7 WKs Post Op and Pregnant

*Update* I went to the ER last night due to spotting, they checked me and baby out, everything is good. Heard heart beat and saw the little fetus, I am 6 weeks and 2 days and they said that my HCG levels were slowly rising which signals a slow growth but it could very well just be due to surgery as well so for now we are taking it day by day, I feel good however and we will be keeping s close eye on the pregnancy. I will update further as it goes along. Appreciate everyone's support, prayers & kind words.

    3 days post sleeve

You cannot never take in too much liquid. Just pace yourself, you must take it slow, soon you will be in the puree stage and be super thankful lol, I know I sure did get tired of liquids all the time. Any phase really gets tiring, at 7 WKs post op, I was restricted to only cooked protein and protein shakes, they said no more cheese for me I love cheese lol but I guess it for the better to push the weight loss. Hang in there, all of you, it does get better! Oh and make sure you walk, walk & walk! Sent from my Moto E (4) using BariatricPal mobile app

7 WKs Post Op and Pregnant

    Appreciate it! Thank you 🙏
  10. So as the post says, I am 7 weeks post op, had surgery back on March 28. I've had a very good recovery, no issues what so ever. I had an appointment with doc and ask for b/c on the 26th of April, as normal they tested for pregnancy and it was negative so they recommended I get an IUD and wait for my period so they can easily place it, I was scheduled for the following week to get the IUD placed but I had to reschedule to the following week because my period did not come. So the appt comes around, still no period but that day I was extremely nauseated and my breast we're sore for what felt like 3 weeks straight. I was also dizzy, when I would get up, I would get light headed. I was tested again, waited 5 mins, 10 mins, 15 mins and I just KNEW something was up. Never in a million years did I think I would be pregnant. After 7 yrs without a pregnancy, after 3 miscarriages and 10 yrs of trying, never did I think it would happen, I had given up hope and was Ok with never being a mom. To my surprise and my doctor's, I was pregnant. My doctor did not believe it either when the nurse told her considering my history. Now it's only been 6 days since I've found out and I'm scheduled for a follow up this Monday, I have an ultrasound scheduled for Tuesday and am waiting for a call back from the hospital for the specialist OB, I am considered high risk and they said I need to be monitored closely. I had blood work done and the HCG was over 3k which made me feel good, knowing what I've experienced in my past with those numbers. My doc said she thinks I'm about 3 weeks along, we are not sure but will know more with the ultrasound. I was on a regimen of antibiotics for H Pylori post op but I have stopped taking those meds along with the Prilosec since finding out. Per my surgeons office and doc, I should not take them. I am anxious to find out if everything is ok, like I said I feel good and I am eating well also but in the back of my mind, I will ALWAYS have that fear of miscarrying again. However I know God is great and he would not give more than you can take, he would not have blessed me with this, he works in mysterious ways and I am very thankful for my blessings. I will keep updating as I go along as I want to share my experience with others since there is not much knowledge out there with pregnancy post op, especially so soon!

  12. I agree, I have a difficult husband very hard headed BUT he understands that I need this because nothing else has worked. If he is truly there for you and loves you he will support you and not discourage you from WLS, especially when you would be looking wayyyyyyy better, like hello? Maybe he’s insecure, thinks once you loose it, you will be the one leaving him! Sent from my iPhone
