    One week post op

    That’s amazing MG1776. Congratulations!!!!
  2. Don't worry about that at all Killian. I weighed myself everyday since surgery as well and I was down every day, then the other day it said I went up 2lbs, today when I went on the scale I was down 3. Weight fluctuation happens to everyone which is why they suggest we only weight ourselves once a week (although that is tough to do). You will see it come off.
  3. I’m 5 days post op and granted I haven’t been on the top of the moon lately because I’m in a lot of pain and I’m naturally on all liquids and less than 300 calories per day however my husband has not changed his eating habits not even a tiny bit since I got home. He will sit right beside me on the couch and eat ho ho’s, peanut butter cookies, chips, peanuts, cheese burgers, candy, Burger King etc. etc. I finally looked at him today and said “don’t you have any consideration around what I’m going through right now? Can you maybe eat this in the kitchen and not 5 inches from my face (literally) and he looks at me and tells me just because I changed my life doesn’t mean he is changing his and to pretty much get over it. I’m so upset like on the verge of crying upset because my husband and I are best friends it’s not like we have had a bad relationship we love each other more than life but he has been so insensitive since I came out of surgery that it’s just mind boggling. Has anyone else dealt with this with their spouse??? Any advice would be more than appreciated.
  4. Thank you guys for all that great information. I by no means expect him to change his life I just wanted him to be a little more sensitive the first few weeks out of surgery. I realize that this is my choice and my choice alone and that I will always be around food and will need to deal with it and plan appropriately and that’s exactly what I plan on doing. There are just so many emotions for me the first week post op that I think I just go overwhelmed with it all last night and had a melt down. You guys are the best and I truly appreciate all your advice.
  5. I’m 5 days out today and this evening I am sooo hungry. I have eaten a sugar free popsicle and have been sipping water but nothing is helping. Anyone else feel hungry this early on in post op and if so any suggestions?
  6. Good luck it will all be worth it.
  7. Thanks for your responses. We talked it out last night and he apologized for being insensitive right now. Things will get easier with time but the first month of eating liquids and purred food is not easy. Thanks for listening.

    Time off

I took three weeks off. I’m a week out tomorrow and there is no way in the world I would be able to go back anytime soon
  9. I have Aetna and I was required to do a 6 month diet plan.
  10. My surgeon said if I have any pain in my chest to contact them. Not saying it’s anything serious but I would definitely call to make sure.

    Protein!!

My favorite in Unjury which is medical protein powder. They also have sample packets online so you can try it before you buy a lot. My favorite is chocolate and strawberry and the flavorless which you can add to any and everything for added protein.
  12. Gorgeous. Congratulations.

    Hunger

Oh wow sorry to hear that. I have the same growling feeling. I’m not on a PPI either. I will continue to follow the all liquid diet I was just hoping I wasn’t the only one hungry 5 days out.

    Hunger

I am not on a PPI but I was prescribed heartburn medicine but I haven’t taken any because I didn’t feel I needed it. Are you all saying I should take it and see if it helps the hunger?
  15. I am 4 days post off and naturally on full liquids however I’m getting less than 200 calories per day. That includes broth, one protein shake and sugar free jello. That just sounds like such a low amount of calories am I doing this right?
  16. I had my lap band put in in 2012. Lost 50lbs was experiencing severe reflux and it had to be completely drained. I was self pay so there went $17,000 down the drain [emoji15] I just had my lap band conversion to the VGS on Tuesday and my insurance paid 100% thank god. It’s tough but I know it will all be worth it. Good luck.

    3 days post op.

I’m 4 days out and it’s been beyond tough as it relates to the pain. I’m not having any issues getting my liquids down but my pain under my right rib cage is more than I ever thought it would be. One day at a time is all we can do. I am down 6lbs though so I know this will all be worth it but it’s definitely no fun. Prayers for all of us.

    Regret

I feel horrible too and I am 4 days out. I don’t know why I felt I would be fine by now but I did. Sleeping is tough sitting up is tough going to the bathroom is tough. I get scared every now and again that something went wrong and I’m not healing right. It’s a very scary thing that’s for sure and if anyone says we took the easy way out they are crazy.

    Not loosing wait

I have also read from many many people about the two or three week stull. Many don’t lose their second or third week post op but then it starts right back up again. You’re in the healing process. It will take time.
  20. I was operated on on Tuesday of this week and I finally go home tomorrow. My question is should I weigh myself or wait u til my first post-op dr appt? I see some people who have had amazing results and others who have gained. I know this is a time of healing and everyone’s body is different but I must admit I’m curious to say the least? Suggestions are most welcomed.
  21. Thanks for all your responses. I decided to weigh myself when I got home and I’m down 4lbs in 3?days. I guess that’s not all that bad.
  22. So sorry you’re in so much pain. I stayed in the hospital for 4 days. Just got out today. I felt horrible the 2nd and 3rd day I couldn’t have imagined leaving then. I am sure you will feel better soon. Take good care.
  23. Awesome Sosewsue61 sounds like you’re doing great. Still no gas for me. I keep walking but nothing coming out lol. Baby sips of water and a little broth and jello. My husband is in complete amazement that I’m not starving after these four days. Dr is keeping me one more night since my conversion from lap and to sleeve was more complicated than he thought. Happy to be here. Not ready to go home just yet.
  24. I had my surgery yesterday. Was in some pain until they got it under control. Was up and walking three hours after getting to my hospital room. Nurses were shocked but after I had my c section with my daughter (15 years ago) I recall the sooner I got up and walked the faster I healed. I have been eating ice chips and drinking small sips of water. Only had a couple bites of jello last night and one teaspoon of broth. I will see how breakfast goes shortly. Being removed from IV today and going to liquid medicine. Fingers crossed for a successful day. Not sure when I’m leaving it may be tomorrow or Friday. Much love to you all!!!
  25. I have been hearing so many good things about how good the Bone Broth tastes so I bought a ton of it and just had my first taste (chicken flavor, fat-free, gluten free) and it was NASTY!! In major panic mode being my surgery is tomorrow. Is there any broth out there that is liked by most or are my taste buds not like most everyone elses???
