I was in the big and tall section, looking for just a tall shirt was a specific reason. The salesperson didn't think I belonged there.

In 2 days it’ll be one year since my sleeve. This morning I was a few ounces below 200. It was a great feeling, I have not weighed that since I was 18.

This past year was full of changes and looking back I just wanted to say thank you to all of you on here who post and/or reply. This site has been a great tool full of information as well as a place where people relate to what I am going through and I them. I’ve read some inspirational posts as well as those of heartache and funny ones as well. I will continue my journey, taking what I have learned from here and keep moving forward.

A big thank you again to the BariatricPal family, you all rock.

I honestly would not worry about it. If the oil is going to signficantly impact your diet, choose another item.
For example, you mentioned .25 cup of charred broccoli. How deep was the charring, a quarter cup is just volume of the measuring device and does not tell you what the packing factor was or the density of the broccoli, was it large peices, or chopped up squares or spherical pieces? See, you can get extremely deep on small servings of food.
Just eat healthy. Track your food, but don't worry about small details, like what type of oil was used or what ocean the shrimp came from.

wjgo got a reaction from polly... in Water exercise ideas for weight loss, arthritis and chronic pain?
There are certainly exercises you can do at home. Just do some research or discuss the matter with your Dr's fitness advisor.
For example, at home, you can use light weights for a variety of uses. You can do partial push-ups against a counter. You can get a medicine ball and just throw it up in the air and catch it repeatedly. When you are obese, it's hard to do any movement to get into to cardio. Walking may be the only thing you can do. Try making your walks more brisk.
Walking is a good exercise. As you loose weight, it'll get easier and you can go faster, farther. Your knee pains may subside or go away, my left knee did. Fat around knees will reduce motion. My feet were suppinating pre op, now that I lost 160lb, my feet are normal, tread wear on my shoes are perfectly even.
Are you pre or post op, and if pre op, when is your surgery?

Pro Tip:. Get Gummy Fiber things. Far easier to digest, no mixing, tastes good.
I have Fiber Choice Fruity Bites. 2 gummies are 10 cal, 4 carb, 3 dietary fiber 1g sugar.
Also use Vitafusion Fiber Well. 10 cal, 7carb, 5 dietary fiber,

I don't do any special pre or post work out. I just fuel up a string cheese if I feel a little hungry going to the gym. After workout, I have a Protein Bar. I wouldn't worry and the special concoctions unless you are hard core working out, or at least until you get your diet situation straighten out.

If you feel like crap, stop going to the gym, and take some days off. It won't hurt you. Take a week off. In fact every couple months at a gym, you should eb changing up your routine in a significant way. Maybe take a big break, and trying some jogging and train yourself into a 5k.

Make sure you are eating enough carbs and Protein. You could feel like crap because you are physically exhausted because you are not eating enough.

I finished my first half marathon yesterday! Finished in 2:12. Had two packages of Stingers chews, Water, and nuun for hydration. I'm glad it's over as my hips and right knee are mad at me today! It was a beautiful day, and I was able to run with my wife, so it couldn't have gone better

What kid of exercise would you like to eventually do? And have you been doing that before? Lifting weights does not juggle your body a lot, unless you are doing certain ones that really push your core like dead lifts.
I would say you can start to lift weights, low weight, and work up. I can sit at a chest press, shoulder press, incline press, tricep and machines and dumbbells, and a dozen more and have my entire upper body still. Some weight lifting where you bend might not be good yet, I would not do abdominals, back extensions or rotations yet.
You will need to do weights to maintain some muscle and muscle tone. Get cardio in when you can. After my surgery I trained for a 5k, but waited about 2 - 2.5 months before I actually jogged. I suggest training for a 5k run. It's free, and you can do it anytime at anyplace with the right clothes. But, in order to do a 5k, you'll need to walk it at minimum..... So like everyone else has suggested, get walking, and walk often.
The best motivation I found for going to the gym, and doing my 5k's for the cardio is not to loose weight. I don't go to the gym or run to loose weight. I got myself involved in activities where going to the gym supports them. I am training for a goruck.com event, firefighter training, and I joined a international sword fighting league or sorts, Historical European Martial Arts. So, I go to the gym to support those activities. Everytime I go to the gym, I know I am working on a type 2 twitch muscle Fiber for a faster sword block/parry or a stronger sword strike, I'll be able to do more push ups at the goruck.com event and I'll be able to pull hoses faster and when I run, I know I am pushing my cardio to loose more weight make everything easier and to givem myself more endurance. I suggest you find a reason to go to the gym or do cardio, because doing it to loose weight gets boring real.....

10 days is a short window for full recovery. I know that you should have a lot of motion, but the incisions may still be painful for some movements. I can't say how it might be for deep breathing for singing.

There is a fitness topic you can post in.
One can not target a specific area to loose fat from, your body decides, and your abdomin will probably loose the least proportion of excess weight as compared to other body areas.
9 days might be a little two aggressive for any exercises that stress the back or abdomin. I would wait a little while longer.
Lifting weights will need Water. So make sure you can get all your Water and Protein in. I remember it was still a struggle that soon after my surgery, if I did not start early enough, I'd run out of time.
One activity that opened up to me, that totally godsmacked me was running. I f'ing hated walking, let alone running - science and engineers created bikes, airplanes and cars for that. But I got motivated and trained myself to do 5k's the summer of my surgery. It's a great free way to burn in some cardio, it's free and can be done anytime and anywhere with the right clothing. But in order to train for a 5k, you need to be able to walk it. So keep walking so you can do 3 miles in case you do want to train for a 5k.

I think if someone wants to throw away all their progress and just say "f$&@ it, I don't care, I just want to pretend I care" they might try them. Those prepackaged diets are light on Protein, and high on carbs and have unacceptable amounts of sugar. Nutrisystem does not even highlight the amount of carbs in their meals.
I am a year out, and I wouldn't dare use them. I have old nutrisystem boxes, even unopened ones. I have maybe one or two of the meals a week only because it's food I already bought. As for all my meals, I would consider it the same as suicide, because I consider the surgery as having g saved my life. And, I still can't eat a whole meal.
