My daily (boring but working) pre op intake is: Coffee with a splash of Premier Protein Banana or caramel , then the rest of the Premier Protein shake for breakfast, at 10am I have 2 C of chicken broth, at Noon I have 2 C chicken broth + another Premier Protein shake, at 2pm I have 1 sf jello cup, at 6ish I have 2 C chicken broth (appetizer ) and another Carmel Premier Protein shake, 8pm snack another sf jello cup. I don't really like any other flavors of broth or I would have those. My shakes have to be under 200 calories, high protein (these are 30g) and as low sugar as you can find (1g). Premier is handy, pre made, and I like the flavors (Caramel, Banana, and Strawberry Cream are my favorites). I SWEAR I have not had any headaches, and my energy level is really good (just fall asleep earlier which helps me not dwell on food). I lost 9 lbs in the first 3 days (prob water), and have not weighed myself this week. Dr wanted me down 10 before surgery (Friday) so I am really happy with my progress. Stay positive!!

Good for you!! My Dr has me on clear liquids and protein shakes (pre op diet) for a week after surgery (Friday) ........Looking forward to advancing to a little more variety.

All Drs are different. my pre op is STRICTLY clear liquids, no chunks or solids. Zero sugar or carbs except for up to 4 protein shakes a day. And even the shakes have ingredient limits. Follow your Drs orders whatever they are! Bonus is I've lost 9 lbs in 3 days and will lose more than just water weight before surgery Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

How Much Weight Did You Lose On Your Pre Op Liquid Diet??
HDScarlett replied to ashleey921's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
9 lbs in 3 days. Today is day 4 of 10. Surgery is friday Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app -
Don't eat solids! Try changing protein shake brands. I am on day 4. The first 3 days were a dream, but today I struggled a little because I miss chewing. I am having a Premier Protein shake and coffee for breakfast (I use a little protein shake for cream in my coffee), then I have some chicken stock at about 10am. I have more chicken stock at Noon followed by another shake. At 2pm I have one jello cup. Dinner is another cup of stock followed by a shake. Jello at 8pm, then bed. I drink iced tea during the day and Propel water. My Dr has warned me that eating solids will prevent your liver from shrinking and he has had cases where he could not go thru with surgery. There is a light at the end of our tunnel....only a few more days!!!

I GOT MY DATE!(AUGUST )SURGERIES WHERE U @
HDScarlett replied to Beautiful Diamonds's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im August 25th and SOOOOOO excited!! On day 4 of pre op diet and doing grrrrrreat -
You can have coffee and tea pre op - they tell you to drink decaf, but confessed that the only reason is because caffeine is a diuretic........pp11150330, mine will not allow milk pre op even tho I can have up to 4 protein shakes a day (with very specific limits re fat/protein/calories etc). I chose Premier Protein and have to be honest, I'm on day 4 of clear liquids (surgery is Friday) and my energy is fine, and I have not wanted to gnaw my arm off. LOL

Anxiety and people knowing about surgery
HDScarlett replied to pp11150330's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is why I chose not to go the short term disability route and work it out with my manager. Short term can always be retro, if you don't want to go that route up front. All you have to tell them is that you are having major abdominal surgery. And if HR does not keep this confidential, you have a law suit. If you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol or any other medical issues associated with your weight, it's NOT elective.....good luck and keep us posted! -
Anxiety and people knowing about surgery
HDScarlett replied to pp11150330's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I have been able to keep my health issues private, and in this case, I told my manager that I "am having some parts removed". LOL Since he is male, he can take this in several directions, but I knew this would thwart any need for me to elaborate. Work is allowing me to take a few days sick, and then I am taking a few PTO days, and then work remote if I need it. I told my closest friends and family that I am having my hernia fixed (which is true since I have a hiatal that they will be fixing during surgery). My fiance is the only one who knows the truth, and that's the way it's going to stay. I'm not embarrassed etc to tell the truth, but I don't want people calling and bugging me during recovery, or watching what I eat etc. When people start to notice the weight loss, I am going to tell them that I had to go on a limited diet pre surgery, and it just became really easy - that's my story, and I'm stickin to it!! -

Vitamin and B12 patches
HDScarlett replied to HDScarlett's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great! Did you buy them from this site? I hate the thought of swallowing MORE pills -
Has anyone used the vitamin and B12 patches? My Dr had no experience or info on them. If you use them, do you like them and do they provide everything you need post op?
