    Jeaniered got a reaction from GreenTealael in Wedding rings - what to do?
    I kept buying inexpensive bands which I had to replace nearly every month. I have now had my rings resized by the jewellers and they fit great. Glad to have them back in my finger.

    That's fascinating, and not weird at all. At least as far as my hip replacement, no doctors would even talk to me if my BMI was over 40. I look forward to going into a doctor's office for a cold and not getting lectured about my weight.

    I lay in bed and can feel my ribs, in fact they are sticking out! But my bim is still not normal. If I lose more I will look Ill. I’m 63, happy with where I am, bought long length boots today, not extra wide and can cross my legs, go to the gym and run with my grandkids so I’m happy. I’m in the uk so have the nhs (though I did pay for my sleeve) and so I don’t have to go the medical insures to plead for treatment.

    Yes I agree, but I did this for my health also everybody’s body is different. I don’t feel fat, I feel just right. You judge, my latest photos below. Also my surgeon told me he thought I’m about right and that he felt that in his opinion the bim boundries are a bit extreme. Anyway I’m still losing, even though I’m trying to maintain my current weight. I might end up hitting my normal bmi anyway 😂

    Not sure what you mean by language? I didn’t say I looked Ill, but if I got to my recommend bmi then I felt i would look ill! At 63 I would look silly trying to look like a model! Why are you picking on me?

    “Normals” fine for me. I’ll go with the advice of my doctor but thanks for your comments. The way things are going I may end of losing more anyway.

    Biotin Vitamins and caffeine Shampoo and conditioner. The difference has been amazing. I got the biotin tablets on Amazon. hair is now filly restored, very shiny and looks great.

    Good for you, you look great. I agree with your philosophy, I don’t want to look like my mum though she was pretty wild and foxy. I hear what your saying and perhaps I’m throwing the towel in too soon let’s see how it goes. I agree my thighs need a bit more off, just worried about any more loose skin. I too want to turn heads which I’m doing now and it’s great. Thanks for the kick up the bum. X

    My dr and nutritionist said BMI is useful for classifying large groups of people and useless for individual weights. For me I would need to lose another 40 lbs. at this point 32” pants are getting loose and I’m in a medium shirt. Bones in my shoulders are clearly visible and ribs are when I lay down. Another 40 lbs to the ‘normal’ range and I would have serious issues. Body fat is a way better method if you can get it tested.
    I’m just happy I’m never the fattest person in the room now (yes I used to keep track of that!)

    I have put my goal weight at 65kilos for the moment, not within the healthy BMI but it is a weight that I previously lost weight to and I was happy with. My doctor doesn't really want to set weight goals he wants to work with body composition. I had a DEXA scan the day before my procedure and my body fat was 42%. Ideally it should be between 25% to 31%. I have my first procedure follow up on Wednesday I will discuss goals with him then.

    @josephsmom:
    I've heard that our hair grows in 3-6 month cycles, so if someone is currently losing hair, it's likely that their nutrition several months back may be a contributing factor. For VSG patients, they often struggle with Protein, hydration, and overall nutrition in the beginning 4-5 weeks until they begin solid food. So, during that first month or so, the body slows the growth of hair and nails to conserve nutrition for more vital body functions. In effect, your hair has a "bad" cycle. That's why it's temporary.
    If your nutrition is good now, I'd suggest using a product like Rogaine for women and caffeine Shampoo to stimulate the new growth. Also, don't stress about it! 😊 Stress is not only bad for hair regrowth....but it's bad for everything else too! In a few months, you'll see your hair, health, and figure vastly improved!
