Somebody congratulate me, I just passed my Psych Evaluation! I used that online/phone company and I don't think our phone call was more than 20 minutes. At the end he wished me luck and i flatout asked him if I passed and he said I did with flying colors! What no ink blots? LOL

My husband of 31 years married a very chubby girl. He saw me for who I was inside and didn't harp about the outside. Don't get me wrong, of course he is worried for my health, but he married me for me. Now I'm hoping to give him the present of a hottie for a wife! He is my best friend and I'm grateful he wasn't a shallow man.

celticNgel reacted to Sullie06 in I'm terrified to give away my fat clothes now that I'm tiny!
I bounce between sizes now that I'm a straight size so I only keep the sizes I'm currently in. For example I'm currently a 12/14 depending on brands so I just packaged all of my 16s up and gave them away. Knowing I have nothing to wear if I gain weight allows me to be more diligent that I'm making good choices. I've gone from a tight 22 to a 12/14 in 9 months and I never want to go back.

Congratulations on your amazing journey! I take your story to heart as I am a high risk going into this surgery. But much for feeling is, and my doctor concurs, I am a higher risk without the surgery! I know that my faith has been tested through all of this, but I believe that God has my back at every turn congratulations on all you have done, and thank you for sharing your story. It gives me hope that even though I am not an amazingly physically fit woman because of a broken neck I can still lose weight!

I agree completely bro! I am sick of having to pay extra for "Big and Tall" and not having a whole lot of selection! I also want to be able to fit in the rides at Busch Gardens again and be able to ride roller coasters with the kids!! Wife and I also have a cruise scheduled for June 2018 that we have to fly to Seattle for. I am looking forward to being able to get into a seat and have a little bit of room to move around, rather than just barely being able to fasten the seat belt! I am looking forward to being healthier and living longer without knee pain, back pain, hypertension, or a fatty liver!!! Sorry @celticNgel I just can't see myself going to Victorias Secret and getting a nice bra and panty set unless it was for the wife, she would get downright medieval for any other reason!

The easiest way to stick to a strict diet is to figure it out ONCE and then eat the same exact thing every day. Boring? Sure. But it's good training for the boring, restricted diet postop.
    Sample menu:
Breakfast: 1 cup full fat cottage cheese and 1 small fruit (320 cal)
Lunch: 2 eggs and 1 cup pinto Beans with 2 T. Salsa (400 cal)
Dinner: 1 4oz skinless chicken thigh, 1.5 cups green beans, 5oz sweet potato (426 cal) you can add a total of 1 teaspoon of butter if you want for an additional 34 calories.
There you go. Salt, pepper, cinnamon, and herbs are all ok. Each meal features Protein, carbs, and fat. No Snacks (if you MUST have a snack, save the fruit from Breakfast and don't add butter at dinner. Now you can put a teaspoon of Peanut Butter with your fruit.)
Chicken thigh is 206 calories, can switch out for other equal-calorie meats or fish.

I felt exactly the same way before surgery. I was overwhelmed and a hot mess. To the point where psych evaluated me as a risk. I gained weight before the preop diet. I did lose 15'lbs once I went on the preop diet but before that oy, I just kept gaining. I truly didn't think they were going to approve me. Even after I still struggle every day and feel like I make it harder for myself. But I am losing weight and I am trying daily. My point is, you're not unusual in that way. The thing is a 1200 calorie diet pre surgery is hard! That's a strict diet. How much weight do they want you to lose in 15 weeks? How old are you? I found the two week preop diet doable but idk how I would've done over 15 weeks. That's a long time and if I could diet that easily for that long I would've not needed surgery.

1200 calories is hard. I am 2 years post op and sometimes I have 1200 calories, but rarely. I can't really function off of it. It is a huge deficit for someone with a normal metabolism.
I think you are being too hard on yourself.
Losing weight post wls is easy because you have no hunger, your are healing so eating hurts, and you have a major metabolic reset going on in your body.
I was a diet failure for decades. WLS boom, lost over 170 pounds in less than 2 years. And it felt pretty easy most of the time. I'm not a serious exerciser and I still lost my weight and kept my msucle up, so all is not lost.
Don't give up keep going, and be kind to yourself.
