maybe considering the surgery or maybe about to have it. It will be the best decision of your life!

First, it's a medical procedure and private. If I were having any other medical procedure, hysterectomy, my ingrown toe nails fixed, whatever, I wouldn't tell everyone. Second, I just don't want to be judged for 'taking the easy way out', 'why don't you just watch what you eat and exercise more', or anything else a doubter would say. And to be brutally honest, I'm afraid that I will fail again.
It's weird because I am actually an outgoing person and involved in many community activities. I generally like people and am open with just about everything else. I'm just embarrassed about my weight.
Maybe one day I'll 'come out', but for now just my immediate family as we live together and I have to.
