klarthur got a reaction from Apple203 in Struggling with fatigue and lethargy
I am almost 6 weeks post-op and had very little energy first 3-4 weeks. Had to take a nap after getting home from work every day and didn't want to get any exercise. Doing much better now. I'm now walking 2 miles every evening instead of napping. I can't eat very much at a time. But being able to eat regular food now is giving me more energy.

klarthur got a reaction from Fibro Queen in Anyone else feeling completely drained?
My surgery was on 10/11. I have little energy. I took 5 days off, then worked from home for a week, then back to the office. I'm an accountant so just sit at a computer all day. But still am ready to take a nap when I get home. I try to get out for a walk most evenings. But some evenings I just can't. I'm struggling to get enough Water and calories every day. I just can eat so little at this point. It's hard for me to believe a person can live on only 300-400 calories a day. That's all I can get in right now. I sometime force myself to stay up so I can drink more water. I wish I could fast forward a few months. I know it will get better!

Only my immediate family and my boss knows that I'm having this surgery right now. They have all been very supportive so far. I'm 56 years old and decided along time ago to not worry about what other people think or say when it comes to my life (or anything really). You know your body and what you have tried and what you need to do. Be strong and don't let others affect your decision. It took me 2 years to finally make my decision. I feel like I tried everything and the weight just keeps adding on. I'm still about 3.5 weeks until my surgery. I'm apprehensive, but excited and hopeful for my future healthier self!
