    Down 62 lbs

Of course @FluffyChixhad to go there with it!!! Hahahahaha.
  3. 41 lbs in 8 weeks is amazing! I was sleeved 10/16 and am down 42 lbs. 20 lbs a month is great. Continue on your plan, make sure you are moving, and the results will come. Slow and steady seems like a better approach than quickly for skin purposes. It's a lifestyle change. We didn't put the weight on in 3 months, so we can't expect to lose it in 3 months. Just imagine where we will be October of 2018!!! Keep up the good work

    Down 62 lbs

@Mr EdwardsI'm in a similar situation, down 86lbs overall, and while visibly smaller in size, my belly seems to be stubborn and wants to be the last to go. Little things remind me of the progress made, like thinking to myself "am I going to fit in that booth, or can I make it between the chair and wall?" and find myself having no issues at all where I would have in the past. Keep at it, the belly will eventually go (at least that's what I'm telling myself).

    Looking for Kaiser patients

@CaliforniaCandy I had VSG done. The only problem I had was right after surgery I would get dizzy and light headed after standing up which they attributed to some bleeding going on. Once that stopped, I was up moving around and feeling good. Since then, I've had no issues. My energy is far beyond pre-surgery and now I feel great. The scale is dropping and I'm buying clothes in smaller sizes. I can get my fluids in without a problem and protein as well. Doing one shake a day for a snack, yogurt for breakfast, and then a fish or chicken for lunch and dinner to make sure I hit my protein goals. When eating, I have enough room for about 3 oz of protein and maybe a couple bites of vegetables. I had to lose only 4 lbs preop since I had lost about 35lbs prior on my own, so I didn't have a true preop diet, with the exception of full liquids two days prior, and clear liquids the day before.
  6. Today I hit my first mini goal I set for myself early on in my journey. In February of this year I was at my highest at 327. At my consultation I was 291, surgery date 10/16/17 was 283, and today, 11/23 I am 249.4. 77.6 lbs down overall and over 33 since surgery. I still have work to do, but am so excited to hit the first of many goals I’ve set for myself. My next goal is 225.
  7. I'm a few days shy now of 8 weeks since surgery and as of this morning, am down 42 lbs. Some weeks are better than others, however, the drop has been linear and consistent for the most part. I have to look at the bright side, each week hasn't been going up in weight, clothes are fitting better, and I can shop in any store I want to now.

    Looking for Kaiser patients

@CaliforniaCandyKaiser did not require a sleep study. I made the surgery and the entire process a priority and took the first available for whatever the next step was so that I could get through the process as quickly as possible. This may work for some, and not for others. I was ready for the change and was taking the steps needed to change my habits and get approved. It's been a blessing. This coming Monday will mark 8 weeks since surgery, and I'm happy to say that today I've lost 42 lbs since 10/16/17.

    Stop losing weight Week 3

The third week stall is real. Just keep on track, follow your plan, exercise, and ditch the scale for a week. Your body is still changing for the better, and sometimes the scale doesn't reflect that. I'm 7 weeks now and the scale has slowed significantly, but clothes are looser fitting and I'll need to punch a notch in my belt. Stay the course, it'll start coming off again soon.

    Pouch

Great read @James Marusek! I am 7 weeks post op and found many useful tips. It is definitely an exciting journey, and I love the fact that I can now go into any store and find clothes that actually fit and look good.

Do you have take out/Fast food?

I'm 6 weeks post op and have had take out or fast food a few times, however, it has been things that have fit in my plan. For example, when I was on the puree stage, I had a Taco Bell Pintos N' Cheese, or a Wendy's chili (taken home and blended). Last night after doing some shopping, we had Chic-Fil-A and I got grilled chicken nuggets (130 calories and 14g of Protein in 4 nuggets). As long as you stick to your plan, you should be fine. I try and order plain and basic, keeping sauces and seasonings to the side and season sparingly myself. I'm finding that I can find things to order most everywhere we go.
  12. MG1776

    I have a question?

I would say yes, as I don't believe you can get in your needed protein amounts with just pureed foods.
  13. MG1776

    Thanksgiving

I'm going to stick to my plan. Protein first, so maybe a couple ounces of moist turkey, and then vegetables. If room, maybe a tablespoon of mashed potatoes. My pouch is too restrictive to indulge in a bunch of crap, so I'll just stay the course and enjoy the people and conversation at the table rather than the heaping plate in front of me.

