Everyone has issues like that. People are always going to be unsupportive. You need to do what is best for you. It's not about losing some weight, it's about losing weight and keeping it off. Anyone can lose some weight, but long term success is what matters.

I know this feed is a min old but I'm currently on day 5 post op from my DS and I would say that by day 3 I could do the basic things for myself, even if it took me forever. I stayed 1 night in the hospital (my doctor said I could spend a second night if I wanted but I didn't). I take myself to the bathroom and am mostly forcing myself to get up and get my own jello/broth/medication so that I can get more walking in. I live in a split entry and the stairs have not bothered me as long as I take it slow, but once I'm on the top floor I have everything I need and don't have to go up and down the stairs multiple times a day. I did need my husbands help showering and dressing though, mostly because I couldn't dry my legs or bend over completely to get my pants on. The biggest thing I've needed my family's help with is watching my 4 year old. There's no way I have the energy to keep track of him right now
