Question, when I did my lapband, I had to do 3 weeks of liquid diet (I lost 26 lbs) Someone I know is having the sleeve done and she only had to be on liquid diet one day!. Is this possible? Inquiring minds want to know!

Entirely possible.
Entirely normal.
Horses for courses stuff.
Doctors are different and have different expectations.
Patients, too, are all different. Not all generalities apply to everyone.
Some doctors have short liquid diet suggestions for their patients.
My surgeon generally sets two weeks for MOST patients. In my case though, with a BMI of close to 50, he asked for FOUR WEEKS. I chose unilaterally to make it even easier on him by doing SIX WEEKS.

At my WI this past Friday, I surpassed 60 lb total loss! That's 20% of my body weight from my highest weight this summer I lost 20ish lbs before surgery, and another 40ish lbs since surgery. Happy to keep moving onward and DOWNward!

Your low stomach bulge has all but disappeared.
You are looking so much better for your exercise and commitment.

I don't know if anyone else feels this way. Other than my husband and mother in law I'm not having anyone else around when I have this surgery done. On the one hand I would love to have a surgery buddy, but on the other hand, I think I would be happy with just my hubby and his mother. Anyone else feel this way?

Seems she's in the same grandstand as my mother.

In the long run, you'll be better off if you can stay away from soda drinks.
They are one of the top three reasons that weight loss surgery recipients fail.
If you can spend the time and energy diverting yourself to new sources of liquid intake that are pro-WLS, you'll have a better chance of not sliding back to old habits.
As Veronique says, it's worth trading soda off for a better future you!

Had my surgery on Friday 10/27 afternoon. I was doing so well in recovery that they released me after only one night in the hospital I've been super fortunate so far, only needing one pain pill in the hospital, and right now just taking liquid ibuprofen. I've been burping since the hospital, but today was my first day at home with protein shakes and finally started passing gas - yay! lol Most of my discomfort is from soreness from the surgery and gas pressure. No issues getting my protein shakes in and keeping them down. All of my docs were super happy with my recovery, and my surgeon said the procedure went perfectly. Here's to the start of my new life!

Ran my first 5k yesterday! Ran the entire time.

Today is my first day back at work since my surgery 10/16. I thought I had thought about everything and returning to work, meals, protein, water, etc. One major thing I didn't think about was me getting dressed for work this morning and putting on slacks that I wore pre-surgery...they looked ridiculous and were entirely too big. It was awesome and stressful at the same time. Luckily, as I rummaged through the closet I found a smaller size that I kept for some strange reason, and while still a bit baggy, they were much better. Guess I'll need to get a couple pairs of slacks tonight to get me through the next month or so, then swap those out. What an awesome feeling to get rid of clothes for being to big for a change.

I had surgery 12th Oct and returned to online work (one of my jobs) after 12 days.
I did a one-hour home-consultation with a referral customer on the fifteenth day. (Fri Oct 27)
I returned to my Tuesday evening office job, a 1:45pm-6:45pm regular slot on the 31st (last Tuesday).
It seems we are on a similar pace with work.
(I'm officially retired ... July 2016 ... but I have a skill set in demand which means I get almost as much part-time and casual work as I want.)
Is your work full-time, part-time, casual?

Yeah ... 22 days back, my wife dropped me off at the hospital on the Thursday (OCT 12) 7AM.
She picked me up after a Saturday shift in the pharmacy at 3:30pm.
One sister, my brother and my mother called in as visitors on the Friday evening.
I shared my WLS news with my daughter and daughter-in-law, my siblings, my mother, my best man and a supportive male neighbour (a former professional friend).
Other wise, it's near to a closed secret.

OK people, what have you done or wish to do after surgery that you haven't done in a while? Me, I can't wait to run again. Running is something I enjoyed in the past, however, my knees can't take it right now.

If you are sipping liquids at the rate of three half-teaspoons per minute and you're getting no reflux or negative feedback from your stomach, that's good.
If you are inserting a teaspoon of food every 45-55 seconds and chewing it well then swallowing and you are not getting reflux, you are on the right track.
I don't know your surgeon/clinic ... but this is in the post-op book from my clinic.
