    Fairlife Core Power 42 grams

I thought the 42g one was the elite Fairlife one? Core power is 26? Literally Fairlife makes my life harder but it is the best tasting one 🤣 I love strawberry banana core power but I’m not shelling out how much they want for it around here/Amazon. So I have the regular strawberry Fairlife right now

    Blah...my first stall...

It won’t let me quote the video link but that was very helpful! I think my stall broke more because I changed a few things in my day to day but this is encouraging that it will break regardless!

    Blah...my first stall...

272 to 270.4, I’ll take it! PS I LOVE downtown Denver! But I agree, not walk friendly!

    Blah...my first stall...

The stall has broken! And I didn’t even have to weigh the dog 🤣 changing up my walking helped. Added in trails with some elevation.

    Blah...my first stall...

That’s it! I’m weighing the dog 🐕 🤣 scale reset!

    Blah...my first stall...

I’m telling you, if I weigh in Monday and it’s still 272 I’m throwing a brick at it. 🧱 272 has become my enemy 🤣

    Alcohol use

My very good friend that had gastric sleeve had transfer of addiction. Thank god she is sober now but she lost 100lbs and within 6 months from first drink post op she was diagnosed with alcohol abuse disorder. I doubt it would disqualify you but I imagine there will be more than the standard questions in your psych eval for you because of that history. Honesty is always best for your safety.

    May 2022 surgery?

My surgeons office says it’s normal for weight loss to be slow to start and sometimes even a little weight gain until week 6. If you are frustrated with it, can always switch something up. Eat more calories, workout a little longer, do a different workout entirely. I’ve been hiking with my dog the last few days for longer than our usual neighborhood walk and the scale is trending down. I’m out of the week 3 stall now it seems. The different elevation is probably helping me too—our usual walk is very flat, this new route is a little hilly.

    Period Irregularity post surgery

This happens and then the opposite happens. Still waiting for mine to show up post op ⏱ tick tock! 🤣

    Literally crying right now

I’d also pay attention to when you are eating and why. I think your first post said 1 hour after a mushy meal you had the 2 chicken things? My surgeons office/dietician would have my head if I was eating again that fast. I just wonder if some of the hunger you feel is actually “head hunger.” There’s lots of posts on here that reference that as well that could be helpful.

    Pain after surgery

Week 3.5 from sleeve to bypass and still having pain. The internal stitch can be painful up to week 6 is what I hear.
  12. Sleeve recovery was easier for me. I was off 3 weeks only because I didn’t have confidence in my ability to meet my Fluid intake goals at a fast paced hospital job until week 4 started. For the bypass, I’m off 3 weeks because it’s needed. I’m still in pain. Bending hurts. Bowels aren’t regular yet. Fluid intake isn’t met yet. It definitely hurts worse and is taking way more of my energy. Weight loss so far is faster with my bypass. But I am currently in the famous week 3 stall. -25 since 5/6 🤷🏼‍♀️ But I did lose -110lbs with my sleeve so it can be done before GERD and regain. Keep up the research, I hope it helps you ❤️
  13. Just curious, is there a reason you have landed on the sleeve vs bypass? Bypass does tend to lead to higher weight loss in more obese folks if folks follow their diet plans. I’ve had both now (sleeve to bypass) and wish I would have just done the bypass. But that’s just me! When I did the sleeve I was 225lbs so sleeve made sense, wish I would have given bypass another research though anyway. I ended up in the smaller percent of folks that get GERD and regain after sleeve. So bypass I went.

    Late Period?

I had a period the week before my surgery on 5/6 that was mostly normal, lasted a day longer than usual. I had to go off birth control before surgery and then now post op can’t resume until 7/6. It’s time for a period per my app (what would I ever do without that thing 🤣) and it’s a few days late. Is that fairly common? I’m a revision and after my sleeve I remember having a period very quick. But that was a few years ago.

    When/How to buy new clothes

This thread is older but for anyone still browsing: also check local Facebook support groups. I’m in a St. Louis one and Kansas City one and we exchange clothes all the time for my local. The KC one is my surgeons city and they have a clothing closet for patients. I bet a lot of major cities have Bariatric Facebook groups.

3+ month post op and eating in the morning

I’m not near that far out, 16 days. But I don’t eat “real food” until about 2 either. But like you I do a protein shake in the morning/late morning. Sometimes it’s just the one small meal and sometimes I can do two. I don’t mind it personally. My surgeon says it’s fine.

    Late Period?

I’d delete this if I could! I just found another thread that makes me feel like this is normal. I can’t figure out how to delete from phone :)

    Incisions

I had staples for 7 days. I could do literally nothing for the itch, not allowed to use any cream, oil, etc. I just itched around the clear bandage to ease my mind.

    Blah...my first stall...

Day 15 post op. I’m stalling at the moment as well. It’s like it’s a calendar event on my phone or something 🤣 as much as I read about it I’m still irritated hah. No gain, but no loss. Just have to ride it out!

    May 2022 surgery?

I’m on the “notify” list for the sample pack they sell on this site. It’s sold out along with all the other packs of the same brand so it must be good!

    May 2022 surgery?

Drinking soda ever again would be a huge mistake in my opinion. And my surgeons office agreed, they tell us not to. I had the sleeve to bypass and I can tell you one of my biggest downfalls was trying diet soda again when I had the sleeve. Now I’m prepared to say goodbye forever. Can stretch the stomach significantly over time.

    May 2022 surgery?

Itch means healing so yay for itchy!!! 🤣 I too am super itchy yet.

    So impatient!!!

I’m 13 days post op and I too want to work out (re: lift weights) so bad! But alas, I’ve always been a rule follower to a T so until the magic 6 week mark, I’m walking the dogs 🐕 🤣

How long were you off work after surgery?

3 weeks off for a medium demanding job. On my feet back and forth a decent amount. Going back 5/30 with lifting restrictions of no more than 15lbs for one month. My surgeons office states 3-4 weeks for gastric bypass (me) and 2-3 weeks sleeve.

    May 2022 surgery?

Oh man. So my plan says to do 8oz protein shake throughout the day (sip it). It’s 5pm and I hadn’t started it so I drank a little fast, over 30 min. My advice? Don’t be me. Ooof, the burps. My tummy saying “too fast child, too fast!” 😳😳😳
