Having dropped from 7XL or 8XL shirts/tops to XL or 2XL in the last 11 months, I certainly appreciate that I now pay $7.95 for a rash vest or t-shirt rather than $29.95.
I know being ultra-large used a lot more lycra or cotton but I am pleased about the 65% price saving on many common items.

I found this post while flipping through here. My heart goes out to you. This response prompts me to pray more for you. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are real; I speak with them daily. I will pray that you will come to know their endless, boundless love that is like no other. All these words are said in love and encouragement.

You are not going to have a lap band, surely? The success of gastric sleeve operations in substantially higher than lap band.
    I'm confused.
    Please explain.

See, this is exactly the problem. You know @Rainbow_Warrior isn't religious, yet you are going to state that your belief supersedes Rainbow_Warrior's? Just because you talk to yourself, doesn't mean that what you believe is a God exists.

How about I get a few of my Satanic friends to worship to Satan in your honor? To have them pray to Satan for you? I can do this if you want, or I can do this if you don't want. How you would feel if I told you I just reached out to them and they are going to have a special service at their temple in your honor, to pray to Satan to show you the truth? Would you be so appreciative?

But, Geena, when you tell CONSCIOUS people that you do not believe in imaginary friends in the sky and that you have no truck with prayers or chats with deities, they should not come back on another occasion and over-ride your wishes and beliefs NOR attempt to proselytise.
Several of us have made this point previously and it seems to go over the heads of others in the thread.

You both make decent points, but the crux of the matter is that if you are really trying to comfort someone, then make an actual effort and do not assume that what comforts you comforts them. Why is it so hard to accept that not everyone believes in your fairy tales and horror stories and that it's very arrogant of you to assume such. Instead, if you don't know the person well enough, why not ask the person you're trying to support what you can do to help. If the person says "You can pray for me, I'd appreciate that," then fine, you're in the clear, go ahead and get on your knees and pray you head off.
But until you can provide absolute proof that your imaginary friend actually exists, do not invoke him/her/it/them in an effort to comfort me or anyone else unless you know it's wanted. That's called simple politeness. Don't treat everyone as if they're exactly the same with the same needs, same wants and same beliefs. Either respect those differences and make a miniscule effort or just remain silent.
The fact remains to me is that there is absolutely no proof whatsoever of an supernatural being and I do not need reminders of how people believe in that idiocy to the point where they let it run their lives and use their believes to try to justify their trying to legislate the behavior of others. As an atheist, can you imagine how it sounds to hear government officials cite the bible in supporting separation of children from their parents simply because they're trying to escape poverty and violence? Don't give me this crap about "Well, they're not real Christians," because that's total bullshit. Every Christian thinks they're the true Christians, and it's going to be that way until there are no more Christians.
    Religion makes everything worse, period.

The crux of what the OP said in the first place is NOT lost on me.
There is an element of rudeness (or, in a worst case, bullying) when one describes ones feelings and beliefs to friends, colleagues and relatives ... and still one is not respected for the individual opinions or choices.
The OP was not against mistaken comments ... but more annoyed, I thought, by people who were in full knowledge who chose on later meetings to try to ignore his/her opinions or feelings.
It is rude by some to impose their beliefs and lifestyle on others who live/believe differently.

@elforman I usually ask first, do you mind if I pray for you? A person has a choice to refuse or accept and that is fine. Someone may be Hindi, Muslim or another religion than Christianity and I have found that most are willing to accept a prayer regardless because it usually stems from kindness. But it is an individuals prerogative to say 'no thanks' and we (the offerors) should not get offended by that.

Girrrlll, yes! My farts are super loud and elongated. I had to apologize to my brother in law yesterday, because I honesty didn't think he would have been able to hear me. We were outside, and it was windy, kids playing in the yard, ect. We were a very fair distance from each other. He heard! Oh he heard!

Rainbow_Warrior got a reaction from Sleeved36 in I’m now OBESE CLASS 2 at 261 pounds!
I was not sure what that meant so I used a search engine.
It seems that 40 and over is "OBESE CLASS 3".
Well, guess what, my BMI fell under 40 just last Saturday, six days after my 62nd birthday.
Once I dropped under 124.7 kg (275 pounds), I had made it.
At 124.6 kg, I was 50 kg (110.2 pounds) under my weight/mass on the day I met my surgeon 48 weeks ago on Monday July 17th, 2017.
I'm batting for better than 1.000 by reaching more than 52kg lost by July 16 (52kg in 52 weeks).
Cheers to you and your achievement. Your post prompted me to look it up and find out that we both transferred an obesity category at about the same time. (I remember when my BMI was 61+ and when I did not expect to make my 60th birthday!)

In Australia, we have a wonderful product but it's very, very expensive ... called V.I.Poo (Very Important Poo).
    My wife stands by it.
I on the other hand, prefer the lingering cover smell (and the very reasonable price) of NILODOR.

Had my bypass on 4/20/18. Two weeks later sharp pain on lower left side. Was admitted to hospital with an abscess on my bowel. Had to stay back to stage 1 liquids. It's been 5 weeks now and still vomiting from most solids. Had an endoscopy last week. Everything looked good except some irritation, probably from throwing up everyday. I'm on heavy antacids and testing what makes me throw up. I can't do meats except Turkey, nothing fried, no breads, no eggs.....
Has anyone experienced food allergies post-op?

When I'm in distress the last thing I want or need is someone reminding me that they're calling on their imaginary friends for help, and even worse, they think that I should appreciate and support their delusion. I've literally suffered in my life because of people's moronic beliefs, ranging from girls not being allowed to date me by their parents in middle school because I wasn't the same religion as them to actually getting beaten up at age 13 after some idiot kid learned in church that the Jews killed Jesus. I had nothing but problems with my ex wife's family over the fact that I didn't believe in their fairy tales. I see women's reproductive rights restricted and gays demonized and declined services because of what religious books of fairy tales and horror stories tell their followers. I see school boards try to teach creationism and deny science and evolution.
So to you and everyone else who says to shrug it off, I say screw you. I refuse to accept and normalize any religion in any form.

I think the overuse of "thoughts and prayers" make it very disingenuous. Politicians use that tired old phrase all of the time and hardly care. Instead of thoughts and prayers, offer solutions!

Your husband sounds like an entitled prat.
History says that GASTRIC SLEEVE surgery works to help over 90% of patients improve their health and their lives exponentially.
I had failed to stick past many previous diets. I'd get to four months or seven months and then have an emotional or career setback that would undermine my resolve.
35 weeks ago today, I had the surgery and it gave me the impetus to beat my troubled relationship with food and exercise.
    I am 104 pounds (47.6 kilograms) lighter than I was on 12th October 2017.
Tell him the history of the op is pretty sound. Tell him that you don't need the negative attitude.

You don’t think ALL Christians mean any disrespect when they say something like that to you or ME.
Sadly, @Love2Travel816 , some do. It's quite clear after I've told them my feelings & beliefs, yet they persist in some form of proselytisation or missionary-like zeal.