Luckily my job is flexible, so when scheduling the next appointment, I asked for the next available and was able to speed things along that way.
  15. This weekend we had end of season football banquets. It was awesome to hear from people that hadn't seen me for a couple of weeks saying how great I looked, I've lost a lot of weight, what am I doing, etc. It was great to hear positive comments and know that everything I was wearing was much smaller than what I was wearing just 6 weeks ago. I'm .2 lbs away from 75 lbs total loss from my heaviest weight, 40lbs since the surgeon consult, and 25 lbs since my sleeve on 10/16. As I sat and relaxed with my wife, we were browsing some photos that were taken and she was shocked by some taken this weekend and how different I looked. She also commented about how different my forearms, hands, and legs looked. I'll take that! Every day is progress, whether the scale reflects it or not. I'm down to a 36-38 size pants from a 44, and a XL shirt from a 3XL. Still have 60lbs-ish to go (not sure what my "goal" is quite yet, just want to be in onederland) and will get there when I get there. No need to rush it. For now, I'm still learning, and becoming a better me with each day that passes.

    Stopped losing weight

Just stick to the plan. I was sleeved 10/16 and had been in a stall for 10 days or so. In the past 5 days I've dropped 4 lbs. I didn't change anything. I stuck to my plan and exercised like I have been doing. You will do the same. It may be 10 days, it might be 5 days, it might be 3 weeks. Your body is changing even though the scale may not reflect it.

    Looking for Kaiser patients

@CaliforniaCandyI had VSG in Kaiser South Sacramento 10/16. My initial consultation was 08/11 and had all my appointments crammed in as quickly as I could. You will have nutrition classes, support group meetings, surgeon consult, psych appt, etc. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks, Mike
  18. Today marks 1 month since my VSG. I am 37 lbs down from my initial surgeon visit on 09/11/17, and 21.4 lbs down since surgery 10/16/17. I went from a size 44 pant to a 38, and those are now getting loose. My wardrobe has all been given to goodwill since my clothes were all way too big. I feel great, getting my liquids and protein each and every day, and walking or going to the gym 5 days per week at least. The scale has slowed down the last 10 days or so, but my body is constantly changing. The scale will move. It didn't all get put on overnight, and won't come off overnight. Slower may be better for skin reasons, right? Anyhow, I'm so thankful I did this. Not only do I feel 10 times better, I sleep better, move better, look better, and the constant comments from people isn't bad either! I'm going to bust my butt this next month to see what kind of progress I can make!

Hello & congrats on your progress!! I saw you are Folsom and so I wanted to say hello. I grew up n Auburn! I'm now in Texas but I truly miss my California roots! Anyway, great job on your progress!

Congratulations on your progress and awesome attitude! So excited for you that you are having so many positive results besides just a lower number on the scale. I'm still pre-op so it is still such a rush every time I read a positive outcome, but even negative ones help to educate me, so all feedback is important. Anyway, good luck this coming month at the gym ~ let us know how it goes :)

Great attitude, MG1776. I think I am going to borrow that once I get the surgery and hit the inevitable stall.

    Tespo vitamin dispenser

@Sherry RiceIt does not meet the vitamin levels that they are recommending at this time. I so wish that wasn't the case as doing a vitamin shot in the morning and evening would be so much better than 3 pills, 3 dissolvables, 1 chewable in the morning, chewable at lunch, 2 pills and a chewable at dinner, 2 chewables before bed.

    Tespo vitamin dispenser

my NUT and surgeon told me it wouldn't give enough of the vitamin amounts that I need. Every surgeon and vitamin regimen is different, so what may work for some, might not work for others. I'm hoping that down the road my surgeon approves it, as the "shot" looks so much easier than the pills, disolvables, and chewables!

    3 weeks out

I was sleeved 10/16, still somewhat in my stall, down 1 lb in 9 days. Just keep at it, it'll come off.
  22. @DropWt4Life Kudos to you! You are an inspiration. February of this year I was at my heaviest, 327lbs. I had surgery 10/16 and weighed 278 the day of surgery, and am 258 today. It feels great. Unfortunately, I'm not the 6'3" that you are and am only 5'10". I'm hoping to be 100lbs+ lighter in February of 18. Keep at it!
  23. @JerseyJulesI love your youtube channel, keep it going!
  24. @RomAncaI don't have any hunger. I eat at a normal breakfast/lunch/dinner time knowing that I need that fuel and protein to keep my body going. I haven't experienced a real hunger since surgery. It's a very strange feeling, but I'll take it! I am down 66lbs from my heaviest way (actually 68 lbs now), and 31 lbs since my initial surgeon consult, 18 lbs since surgery.
