    Isopure drink replacement (vegan)

I haven’t tried it yet but I have tasteless isopure powder to put in all of my drinks. I’ve heard that it is indeed taste free and you can mix it in anything under 140 degrees. I use the premixed premier protein drinks now and they are pretty good IMo. I plan to use bone broth with added isopure when I start my pre-op diet. Not sure if that is the info you were looking for or not. Hopefully others will be of more help. Have a great day! Amanda [emoji16] HW 248 CW 241 Surgery Date: pending 11/21/2017. Feeling anxious

This is how I sort through all of the worries and what if’s going through my mind. The risk of death from/during the surgery are slim, about the same as getting a c-section (at least that’s what my surgeon says) and I’ve survived one of those so I’m not worried about that. My mother died pretty young from a massive heart attack, her whole family had issues with weight and weight related health problems. They died young and missed out on so much with their kids & grandkids. I may not have the problems yet but they are in my very near future. I haven’t been able to do this on my own, so now I’m getting help to renew my health. If I don’t fix this now I might not see my youngest graduate from high school, I won’t meet most of my grandkids and I will have so many health issues that I will suffer in the end (watched family go through this) so I’m putting my foot down Now and taking back the control over my life. I won’t let food decide when and how I will die, I plan to go out fighting. There is too much I haven’t done in my life for me to just give in to being fat but temporarily healthy anymore. That is just me though, I have a weird way of looking at things I guess lol. Have a great day! Amanda [emoji16] HW 248 CW 241 Surgery Date: pending 11/21/2017. Goal weight 150’ish [emoji23]

  4. I’m having a Thanksgiving meal just before the pre-op diet starts with all of the yummies that go with it. I bought the turkey & Fixins today so when the turkey defrosts I can attack it and have time to make bone broth from what’s left [emoji177]. Hubby won a gift card for Lonestar steakhouse on Halloween so we are having lunch later today. I won’t have many days off (school) before surgery so we are going earlier. [emoji16] Have a great day! I think learning the new stomach and what it needs or doesn’t need will be a tough trick to learn. Glad you are feeling ok and I hope the headache and weakness resolves soon. November sleevers

When I thought I would be having surgery in October I went decaf slowly and was fine. I immediately went back when I was scheduled for Nov 21st [emoji23]. Starting tomorrow I will start weaning myself off again, I do it slowly to avoid the migraines but I always feel sluggish as my coffee has less and less caffeine in it. I have a Mr Latte maker (from Target) and I use 2 protein drinks per 11 oz of coffee, I carry it around all morning and sip on it. My NUT is ok with me replacing breakfast and snack with it so I plan to continue but I doubt I’ll drink as much after surgery. Protein drinks are allowed on my pre-op diet so I plan to stick to it as long as I can. My pre-op diet starts on the 13th. So far so good [emoji1360]. how are you doing?

    Driving?

Planning for no more than 1 week without driving, I have to drive to school 7 days post-op. I’d prefer sooner but will see how I feel. Have a great day! Amanda [emoji16] HW 248 CW 241 Surgery Date: pending 11/21/2017. Goal weight 150’ish [emoji23]

Prayers for strength/healing for all of this weeks OR’s. I hope you have a fast and full recovery. To the pre-op’ers hang in there [emoji1377] you’ve got this! Have a great day! Amanda [emoji16] HW 248 CW 241 Surgery Date: pending 11/21/2017. Goal weight 150’ish [emoji23]
  13. When asked about my weight loss I plan to just say I changed my diet and I’m exercising. Those will be true I just won’t add the part about the surgery. I usually just sit and talk to everyone, I will have to get up and walk around while “eating”. Hubby said he would happily help me. He said to get a plate full of food and just push it around the plate, when he finishes his he will discreetly trade plates with me [emoji16] Have a great day! Cheating on liquid diet

My surgeon said any solid foods (other than my 1 yogurt/day) during the 7 day preop period will disqualify me for surgery. Other surgeons may not be as strict but mine is. I don’t know how they would know you ate but I don’t want to chance it. I’ve waited a long time to get my surgery and I don’t want to do anything to risk losing it. I am having a family pre-Thanksgiving meal on the 10th because I am supposed to start my preop diet on the 13th, surgery on the 21st. That will give me plenty of time to enjoy the Thanksgiving yummies and use the bones for broth for my Thanksgiving dinner. Have a great day! 16. I have had a few people ask for my recipes, and I’ve asked for a few as well, so I thought I’d start a thread for bone broth recipes. I use an instapot but you can use a crock pot or just a pot on the stove. The stove top process will take longer but should have the same results. For the chicken one I bought 2 roasted chickens from Sams club and after we ate the meat I used the bones. For beef I went to the local meat market and bought a stew bone, I didn’t like the finished product so I’m going to try the Asian market. For pork I used 3 ham hocks. For all my broths I just combine veggies that I would put in soup (carrots, celery, mushrooms, onions, broccoli etc), herbs (bay leaf, thyme etc), about 2 chicken skeletons worth of bones and enough water to cover the bones. I use the soup setting on the instapot to cook it well done for 1 hour. When it’s done I take out the veggies & herbs and replace with fresh, I do this 2 more times with the same bones & liquid. After they cook through 3-4 times I strain the juices into a separate pot and discard the rest, add salt & pepper to taste & let it cool. Once it has cooled there will be a layer of fat on top, just remove it and discard it. I added the broth into soup containers I found on amazon and froze them. I have used some of it to make soups and saved some for the liquid diet stage. When using it for the liquid diet stage warm it up to below 140 degrees, anything hotter will denature the protein you will be adding to it. Mix in enough tasteless protein powder to achieve your protein needs. I believe the website I checked said it should contain 17g of protein but definitely research it, I could be wrong. I have made beef (still looking for recipes, mine was not good), chicken (yum!), pork broths and from those I’ve also made ham/bean soup, turkey zuppa toscana, chicken soup and pumpkin butternut squash soup. I ran half of each batch of soup through the food processor for the purée stage. Feel free to add your own recipes to this thread, we can help each other through this [emoji1360]. Here is one of my freezer shelf’s [emoji4]

    Bone broth recipes

I basically make mine like soup with herbs and veggies and take out the veggies & bones when it’s done and I love it. I am a big soup eater though so that may be a contributor for me. Im actually looking forward to my broth phase, I already started using it to replace my snacks. I’m sorry yours wasn’t good, it’s not for everyone I guess [emoji20] Have a great day! 22. You all inspire me to keep the secret. I told a few people that I was considering it and they were very unsupportive. I had decided to keep it a secret, I’ve told hubby & my kids and my dad and that’s it. I will just say diet & exercise changes are doing it. I will be visiting family for Christmas and they are all about the food, I will be about 4 weeks post op so unable to eat anything they’ll make and staying with them. What should I do?
