MaryPoppins got a reaction from Frustr8 in Hernia Repair
I’m having my surgery on July 30th because of my hernia. My entire stomach is in my chest. It’s miserable. Dr recommended the sleeve or bypass in addition to hernia repair to make sure my stomach doesn’t break through again.

They're highly refined, high calorie/low nutrition, high in polyunsaturated fat. Nutritionally? They're kinda...poison junk.
I think they're tasty, but they're so incredibly awful nutrition-wise. If I'm going to do something that naughty, it's going to taste a hell of a lot better than a Cheezit. LOL
Also...we all need to work on better ways to find pleasure/reward....than food. Particularly, crappy food that hurts us.

No more food rewards for me. I plan to reward myself with new makeup, shoes, clothes....plenty of other things to use as a reward. Food rewards is partly what got me here to begin with.

MaryPoppins got a reaction from Frustr8 in Protein shakes
I’m trying to do this on the cheap and convenient. Has anyone tried Aldi’s Elevation Protein powder? My program lists it as one of the recommended powder Proteins. I’m hesitant to buy without knowing what others think of the taste. As far as bottled Protein Shakes, has anyone tried the new Ensure Max?

Do you have a hernia, Gerd or gallbladder issues? Plenty of people just say they're having that corrected, then say their following a physician supervised diet plan afterwards.

Well this post wasn’t intended as a joke but thanks for the crude and somewhat immature humor.

Try to get the sublingual Vitamins. They melt under your tongue in a few seconds.
A couple of the major Vitamin suppliers have applied the term RAPI-MELTS to the vitamin name when it is a sublingual rapid-melting kind.
My Men's Over 50 Multivitamin and my B12 are rapi-melts.

When I had surgery 4 years ago, my surgeon recommended 3 Flintstone complete chewable Multivitamins daily. Since at the time these Vitamins were readily available in large bottles at Sam's club, that is what I went with. But Sam's club has transitioned to Gummy Flintstones which cannot be used for gastric bypass patients. The chewable are still available in small bottles at drug stores but they cost more. But they are still available in large bottles on-line at Amazon.
