My dear, there will be plenty of men out there! I will be perfectly honest with you I like my wimmen curvy. But at the same time the figure does not make or break the relationship. It is in the personality of the woman, if the guy doesn't see the " real" you then please leave the no good, non deserving bastard by the road and move on! You deserve the best and if he can not support you on your journey then he obviously isn't worth your time to begin with!

Yes, it does, started a new job and some of the women that I work with started giving me compliments, I honestly am not used to it and was uncomfortable. Its not something that I am used to prior to the weight loss.

Bhageerah got a reaction from Orchids&Dragons in Can I still eat Halo Top?
You can have it but as it has already been stated it is something that you should hold off on. I know that sugar was one of my worst things. Halo top is low cal and high Protein but it also contains too much sugar for this phase of your journey. If it isn't on any of the paperwork that your Dr gave you then stay far far away. I know that I stayed away from sugar for quite some time and I think that the results I have had speak for themselves. I do eat cake and pie from time to time, even had halloween candy. But I can tell you that I am in control vs my sugar cravings being in control. Hold off as long as you can, the resetting that happens in your brain and metabolism are completely worth it. Prior to surgery I was not in control, and could not stay away from sugar, if I smelled or saw something I loved like doughnuts I couldn't walk away, now I can say its not worth it and keep walking!

OK, first let me get the fact that I am not a woman out of the way......that being said there is absolutely no reason that I can see that you need to completely change up date night if that is what the two of you enjoy! Yes you may need to change out the pizza but there is no reason why you can not have something healthier! Not only that but why can't you have a healthier version of pizza? There are several low carb recipes that you will be able to find on youtube. My wife LOVES to eat out, that accompanied with my busy schedule and eating well over 8K calories per day at my job as well as some "life" stress made me gain weight like nobody's business. We still go out but not HALF as much and when we do, we now split a meal and opt for a healthier option. We still have date night and go out but have changed it, I don't order dessert anymore, nor do I drink sweet tea or soda,. I am a strong believer that in this journey that we are all on part of success is a matter of finding out why you did what you did, and modifying said behavior and exercising in order to keep the weight off. Please don't take this the wrong way........but it wasn't one or two date nights a week that put the weight on (I know it wasn't for my big behind!!😂). And I doubt that one or two date nights will be enough to make you put the weight back on. Please go enjoy the time with your husband, no matter what it is! Take a walk, go play bingo, lazer tag, or start working out together! I don't care just as long as the two of you are doing it together and enjoying each others company!! (Oh and its healthy......😋) From a guys POV sometimes its not about what we do with the woman its about just spending time together and being able to communicate.

Did it, and INSTANTLY regretted it! I made one of my favorite meals and had to have some, it was about 2 months post surgery and I had a chunk of roast beef that was way too big and not chewed enough.....that was serious regret! The pain that I experienced was enough that I learned and have not made that dumb mistake since! In addition to the pain of it going down I also had stomach pain for HOURS after that. The pain almost felt like something was trying to rip me apart from the inside! NOT WORTH IT!!!!

I was buck nekked under my gown, I did wear undies to the hospital they requested that I take everything off prior to surgery. It all got packed into a bag and left with the wife as she waited, once I was done with surgery and released 7 hours later I threw everything back on and went home.

I have managed to get rid of all of my pre surgery clothes, went on a trip to Alaska and managed to fit in the airplane seat! I have also managed to be able to fit my formerly big behind into any and all roller coasters at the local theme park!!! That alone was an amazing feeling since there were only a few rides that I was small enough to get on. I am currently halfway into working my way up to being able to jog a 5k in less than 25 minutes with my golden doodle and when that happens I will be doing cartwheels! By far one of the best decisions of my life to have this surgery!!

I recommend writing down your measurements prior to surgery. I have a scale & I do tend to weigh myself daily and around 3 weeks I did hit a stall & it was stressing me out that it wasn’t moving. At my 1 month park I rechecked my measurement & I could see the difference in inches all over. I also have a Fitbit that tracks my heart rate. Even when the scale wasn’t moving I could see my resting heart rate going down. It clicked that I needed to look at the bigger picture. It’s not just numbers on a scale.

I have a scale, one of the WiFi ones that reports to an app on my phone. It’s made it possible for me to obsess a lot LESS. I’m 7 months out and have experienced a bunch of nonsense that all impacted weight loss, but because I was able to leave all the record-keeping to the app, I could wait until I was in a good headspace to look at it and analyze it rationally. Knowing that it was being tracked somewhere automatically made it stick in my head less.
I’m not freaking out about stalls, but if I see my trend line going flat for two weeks, that tells me I have to try changing something up. It’s a good statistical baseline to have, when so much of this process is emotional or perception-based.

Yes ... almost exactly my (male) experience.
    * Down to just one medication now ... apixaban/Eloquis ... and that won't change any time soon
    * My knees and ankles appreciate that I've shed more than a third of my mass/weight in 52 weeks
    * Yep ... the bath-sheet is too big now when it would not quite go around me 15 months ago. A regular-sized towel is enough to dry me adequately after a bath or shower or time in the pool.
    * Aeroplane and bus seats have room left-over
    * My driving position in the car is not cramped by my obesity like 12-25 months ago. My seat belt is NOT all the way extended as in the past.
    * My shirts/tops are down from Australian 8XL/9XL (USA 5XL) to 2XL/XL (USA XL). Ditto underpants ... from 7XL to 2XL now.
    * My slacks/trousers are down from 177cm/172cm [about 70 inches] waist to 122cm/117cm range [about 45 inches]
I gave away 19 shopping bags of "super big" clothes and 22 pairs of slacks/trousers to the charity shop in the last few months.
Once the plastic surgeon removes my excess skin before xmas 2019, I expect to shed another two to three pants sizes.
I also noticed that my feet lose weight/width proportionately with my upper body. I no longer need 4E shoe widths. I can get by with E or 2E in leather shoes and regular joggers/trainers/tennis-shoes.

I’m not a “vet” by any means but I’ve had a lot of success since my surgery and I’ve been on this site for a good 9 months. And I love being a part of this community. So I want to say this first, I posted in Rants & Raves for a reason....

    - “I’m 5 day’s post op and it’s not working”. Miracles don’t happen overnight. The amount of people who think that they will wake up from surgery feeling amazing and all their problems solved. SMH
    - “I haven’t lost anything in 3-4 months and I’m 6 months post op”. I’m all about helping but I hate when people post about how they aren’t loosing and then don’t offer any information on their diet, exercise, Vitamin intake, ect. And half the time they drop off the face of the earth when you ask them.....SMH
    - The pre-op diet sucks, that is all. SMH
-“I’m still hungry”. I hate that a common misconception that hunger is going to disappear. It doesn’t happen to everyone. But common sense would tell you that, liquids aren’t filling. Wait until you are on solids again to worry about your hunger levels. SMH

Ok I’m done! Thanks guys for letting me get that off my chest. Some days you just have to rant.

And PS. I know that people don’t always know the stuff I mentioned above, so when I’m not overly irritated by these gross misunderstandings about the process...I’m happy to help!
