4.5 Months – Eating Too Much?

Well after worrying yesterday I broke out the food scale today. Turns out that my boneless skinless chicken breasts are only 3.8 oz. so I guess it's not really so concerning that I can eat a whole one at 5 months out. I thought it was way bigger (like 6-8 oz.). That said, I do feel hungry way more often than I used to, and am losing at a much slower rate. But I guess that's just a normal part of the process.

4.5 Months – Eating Too Much?

I definitely ate it faster than I should have. But I thought the problem of eating too fast is that I get full too quickly and don't eat enough. Are you sure that eating too quickly can make me eat too much?
  3. I know the question of whether or not a sleeve can stretch is a hotly contested and debated topic here, but I'm afraid something stretched or went wrong. I'm 4.5 months out, and as of a couple weeks ago, I can eat a LOT more than I used to be able to. For lunch today, I had a whole boneless skinless chicken cutlet. Had to be at least 5-6 oz.! And its not like I'm cheating or forcing it down. I'm hungry a lot, and I don't get full unless I eat these large portions. Even then I'm often hungry again within an hour or two. I drink my recommended water every day so it's not just thirst. I know I'm still eating less than I used to, obviously, but did I do something wrong? Did I stretch out my sleeve? Is there anything I can do to fix this?

    OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE

Sleeved 10/31. Down 31 lbs from the sleeve, and 53 lbs including pre-op liquid diet. Down 66 total from my heighest weight. Eating real food again is amazing, and makes this process so easy.

    Am I eating too much?

But I've been stalled for a week now. I hope that isn't because I'm eating too much...
  6. I'm 3 weeks post op, doing mushies now, and I'm afraid I'm able to eat too much. Everyone here says at this point they either have no hunger, or get full after a couple spoonfuls. I'm rarely feel full and feel hungry every couple hours. I have yet to feel any restriction at all. I make myself stop eating after 3ish ounces just so I don't over eat. My nutritionist tells me that it's basically impossible and I should be eating 1/4 cup of food 3 times a day and I'll be fine but that's not a reality. Maybe I just healed too quickly, but if I only eat 1/4 cup per meal I'm literally starving over the day. I'm eating like 2-4 oz. every 3 hours. I'm on a PPI and getting in 80-100 oz. of water a day (I drink a lot when I'm hungry). Am I doing something wrong? Typical menu: Breakfast - 3 oz. of protein oatmeal (plain oats made with fairlife milk, 0% Fage, and a scoop of unflavored unjury) Morning Snack - 2 oz. mix of fat free refried beans and guacamole with a scoop of unflavored Unjury, with 1 oz. of melted cheese Lunch - 1 serving of Shelly's Ricotta bake Afternoon Snack - 1 Morningstar Sausage blended with Soft Cheese Dinner - 3 oz. of beef Chili Am I doing something wrong? Am I just unlucky/lucky to have a quickly healed stomach that can handle more food than most?
  7. The guidelines I was given say during the mushy stage I should eat max 1/4 cup of food 4 times a day. That's like 4ish dry ounces of food a day. That seems really really low. Like impossible to hit any type of nutritional goals type of low. Any thoughts? I know I should ask my NUT but she is not very helpful. Basically just says stick to the sheet (and buy the products on it obviously), and doesn't really seem to know too much of the details of how bariatric surgery actually works.

    Calling all October sleevers!!

Anyone else have 4 weeks of liquids? I just finished week 2 and am dreading 2 more weeks of this. And THEN 2 weeks of puree. A month+ till I can chew food again
  9. Did anyone else have a 4 week Post-Op Liquid diet? I've never heard of it elsewhere, but my Doctor does it. I'm going crazy. Just finished week 2 and it's so hard to think I have 2 more weeks. Especially since I (thankfully) healed from the surgery super fast. I was drinking normally and up and about basically the day after surgery, but I still can only have nasty Protein Drinks.

Does anyone else have 4 weeks of liquid diet after surgery? I just finished week 2 of 4 and I'm dying here.

    OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE

I was sleeved 10/31 and I'm always hungry. I'm on a PPI. I'm getting 70 g of protein a day. 64+ ounces of water. And I'm just always hungry. Also still have the same cravings I did before the surgery, and I'm able to drink like normal. It feels like I didn't even have the surgery and I'm just on a starvation diet And to make it worse, my doctor's plan is 4 weeks liquids, 3 weeks mushies. So I'm still 6 weeks away from even eating food. I really don't know how I'm going to survive this. This is much much harder than the preop liquid diet.
  12. Flavor was very artificial, way too sweet for me. And the consistency was kind of slimy.
  13. I hated Bariatric Fusion meal replacements. This is different?
  14. Never seen clear. Is it unflavored, or fruit flavored? Do you also find Premier Protein milk-based to be gross?
  15. I'm having trouble finding a good Protein Powder. I tried Bariatric Fusion and found it gross (especially the chicken soup). Premier Protein is just way too sweet for me. The Caramel is revolting, and the Banana and Cream is drinkable but soooo sweet. Everyone says Unjury is the best. If I don't like Bariatric Fusion or Premier Protein will I like Unjury? Am I doomed to find all Protein shakes undrinkable? Everyone keeps saying how great Premier Protein caramel is and I really find it disgusting.
