Bhageerah got a reaction from DropWt4Life in What is a non-food activity your REALLY looking forward to?
I agree completely bro! I am sick of having to pay extra for "Big and Tall" and not having a whole lot of selection! I also want to be able to fit in the rides at Busch Gardens again and be able to ride roller coasters with the kids!! Wife and I also have a cruise scheduled for June 2018 that we have to fly to Seattle for. I am looking forward to being able to get into a seat and have a little bit of room to move around, rather than just barely being able to fasten the seat belt! I am looking forward to being healthier and living longer without knee pain, back pain, hypertension, or a fatty liver!!! Sorry @celticNgel I just can't see myself going to Victorias Secret and getting a nice bra and panty set unless it was for the wife, she would get downright medieval for any other reason!

Bhageerah reacted to DropWt4Life in How long do plateus/stalls typically last?
Arthur, I think your body just has to catch up to the enormous amount of changes that your body has gone through in a relatively short amount of time. At 3 weeks out, I hit a stall for a week. I lost no weight. I lost inches though, because my clothes were getting bigger. I could tell the difference, even within 1 week. Anyway, the first day of the next week, I lost 4 pounds overnight. I then continued to lose at least 4-5 pounds per week up til this week. At week 6, I am noticing that I am the same weight that I was 4 days ago. I am possibly entering another stall, but it is okay. No need to worry. You will not....I repeat not stop losing weight long term on 600-700 calories per day. Not at this point in your journey. Keep doing what you are doing, and your body will respond.
    Good Luck!

My husband thought the cat pooped on our bed and then we realized it was my breath. Awesome. I'm 6 weeks out and he says it's much better.

I had my surgery one day before yours, I do find myself getting hungry but not half as much as I was prior to surgery. I do not know how much Protein you are managing to get in but I have determined that as long as I am eating something with high amounts of protein then I usually do not get that hungry. I have resorted to some clear Soups as well as sugar free popsicles but have noticed that they do not hold off my hunger for long. If I have some greek yogurt then that will last for several hours vs maybe an hour or so for the Soup. Not sure if it helps but good luck!

I brush my tongue and I can tell you that I have the same issue! I brushed my teeth constantly and I also have made Listerine stock go up a few points because I am constantly using it! I have found that is about the only thing that helped me. I am using it about 4-6 times a day. I am brushing my teeth more and using it constantly!

I saw the post about a week ago and saw that it turned absolutely crazy then, after I saw the first few posts I said forget it and have not returned to that monster. I know its what happens but that does not make it excusable either. Oh well, I guess the anonymity of the internet gives some folks more bravado since they really are not saying it to someones face. I don't know all I know is that it is an absolute shame. But I will agree with others, ignore them and move on because this site does have quite a bit of information that has helped me out! Ignore the nonsense and move on!

While I am new to the VSG community I am currently employed in healthcare, and yes please do take something because it is WAY past time for you to void! I am not sure what your Dr said that you could take but my Dr made it perfectly clear to us not to use anything other than Milk of Magnesia I am not sure why but he knows more about this than I do so I followed his orders. Not telling you to try it but to talk to your Dr to see what is acceptable as I know some products may cause cramping or other GI issues. Good luck and I hope that the problem works its way out!

I have to agre with almost everything said here! I was sleeved on 8/21 thankfully I got discharged the same day and spent less than 8 hours total in the hospital. Several days out I honestly was in the worst pain ever from the gas pain, and that is with the Dr removing all the excess gas that he could get. But that was the absolute worst part of the pain, no pain in the incisions whatsoever! I am currently on the liquids only and would truly hurt someone just for something slightly solid that was real food right now! I have about 5 days left on the liquid diet but am ANXIOUSLY awaiting my two week follow up so I can eat something slightly solid! Never thought that I would get so happy just over being able to eat a spoonful or two of refried Beans or a scrambled egg! Overall I am doing well and absolutely do not regret my decision at all! I have lost about 36lbs in less than two weeks so I am extremely happy! I was starting to experience several health issues with my kidneys, a few lymph nodes, sharp abdominal pains that would show up and disappear randomly and a few other issues. They have all disappeared in the past almost month. I am completely amazed! Trust us you made the right decision and will see the benefits of the choice you made! As Dory would say "Just keep swimming!" and before you know it you will be 20-40lbs lighter! Congratulations on you're decision and welcome to the club!!!

I had sleeve surgery 8/10/17.. in Tijuana...I swear I had the exact same view...lol I cannot say enough about how wonderful Dr Illian and Bariatric Pal were... the whole team of Doctors and nurses to valets and drivers....They just have their system down and it runs so smooth....you fly in same day they do all your testing and you're in surgery before you have time to get scared... I loved it... I love my new tool ..... and I would do it again in a heartbeat.. I was type 2 diabetes on pills 6 years when I went in...So for me it was Diabetic surgery as much as it was weight loss... you will always hear Dr. ilian patients you the phrase "10 years ago" and that is so true.. BTW at @ $4600 I figure my diabetes and blood pressure medicines will pay for the surgery in about 6 years.... that is not even counting the heart attack I was planning on having next year....

Dude nobody knows before hand the physiological things of something this intense until it happens. Yes I knew I wasn't going to stuff my face with a full cheeseburger and that's one reason I wanted this from the beginning because I was tired of eating this big ass burger. The journey that leads to where you are sir! If everyone can mentally pull of thoughts we would all be skinny huh? Just like you would be skinny and wouldn't have this surgery in the first place. I agree I need to take it day by day thank you and no thank you to your opinion

Hi I hope you start feeling better. I had surgery on Friday 8/25 I'm still in pain and having issues with gas pain as well. But I have been getting my fluids in and today I was able to finish a whole bottle of Protein Shake. Besides drinking water and G2 gatorade.

I am in desperate need of anything resembling real food. I get about 150 g of Protein a day and probably around 100 oz of food. I know some of my hunger is in my head but I would murder newborn puppies for some tuna or scrambled eggs. I can't really find any liquid appropriate foods I enjoy. One week till puree and broth is making me homicidal

Thanks for asking, because I was actually worried about the same thing! From what quite a few folks have said and videos that I had watched I was expecting barely to be able to drink anything. As you know there is less than a week left before both of us can transition to the next phase but I was extremely worried that my pouch was too big. I was able to kill a full cup of Water in less than the hour and without any problems, I am just glad that I am not alone in my thinking. And thank everyone that answered, as this was actually something I was going to talk to my Dr about when I got to my 2 week post op appointment!
